"Where are you going?" Rikku asked me. "I'm just going to fetch myself an apple," I told her. "I'll get you one," she offered as she jumped up. "It's okay. I'm sure I can managed on my own," I said looking at her. She fell back into the chair. "Isn't it obvious? He want a better view. Who can blame him, she's gorgeous! You're just not on his radar anymore, Rikku, but we can do something later on if you're game," Paul flirt with the girl whom I've once liked, come to think of it; it was more of a fling. "In your dreams," she stated as I walked away. At the fruit tables, I came to a halt. Picked a shining red apple from a bowl, and turned around as I bite into it. Paul was right, I have a much better view from this angle. I stood there staring straight at her. I don't care who sees me. There's something about her hating my guts. Something about her pushing me away and slapping me that I'm finding intriguing. "Are you still sure that he's not looking at you," I faintly heard Ilya question. All of her friends turned around to look at me. Slowly everybody was turning their attention towards me. I don't give a damn, because she's the only one that I'm seeing. "What's your damn problem? Don't you have somebody else that you can harass!" She exclaimed as she jumped up, barely throwing her chair over. The orphans exhaled loudly. I just stood their looking at her in amusement. She throw her long hair to the side, turned around and walked away. I watched as she walked through the sliding doors. I juggled the apple from one hand to another as I ran after her. Everybody's staring. "Hey, wait up?" I called after her. "Why won't you just leave me alone?" She questioned in a halve exclaimed manner. "You don't really want a answer to that question, do you?" I asked with a little laugh. She just kept on walking. "Hey, let's start over- I'm sorry about last night!" I said hoping that it would make things a little bit easier. "Yeah, whatever!" I rushed closer towards her side and jumped infront of her, blocking her way. "I'm Lawliet better known as L. What's your name?" She looked up at me. Her eyes boring through my soul. Sparkling like two zircons. She's much shorter then me. "Cloe. Cloe Ryuzaki, but I prefer the name Angel," she said with a sigh. Even her sigh sounds cute. "Cloe. Well, that's a beautiful name. So Angel, huh, does that rule counts for me too?" I asked her with a smile. As soon as I flashed her a smile she turned her face away. "Sure, do as you please!" I could tell that she's trying to get around me. "What about, you and I, play a game of tennis later on?" I asked hopefully. "Don't try your luck! Now would you please be so kind as to get out of my way?" She asked drily. "Cool, no problem." I told her as I moved out of her way. I watched as she waltzed away. her long white-blonde hair wipping from side to side.
"L, I've got a case that needs your attention," Watari said barging into my room. "Not now, I'm just to destrected," I told him honestly. "It's all fine. But, because, I know that you'll be able to solve this one in your sleep, I'm going to provide you with the details. Look at it when you feel less destrected." He put the file down on a small table, and left. As curiosity got the better of me I picked up the file and scanned it thoughtfully through. Another bank robbery. The police shot the thief. Dead on scene, but the cash was never retrieved. They've seached everywhere and still haven't found it. With the file underneath my arm, I left the room. Joining Watari in his office. "You know. You could have given it to one of the successors." I took my place in; infront of the computers and powered it up. "Greetings, I am L! I've looked into your problematic bank robbery. If you really want to obtain the cash, I suggest that you look in all the bindspots, in and around the vault. The money never made it outside." There's whispers among the men. "How can you be so sure?" One of the men, dressed in blue, asked. "Because, it's actually quit simple, the robber were killed on scene- he never left. That means the money never left the building. Near the vault is the most common place to hit the bills, while he waits for transpotation." It defenitly satisfied their curiosity. "He's good!" Another said, just before I've greeted them and signed off. "What's with you? You're not being yourself," Watari asked as I stood up. "It's nothing!" I exclaimed. "Forgive me for prying, but 'nothing' won't have you this destrected. It's Angel, isn't it? Should I sent her to another Orphanage?" I looked up at him in total disbelieve and shook my head. "Are you absolutely sure?" Watari asked, his voice filt with concern. "Yeah, I'm sure. Dammit, Watari! Why did you have to ask me something like that? I like her- a lot!" I can't believe that I've just come clean. "Yes, I figured you'd say something like that. But I thought, you and Rikku..." I stopped him in mid sentence. "That's enought bonding for now. Just so that you know, there's nothing going on between Rikku and me." With that I left his office. Do I really like her so much that I would stop Watari from sending her away? When did this happen? Last night? Or, perhaps, that first glance?
When I entered my room Vash was waiting for me. "She hates me!" I said exhaling loudly. "And you're finding it intriguing?" I gave him a wry smile. "Want me to remind you what happened through breakfast hour?" Vash questioned. "No need- I'm fully aware! But she's like the sun on a cloudy day. A whisper that calms the storm." I plumped down on to the bed. "Since when are you into poetry?" I didn't answer. "Man, you're love strucked!" Vash exclaimed. "Nah, I wouldn't go that far- but I do like her!" I gave him a little smile as I fell back into my pillow. "The minute out eyes locked, felt like an eternity. I have never before seen, eyes so blue; lips so pink or hair so white, in my life." I continued, lost in my own world. "Jip! Love strucked, there's no doubt about it. Cupid shoot his arrow straight through your heart," Vash's words broke though the thick, strong walls to my memory lane. "I deny! What is love actually? A warm, fuzzy feeling." My friend looked at me in awe. "I don't think that anybody can really answer that question. Individually we all have our own defenition of love, yet how you analyzed her sounds like love to me." I quickly sat up straight and looked at Vash. "I hear you. It does, doesn't it? Well, then I guess I'm a fool. Foolish to think that she would ever like me. Love and hatred is, hereby, only a breath away!" Vash laughed as he rises to his feet. "You're much to poetic for my taste. Maybe you should sing her a song." My face lit up. "I was just kidding!" Vash exclaimed. Maybe, but it's actually a great idea. If she doen't want to see me, then she would have to listen.
