Clementine
At some point I had dozed off to the rattling sound of the loose carriage doors. Night had fallen and the sky was now draped in a blanket of stars. Lately restlessness overtook me many times through out the day and today was no different.
The maidens of my fathers mansion had hurriedly but efficiently packed a suitcase filled with my attire for the day as well as night wear and not to mention other essential travelling items. But I was to wrapped up in my thoughts to pay close attention to each individual item.
Symptoms were starting to appear I could feel it; my throat was awfully sore no matter how many beverages I consumed it remained dry. My senses were heightened and I felt so hyper sensitive.
From the smallest touch to the slightest sound it made my body buzz with alert. In spite if that I had accepted all these things they were bound to happen I was mentally prepared for it. But what I was not prepared for was this, this banishment .
I was no rouge to be imprisoned in such a lowly place my status just would not allow it. But my father had and it stung.
I groaned, it was chilly outside compared to my cosy fire place in my bed chamber . By the devil, I miss it already. How lovey it would be to roast my toes near the crackling fire whilst I sipped some earl grey tea.
As if on instincts Sebastian felt my discomfort and wrapped a shawl around me along with his arms caging me in a warm embrace. Despite being asleep I was fairly aware of my surroundings; the crickets singing outside, the muffled chattering of the other 2 guards that accompanied us who were steering the vehicle, the soft neigh of the horses and I most definitely was aware of Sebastian's strong sturdy arms wrapped around me.
The bliss of it all was other worldly. I realised just how safe I felt in his arms if it had been any other male my father would have surely slaughtered the poor man. But he...was different it just felt right the way my body had moulded into his and the way his scent engulfed me.
The uneasiness that I felt at the pit of my stomach remained but I found comfort in his cage of arms.
The rapid jerk of the carriage caused my eyes to flung open and my heart beat increased. As the whole carriage shook violently I realised my body remained in tact; frozen in the same position. Sebastian's grip is what held me in place.
I turned to face him my eyes groggy from my long rest a confused look masking my expression. I looked for an explanation in his eyes searching them but instead getting lost in their magnificence. He finally spoke reassuring me "Its alright princess we have just hit some rocks" he cradled me removing strands of hair away from my face.
"Sebastian I think we better stop for the night the horses need to be fed" it was one of the guards from earlier. I was quite relieved to hear such glad tidings, my muscles were stiff from sitting for so long not that I minded cuddling with Sebastian but I needed a stretch.
"Set up tent I think I spotted a cave nearby and one of you go collect some firewood our miss here is absolutely freezing".
In one swift motion Sebastian had some how detached himself from me and was now standing outside the carriage.
He offered his gloved hand towards me encouraging me to come out. I stumbled out the wooden doors, my legs feeling week but Sebastian steadied me.
It was still cold and hence I clutched onto the shawl tighter as Sebastian lead the way towards the small cave. One of the 2 guards had already set up a tent "all done" he announced whilst admiring his handy work, silently left receiving a nod of approval from Sebastian.
As a bitter wind swept by a chill ran down my spine. Sebastian glanced sideways acknowledging my uneasiness and motioned towards the tent.
"I know Clem" he sighed as if it deeply distressed him to see me so cold "the fire wood will be here soon and get in there right this instance" he looked absalultly horrified
"How gastly your lips have turned blue!" I giggled and hurridly whent inside. I did not wanto recieve or listen to another one of Sebastians lectures they were such a bore. The tent was not as grand as the rooms in the mansion but it would have to do for now...
