Chapter 6 - Mothers also need

Rosalyn

"Welcome home my lady I hope you had a smooth journey"

The gate keeper announced bowing  only to reveal a bold patch at the centre of his head. "Aah yes why thank you" but my mind was asking a more important question. "Has my beloved Clementine departed or does she remain within the mansion"

The stubby man looked nervous not really knowing whether to be the one to break it to me or not. " I am afraid they could not wait any longer my lady and they left not too long ago" he bowed once again and this time I did not respond but only ventured forward inside my home. The home in which we once fought for.

Now it welcomed me with open arms and warm smiles of the maids who rushed forward to greet their lady. The sense of familiarity wafted through the air. A smile creeped on my face I forgot how much I loved this place.

Thump.

One moment I was simply admiring our home the next my legs gave way and my body lay motionless on the ground my back hitting hard against the uncarpeted hall way. I could hear the frantic cries of the maids rushing around me.

My mind was blank as my eyes threatened to close at any moment wavering. I could now feel the burning sensation creep up my neck it was as if someone had scorched the tender muscles of my neck with a lamp. It was beyond endurance this hunger.

I was too stunned to make any noise. All I wanted was to reach up and grab my throat but my body did not allow it. I swallowed and kept swallowing trying to extinguish the flame in my throat but there was no use. I was separated from my mate for far too long and it had taken a devastating toll on my body.

Weakening me.

A veil of darkness covered my eyes but it had not been my eye lids that brought this dark but something physical, a silk cloth was placed over my face.

With that, sturdy but reliable arms were wrapped around me and my exhausted body now separated from the floor . Dear lord it was Vincent. My body eased relaxing in his embrace as he carried me away my eye lids falling shut.

How could I miss his scent... it must've been the cloth it it was interfering, blocking my sence of smell.

Being this close to him I could smell his pheromones seeping through the thin fabric my nostrils flaring taking in every bit of him. If it had not been for the fatigue that washed over my body or the muffled aroma of his scent I would have pounced him. "Be patient my love we are almost there"

As if he had read my mind "just bare it a moment longer" he whispered softly. His sweet voice paliated me. How had he arrived so swiftly whisking me away, protecting me and not allowing anyone to see me in such a state.

My heart still beat for this man whom I now call husband even in our adulthood he held the power to make my heart throb like crazy yet melt me to the core all at the same time...Finally I heard the door creak open as he extend his arm to shut it behind him.

The anticipation was killing me.

He removed the cloth as he released me onto the large surface of the comfy bed, cushioning my head on an array of pillows. His smell was drowning me the whole room screamed his name. I slowly opened my eyes adjusting to the dimly lit room the fire place being the only source of light. The sound of the wood crackling in the back was somewhat soothing breaking the eerie silence.

I could see him clearly now it almost knocked the breath out of me. He was a muscular man with broad shoulders. Although, age was eating at us day by the day he remained his handsome self . Well in my eyes he had.

I noticed he had sleeked back his hair today it was the same light brown shade as clementine. A gasp escaped my mouth. That's right I had completely forgotten about my baby I really do hope she's safe.

My mood must have impacted Vince because at that moment before I could even express my feelings he spun around. Looking down on me his brows creased in worry . He held a glass of water a tablet fizzling at its pit. My eyes narrowed to the red substance forming at the bottom of the glass swirling and mixing with the water.

"Rose before you can properly feed you must first regain some energy" he stated. Whilst, putting the glass down on the cabinet on the side of the bed, he attended to the sheets that sprawled around me messily instead, cocooning me in the duvet as he lifted me slightly.

"Drink this I have improved the formula and it is exactly what you need right now!" he placed the glass against my lips the beverage's liquid sliding down my throat and exploding in my mouth. I drank it hungrily slurping up all of it's contents. A groan escaped me as I licked the remains from my mouth I felt reawakened. My raspy voice laced with need I breathed ...

"Give it to me Vince. "
