I sat up on my bed as I woke up. I was still feeling so sleepy even when I tried to rub off the sleep in my eyes. My body was aching all over and I still felt so tired. I slept really late last night.
I checked the time on my phone and realised that it was six. Even though I really wanted to go back to sleep, I decided to go and take a shower. We were done with the music video that meant we had the whole day to ourselves.
The sound of Zoey snoring, made me turn to look at her. She had finally moved back to the room last night. She said it was lonely sleeping alone and that she had missed me. I couldn't help but agree with her and she came back to the room. And judging by the way she was sleeping, she was awfully as tired as I was.
I got up from my bed, made it and decided to brush my teeth and take a shower. I figured that while I am still awake, I could go through one or two things with our plans to trap Jehan.
After taking a shower, my nerves were up and running. As soon as I dressed up, I left Zoey still sleeping and went to the lounge. Thinking that I would be alone, I found Collins by the dining table having a cup of coffee and looking over his tablet.
"Well, you're up early," said Collins as he looked at me when I stepped into the lounge.
"Morning," I said as I walked over to him. "Ya, I'm up early. And what are you doing here?"
"Working like I usually do." Collins tapped and swiped on his tablet. "Aren't you tired because of the video shoot yeaterday?"
I sat down next to him. "Ya, I am."
"If you're up this early, then you have some kind of agenda. What is it?"
"Mmmm, I have no agenda today," I lied. "I just woke up out of nowhere."
"You guys also stayed up pretty late last night in the lounge with Lee. What were you up to?"
"We were just talking, that's all. And we were playing card games as usual. We hadn't done that in a while."
"Ya, true, I heard you guys laughing. Looks like you really had a lot of fun."
If only Collins knew that the only reason for the laughter was that we were coming up with stupid random ideas on how to trap Jehan, that we couldn't help but laugh out loud. We were really having a good time yet we were dealing with something serious.
"I see that you and Zoey have stopped fighting," said Collins.
"We have," I said. "We talked through it yesterday."
"I'm glad. I knew your issue wasn't as bad as I thought. Besides, I knew it wasn't going to last long. I mean, you two are the best of friends. It's going to take the world coming to an end to break you two up."
"Mmmm, maybe you're right."
"Want a cup of coffee?"
"Sure. I'll pour it myself, thanks."
I poured myself a cup of coffee while Collins continued to look through his tablet.
"And why are you so busy today?" I asked. "I mean, everything is done and all we have to do is wait for the official music video to be released. Then we go back home."
"You have no idea what we managers have to go through," said Collins. "You know you guys aren't the only artists I have to look after."
"Ya, I know. But you work hard everyday."
"It's not my fault I'm a manager. Besides, I love my job just like you love being an artist."
"True." I sipped on my cup of coffee.
"Anyway, I won't be around today. I have an important call to make back home and I don't want you guys disturbing me."
I felt enlightened by the news. That means we could go out and carry out our plans without Collins' knowledge.
"Can we go out and have fun then?" I asked.
"Sure. You deserve it."
"Thanks, Collins."
"You're welcome." He took a look at his watch. "I better get going, it's almost seven. Make sure no one gets into any trouble when you go out, okay? And I suggest you go out with any of the BigBang members. I don't want anyone getting lost."
"Collins, we have smart phones with a GPS. No one can get lost."
"Sometimes you just have to be extra cautious." Collins got up from his chair. "Have fun and be safe."
"We will," I said as I smiled up at him.
He smiled back as he carried his tablet with him and left the lounge. I heard the elevator doors open and close. I still sat at the dining table, sipping on my coffee and waited for a few good seconds.
I finally stood up from the chair, leaving my coffee on the table and went over to the huge glass windows where I saw Collins walk out of the building and enter the black SUV. As soon as the vehicle drove away, I rushed straight to my room where Zoey was still asleep and got my phone on the bed. I quickly texted Derrick and the other BigBang members to come over to the hotel. Derrick replied first and said he will be there in an hour. I bet the others were tired so I wasn't worried if they were to reply late.
As soon as I put my phone down, Zoey murmured and moved in her bed as she stretched her arms in the air. She sat upright and after rubbing her eyes, she looked at me.
"Morning, sleepy head," I said as I looked at her.
"Morning," she said. "What time is it?"
"Seven," I replied.
"Awww!" Zoey fell back onto the bed and covered her face with the blanket. "I feel like I haven't slept at all."
"Tell me about it. Just take a shower. You will feel wide awake."
"I still want to sleep."
"Well, you won't have to sleep forever. We have a lot to do."
"Arrgh, don't remind me." Zoey quickly drew the blanket away from her body and quickly got out of bed. "Is everyone still asleep?"
"Ya. Collins has some things to do and has already left."
"I better take a shower."
Zoey went to the bathroom and locked the door behind her. I was looking at my phone to see if I had any messages and immediately, a message popped up. And it was from G-Dragon. I read the message which said:
"Morning. Hope you had a wonderful night. I was wondering if you and I could spend the day together. I realise we have a lot to talk about. Call me or text me if you see this."
I wanted to scream out loud after reading the message. I completely forgot that G-Dragon wanted to meet me today to talk. But I don't know if I had time for that now considering what had to be done today.
What should I do? I couldn't leave him hanging.
I decided to text back:
"Morning. I'm okay. I hope you're okay too. Of course I would like to meet you today. Why don't we do so after lunch?"
I hope he was going to agree. G-Dragon had no idea about the situation between Jehan and Zoey and I didn't want things to get complicated if I had to lie to him. If he ever found out, he was bound to blow a fuse.
Zoey came out of the bathroom while I waited for G-Dragon to text back.
"Hey, are you okay?" Zoey asked as she came up to me in her white bathrobe and was drying her wet hair with a towel. "You seem really troubled."
"Oh, it's nothing," I replied, giving Zoey a smile.
"Don't try to lie to me. You seem a little off and you keep staring at your phone. Are you waiting for a message?"
"Ya. G-Dragon texted me saying he wants to talk to me."
"Talk to you about what?"
I sighed. "Obviously about you."
"Me!" Zoey sounded surprised as she pointed at herself. "Why me?"
"Well, last night when we spoke in the parking lot, he said he still couldn't believe that you've changed."
"Really? How am I going to prove to him that I'm okay with you and him being together?"
"Correction. He and I aren't together." I pointed out.
"But you will eventually, right? I mean, when all of this Jehan nonsense is over."
"Zoey, once the music video is released, we will be heading back home. Don't forget that."
"Oh, really? I forgot about that."
I shook my head and smiled at her. "Don't act dumb, Zoey."
"No, seriously. I kind of got used to this place, you know? I'm really going to miss it when we leave."
"Ya, I know what you mean."
"So," Zoey continued, dropping the topic and heading to the closet. "What are you going to tell him? We have a ton of things to do today."
"I know. But I just can't refuse."
"Why?"
"If I do, he might think something is up. And I can't tell him what's going on."
"True." Zoey took out a blue shirt and placed it on the bed. "He will kill me when that was supposed to be Jehan's job."
"Funny. I told him we should meet later on after lunch."
"And do you think he will agree?"
"I don't know. I'm waiting for his reply right now."
"No wonder you look so restless. You're afraid that he might come to pick you up right now."
"Now that you put it that way, yes." I felt a little shaky.
"Sorry."
"Don't be."
Zoey went back to the bathroom to blow dry her hair while I sat waiting for G-Dragon's reply. It felt a little strange that he hadn't replied yet. What was taking him so long?
A knock on the door brought me back from my thoughts. I turned to the door, got up from the bed and went to open it. Standing by the door was Lee all dressed up.
"Morning, I see you're also up early," said Lee.
"Morning. Come in, Zoey is getting ready in the bathroom."
"Ready for today?" Lee asked as she came in the room.
"No, I'm actually nervous. And I feel things are about to get a whole lot worse."
"Why do you say that?"
Before I could tell her about G-Dragon, Zoey came back in the room and said:
"G-Dragon wants to meet Sam today and that might just ruin our plans."
"Again with the blurting out thing," I said. "I was going to tell her, you know?"
"What does he want to talk about?" Lee asked.
"Me of course," said Zoey with a smile. "The villian of the story."
"Something tells me I would rather know about it later."
"Has G-Dragon replied yet?" Zoey asked looking at me.
"No," I replied as I looked at the phone in my hand. "I wonder why he hasn't."
"Maybe he's in the shower. Give him time. He will reply."
I decided to let this go and relax. Somehow, I couldn't help the feeling that something was up.
I went to the lounge with Lee and told her that Derrick was coming here.
"Wow, seriously?" Lee asked. "I can't wait to meet him in person."
"Ya, I hope Zoey doesn't freak out when she sees him."
My phone in my hand beeped and I quickly looked at it. Thinking it was G-Dragon, I found a message from Daesung, saying that he would be coming to the hotel.
"Is that G-Dragon?" Lee asked.
"No. It wasn't him."
"You seem really worried about all this. By the way, is Collins in his room? I haven't seen him."
"He left. Said he had things to do."
There was a loud yawn coming from the hall and walking in their pyjamas and night gowns were Daniel and Mike. They came into the lounge looking awfully sleepy.
"Morning, boys," I said with a smile.
"Morning," said Daniel. "You guys are up so early."
"I really want to go back to sleep right now but Daniel here woke me up," said Mike.
"Sorry, but we have so much to do today, I just had to wake up. I'm also as tired as you are."
"I better go and wake Christine up," said Lee. She left the lounge.
"You guys go take a shower and get dressed," I said as I looked at my brothers. "I'll order us breakfast."
It was almost close to eight when the six of us were all settled down at the dining table having breakfast.
"What time is Derrick coming?" Lee asked as she looked at me sitting across the table.
"You sound really excited to meet him," said Zoey.
I looked at Lee and she was looking back at me. At the same time we both smiled at each other.
"May I ask why you two are smiling at each other like that?" Christine asked as she was sitting right next to Lee, looking at her, then at me.
"Nothing," I replied as I took a sip of my juice, trying to hide my smile.
"Whatever they are smiling about, I hope it has nothing to do with me," said Zoey, who sat next to me.
I almost spat out my juice so that I could laugh, but I ended up smiling even more. Lee hid her smile as she chewed on her toast. If only Zoey knew that she was about to receive the shock of her life.
The land line phone soon started to ring and I stood up from the table to answer it. When I took the receiver, it was from the receptionist downstairs saying that there was someone who had come to see me. It was Derrick.
"You can tell him to come up, thanks," I said as I put down the receiver afterwards.
"Is he here?" Lee asked, looking at me.
"Geez," said Daniel looking at Lee. "What's with all the excitement if I may ask?"
"Nothing," Lee replied.
"Now I'm also curious," said Mike as he turned to look at me. "Is there something we're missing out here?"
"I'll let you see it for yourself," I said.
I soon heard the sound of the elevator and I went into the hall. I could hear the sound of chairs at the dining table being drawn back. The others came in the hall, standing behind me.
"Hi, Derrick," I said with a smile as Derrick stepped out of the elevator.
"Hi, hope I'm not too late," said Derrick looking really nice in a white t-shirt and blue jeans. He surprised me this time around. The last time I saw him, he wore a suit. Almost like his brother.
"No, you're not. You're actually right on time."
I noticed the silence behind me and I turned to look at the others who had their mouths gaping wide open, except from Lee, of course. Zoey looked like she was about to faint.
"Guys, for those of you who don't know," I said, "this is Derrick, Jehan's brother."
"Hello, everyone," greeted Derrick.
"Hello," said Lee with a huge smile on her face. The rest of the Toxins were quiet. Until....
"OMG, you look just like Jehan!" said Christine.
"Except for his hair and his eyes," said Daniel.
"Is that even possible when it comes to twins?" Mike asked with a confused look on his face. He turned to look at Derrick. "You and Jehan aren't twins, right?"
Derrick chuckled. He must have found their shock quiet amusing. "No," he replied. "I'm actually older than him, a year and some months."
"A year?" Lee asked looking surprised. "Anyone could easily mistake you two for twins."
"Who decided to have different hair colour and wore eye contacts," said Mike.
"I know," said Derrick with a smile. "Looking at Zoey, she seems kind of freaked out."
We all turned to look at Zoey and she looked as white as a sheet. She hadn't said a word since Derrick walked in.
"Zoey, are you okay?" Daniel asked.
"I...I...I...I," Zoey stammered her eyes fixed on Derrick the whole time.
Christine who stood next to her gave a slap, which wasn't loud but hard enough to snap her out of her stammering.
"I'm okay," said Zoey after the slap. "For a moment there you scared the heck out of me. You look just like Jehan."
"Ya, I get that a lot," said Derrick with a smile and slowly nodding his head.
"Sorry, I probably look like a freak," Zoey looked a little red faced.
"It's cool. I know how dealing with my brother is. He isn't the nicest of people."
"He is such a jerk."
"Tell me about it."
"No wonder Sam and Lee were smiling at each other when they talked about you. They knew I would freak out."
"This would have been the perfect Halloween prank," said Mike.
Daniel laughed. "So true. I could already imagine it."
"You better find a better prank than this one," said Zoey. "Because Sam has already killed it. That's because I never knew that Jehan had a brother."
"So, do you want to join us for breakfast?" I asked as I looked at Derrick who seemed to be enjoying the conversation.
"Coffee would be nice," said Derrick. "I already had a heavy breakfast."
"Oh, I didn't thank you for the roses yesterday. They were so lovely. Thank you."
"Wait, he sent you those flowers?" Zoey asked.
"Yes, I did," Derrick answered.
"That was so sweet," said Christine. "You made someone pretty jealous yesterday when you sent those roses."
"Who?" Derrick asked.
"Doesn't matter," said Zoey as she came over to Derrick and wrapped her arm around his elbow, leading him to the lounge. "I have a lot of questions for you. Do you know you look just like those handsome Greek gods?"
I laughed when I looked at Derrick and Zoey head to the lounge while the others followed behind them.
"This is going to get interesting," said Lee as she stayed in the hall with me.
"I'm still worried about G-Dragon though," I said.
"Why? What's up with him now?"
"Nothing. He hasn't replied to my message yet. What if he comes here?"
"No. He shouldn't even try to. We need you around."
"I know. That's what I'm afraid of."
"Do you have some serious issues pending?"
"Well, yes. It's about Zoey."
"Zoey? How?"
"He doesn't think that Zoey is okay with him and I being together."
"That explains his attitude at the bus yesterday before you got in."
"I'm glad you noticed."
"Okay, let's just go and pretend with Derrick that everything is fine and pray that G-Dragon doesn't come here."
Lee and I went back to the lounge and already, the conversation was at full swing. Derrick sat on my seat with Zoey next to him. The Toxins were all chatting with Derrick like they had known him forever.
"Wow, may I ask what's going on here?" I asked as I sat at the head of the table where Collins usually sits.
"Talking with Derrick," said Christine. "Any problem with that?"
"No, I'm glad you guys are getting along just fine."
"Ya, he is nice," said Zoey. "And way more handsome than Jehan."
"I beg to differ," I joked as I sipped on my juice.
"What does that mean?" Derrick asked, looking at me.
"Nothing," I replied teasingly.
The land line started to ring again and this time, Lee went over to answer it. While she had the receiver to her ear, Lee looked up at me with a shocking look on her face. I gave Lee a questioning look.
"What is it, Lee?" I asked.
"G-Dragon is here," Lee answered.
Dang it! I knew this would happen. He just had to come here. No wonder he didn't reply to my message. He was coming to take me no matter what.
"What is he doing here?" Zoey asked. "No one invited him."
"And it's not like we told him about our plans, did we?" Mike asked.
"No, he's here for me," I said.
"Oooh! How sweet," said Christine. "Looks like he wants to take his lovely princess away somewhere."
"Are you two dating now?" Derrick asked.
"Who's asking?" Zoey asked mockingly as she put her elbow on the table and her balled fist pressed below her chin. "Derrick or Derrick that sent her flowers yesterday?"
"You're so ridiculous, Zoey," said Daniel, shaking his head.
"I'm only asking."
"Okay, first of all, Zoey, you should really learn how to ask appropriate questions," I said.
"What?" Zoey shrugged her shoulders. "I was only joking around."
"And second of all," I turned to Derrick. "G-Dragon and I are not dating."
"What are we going to do with GD?" Daniel asked. "If the others come here and he is still around, he will start to get suspicious."
"I'll have to talk to him, then," I said as I stood up from the chair.
"You won't need to go downstairs," said Lee. "He's already coming up."
"Are you serious?" Zoey asked. "I never heard you tell the receptionist to tell him to come up."
"The receptionist told me just now that he is."
The sound of the elevator doors opening came in the lounge. For a moment, there was silence when we heard footsteps. Yikes! He was here.
When G-Dragon came into the lounge, I looked up at him. Zoey on the other hand, played around with her breakfast, not looking up at GD as he walked in.
"GD, you're here!" I said as I walked up to him and gave him a hug. He hugged me back.
"Sorry, to barge in while you're having breakfast," said G-Dragon, as he looked at everyone at the dining table. "But I had to come."
"No problem," said Mike. "It's good to see you."
"You should join us for breakfast," said Christine. "What do you think?"
I noticed the way Zoey looked at Christine like she was about to skin her alive. I wondered what Christine was playing at.
"No thanks," said G-Dragon giving Christine a smile. "I'll pass. I just came here for Sam."
"Awww, so sweet," said Lee. "You're acting so lovestruck with her right now."
"Maybe I am," said G-Dragon as he looked at me and smiled.
"Oh, I almost forgot to introduce you to someone," I said, looking at G-Dragon. Then I turned to Derrick. "Ji Yong meet Derrick. Derrick, Ji Yong."
Derrick gave G-Dragon a brief wave and said hi. G-Dragon replied back.
"Aren't you the one who sent Sam flowers yesterday?" G-Dragon asked.
For a moment, everyone grew quiet. I looked from Derrick to G-Dragon. The two were looking at each other and I couldn't help but wonder what was running in those minds of theirs.
"Yes, I sent her the flowers," Derrick answered.
"How do you know that?" I asked G-Dragon.
"I read the note found in the bouquet. Hope you aren't mad."
I didn't know whether to be mad at him or at myself for not throwing that note away. I just hope he wasn't going to ask further questions about Derrick and why he is here.
"It's fine," I said trying not to look troubled.
"Okay, so I came here for you," said G-Dragon as he looked at me with a smile on his face. "Shall we go?"
"Where are we going?"
He smiled. "Anywhere."
"Okay. I'm done with my breakfast. Let me just go and get my purse. Ummm, Lee, can you help me with something?"
"Sure," said Lee, nodding her head.
Lee and I left the lounge and went to my room. When I got into the room first, I started to breathe heavily and I looked at Lee as she quickly closed the door behind her.
"That was awkward," said Lee. "Especially with GD and Derrick."
"Ya, pretty awkward," I said. "What am I going to do? G-Dragon is taking me out when we need to go through our last minute plans."
"As much as I think it's romantic that he wants to spend so much time with you, it's unfair that you've to go. We need you around."
"I know. But I just have to go. You know what to do, right?"
"Yes. Make sure you come back before we go and meet Jehan."
"Sure." I looked around the room. "Where is my purse?"
As soon as I got my purse, I went out of the room with Lee behind me. I went back in the lounge where G-Dragon was talking with the others and surprisingly with Derrick. Except from Zoey, of course.
"I'm ready to go, GD," I said as I placed my hand on his shoulder as I came up behind him.
"Okay," said G-Dragon. "I'll see you guys later."
"Have fun," said Daniel.
"Oh, we will."
I waved to others and they waved back. Lee gave me a wink and mouthed out "have fun." I smiled at her and I felt G-Dragon slide his hand into mine and wrapped his fingers around it.
"Let's go," said G-Dragon with a smile.
The two of us went hand in hand towards the elevator and got in. We reached the lobby and when we got out into the parking lot, we approached G-Dragon's car. He opened the door for me and I got in. He went to the driver's seat.
"Where are we going?" I asked as G-Dragon started the car's engine.
"I just want to talk," he said as he looked at me.
"Oh." I raised an eyebrow. I didn't ask any further.
G-Dragon drove the car out of the hotel's gates when he asked, "what was your fan doing there at the hotel today?"
I knew this question was going to come up first. I thought of a quick answer.
"He isn't really a fan," I answered. "He's just a friend."
"Really? I thought he was one of those sneaky fans who try to get close to you."
"You sound jealous. Don't worry about him. He's nothing but a good friend."
"When you say 'good friend' it sounds like you and him are really close."
"We aren't really close. He's a nice guy."
"Are you sure he is that nice?"
"He is. Don't tell me you don't like him just because you're jealous."
"No. Even if I am, I can't help but realise that he looks really familiar. Like I have seen him before."
"Seen him before? From where?" I was a little confused.
"I don't know. I feel like I've seen him though."
It then came to me that G-Dragon, must have seen Jehan and not Derrick when he went to the fashion show in Paris. The two were almost identical and could easily be mistaken for the same person.
"Oh, really?" I acted a little surprised. "Maybe you must have seen someone else."
"Maybe. But I still don't think he's that trustworthy."
"Let's not talk about that. You wanted to talk about something, didn't you?"
"You're right. I wanted to talk about Zoey."
"Come on, GD," I turned to look at him. "When are you going to let this go?"
G-Dragon didn't say anything for a while and that worried me. Is there something he wasn't telling me? His silence made the wheels in my head spin even more. When I knew he wasn't going to answer me or say anything else, I continued to look ahead and stayed quiet too.
A few minutes later, we found ourselves at his apartment. That sent me thinking. Why come here to his apartment when he said we would be going somewhere? I wasn't expecting that we would actually come here.
G-Dragon packed his car in the underground parking lot. As soon as we got out of the car, we went to the elevator. When we got in, I looked at G-Dragon and asked:
"What are we doing here, Ji Yong?"
"You and I need to talk and I think that it was best we came here to my apartment. Besides, I have something for you."
"Something for me? What is it?"
G-Dragon looked at me and he had that devious smile on his face. What could he really be up to this time around?
"I won't tell you what it is," he said as he drew closer to me. He came and whispered in my ear. "If you do something for me, I'll give it you."
Him being so close to me made my cheeks blush and I felt my heart beat quicken. I didn't like the game GD was playing and I didn't like the way he was making me feel.
When he drew away from my ear and looked at me, I looked away and tucked a hair behind my ear.
"I like it when you blush like that."
"What can I do when you keep on talking to me like that?"
I looked at him and he was still looking at me with that devious smile still on his face. Him being so close to me was driving me crazy. I was afraid I might just pull him close and kiss him.
When the doors flew open, I quickly stepped out of the elevator and into his luxury apartment. G-Dragon came right behind me. I slowly went into the living area and just as I threw my purse on the couch, I suddenly felt G-Dragon come right from behind and wrapped his arms around me.
"Ah!" I was a little shocked by his action. "What are you doing?"
"I'm just glad to have you in my arms, that's all," said G-Dragon as he smelt my hair and swung me with him from side to side. "I can stay like this forever with you."
I closed my eyes as I felt the comfort in his arms. It felt so good having him so close to me. At first, when he had first wrapped around me, an exciting chill ran down my spine.
"I also feel like staying like this," I said with a smile on my face.
"We should," he said. He then kissed me on my cheek.
"What is you wanted to give me?" I asked.
"I won't give it to you right now." He took my hand and spun me around so that I could look at him. "I would give it to you, later on."
"Later on?" I looked at him with my eyebrow raised. "How later on?"
"You don't sound too happy about it," said G-Dragon with a concerned look on his face. "Did you have other plans?"
"Uh...no. Not really." I gave him a smile.
"Good. Because you and I are going to spend the whole day together."
G-Dragon had a huge smile on his face when he let go of my hand and went to the kitchen. I looked at him as he passed the counter and he went to the fridge. I was a little confused. We were going to spend the whole day together?
This was bad. Real bad! What was I going to do? I had to go back no matter what. And I couldn't without telling GD the truth. I was afraid that if I lied, he would see right through me. What to do, what to do!
"Do you want water or juice?" G-Dragon asked from the kitchen.
"Juice would be fine," I said as I walked into the kitchen area and came up behind him.
He came up with a jug of orange juice and set it on the kitchen table then went to get a glass from the cupboard.
"So, what are we going to do now since we are spending the day together?" I asked as I leaned my elbows on the table.
"Stuff," he said when he came by the table and poured juice in my cup. "We going to have a lot of fun."
"Mmm," I murmed as I got the cup and took a sip of the orange juice.
In the next two hours, G-Dragon and I were in the living room, chatting and laughing. I laid my head on his lap while the rest of my body laid on the couch while we talked.
We talked about a lot concerning our lives. Our childhood, our lives in the music industry and sharing our worst fears. I felt he and I had a lot in common especially when it came to the fact that he and I were both leaders in our respective groups.
"I think your group is way better to handle than mine," I said as I stared up at the ceiling.
"Why do you say that?" G-Dragon asked as he stroked my hair.
"Have you seen my members?" I laughed. "We're complete children. I now see why Collins calls us monkeys. If it's one thing we're good at, it's creating problems."
"Isn't that why you're the leader?"
"It's really hard. Not only do I have to look after my brothers like a sister, but also as The Toxins' leader. And then there is my cousin, Christine. So, she is more like a sister. Then, there is Zoey, my best friend. Really hard to get under control, but my best friend nonetheless."
"How do you even handle Zoey? I mean, sometimes she is really melodramatic."
I smiled as I turned to look at G-Dragon. "Zoey might be like that, but she is my best friend. We've been like that since kindergarten. Though she gets into trouble a lot, it's just part of her life. And as her best friend, I understand her really well. Trouble is her middle name and sometimes it just comes out of nowhere."
"Does she get into serious trouble? More like the illegal kind?"
I raised an eyebrow at him. "No. Why do you ask?"
"Nothing, I just feel Zoey is nothing but trouble."
"Please, stop acting like Collins. He always says that."
"Sam, I know that Zoey got involved with a diamond smuggler."
My eyes grew wide by the news and when I quickly sat up on the couch, I felt my head spinning.
"How do you know all that?" I asked as I looked at G-Dragon.
"I was at the bus waiting for you guys and I found it really suspicious that you and Zoey didn't show up with Christine. And on top of that, Seungri and TOP weren't in the bus either. Daesung and Taeyang went after you, but I decided to follow behind them. When they found you in the trailer, I heard the explanation you gave that Zoey was in trouble and that she was involved with a diamond smuggler."
I completely had no words. Gosh! No wonder his temper towards Zoey was twice as high as the usual. And just by looking at him, I could tell he was still upset.
I didn't say anything as I looked down at my fingers. This was going to be tough. I didn't even know where to start.
"Why didn't you tell me what was going on?" G-Dragon asked.
I said without looking at him, "I was going to. But after what you told her after I ran after her yesterday got me thinking. You were really upset and I know you care about me. And if you ever did find out, you weren't going to allow me to help her."
What I said made my mind tick and I realised that I had just answered the question I had asked myself earlier when G-Dragon brought me to his apartment. Why I was here.
"Is that why you brought me here?" I looked at G-Dragon.
"No," he said as he looked at me. "Maybe."
"Then why am I here?"
The look in his eyes became intense. I waited for him to say something.
"I was hoping I could convince you not to go ahead with whatever you have come up with to stop this diamond smuggler. But I know, even if I try to, you wouldn't listen to me."
I was little shell shocked. "You're right. There is nothing you can do to convince me not to."
"Aren't you scared? What if this guy is very dangerous?"
"He is."
"And you're still going through with it? Are you nuts?"
"Well, we all are crazy in one way or another, aren't we?"
G-Dragon sighed. "I don't like the fact that you're doing this for Zoey."
"She's my best friend."
"But there is a limit to friendship, you know? I know you always get her out of trouble but I believe she has gone way too far with this."
"It isn't her fault that she got herself into this mess. I can't bear to see her in trouble and I have no other choice but to help her out."
"And how were you helping her out when you weren't even talking to each other for a while?"
"I was suspicious from the time she met the diamond smuggler at the café. The guy you met at the hotel is the brother to the diamond smuggler and he is trying to help us out."
G-Dragon gave me a questioning look on his face. "What! Are you serious? Why didn't you tell me?"
"Well, I never knew you knew about Zoey. Give me a break."
"This just got complicated and confusing. No wonder he looked so familiar. Are they twins? I remember the other had black hair."
"No, they aren't twins. Derrick is older than him. But they are really identical."
"And you say he is helping you out?"
"Yes, he is."
"Why didn't you involve the police then?"
"If we ever did, I'm afraid Zoey wasn't going to be the only person getting hurt. And besides, all this would be tricky. We would have to gather convincing evidence if we were to call the police. And Jehan is really smart by the looks of things."
G-Dragon shook his head and got up from the couch. I knew he was trying to take it all in. He slowly walked up and down deep in thought.
"What are you thinking about now?" I asked as I put my feet down on to the floor.
He stopped pacing and stood in front of me. I looked up at him and he looked down at me.
"I don't think you should go through with this," he said.
"Don't tell me it's because you think it's dangerous."
"Well, of course it is."
"Come on, GD. You might refuse but you aren't going to stop me."
"Why do you even want to do this when you know you might just get hurt?"
"Because Zoey is my best friend. And best friends help each other out no matter what."
G-Dragon slowly knelt in front of me. He placed his hand on my knees and looked at me. I looked back at him.
"Looks like even if I try to convince you not to go, you will still do so."
"Yes, I would. I'm sorry if you think I'm crazy....."
"Which you're."
I smiled. "....but I'm not going to abandon Zoey. Not now when she really needs me the most. I know you don't agree to it and I don't blame you. But if you aren't with me on this one, I'm not going to convince you to help me out. Besides, you and I have had a number of differences these past few weeks. So, this won't be the first time."
I knew it stung saying that, but I had to had to be really honest with him. The look in his eyes told me he was hurt and I felt so bad.
"I'm sorry," I said.
"No, it's fine," said G-Dragon standing up and turning away. "I could see Zoey is way more important than you and I."
I stood up from the couch and I was facing G-Dragon's back. I placed a hand on his shoulder.
"That's not true," I said.
"I don't know what to think anymore."
He was breaking and I was too. How I wish he could understand what I must and should do. But it looks like it was going to be difficult.
With my hand still on his shoulder, my phone started ringing in my purse. There was an awkward silence between the two of us as the phone continued ringing.
"Aren't you going to get that?" G-Dragon asked.
I slowly withdrew my hand from his shoulder and went over to get the phone in my purse on the other couch. I took my purse and took my phone out. Zoey was calling.
"I knew it," I heard G-Dragon mutter behind me and when I turned to look at him, he was heading out of the living room area and went to his room. I almost called out to him but I decided not to and answered Zoey's call instead.
"Hi, Zoey."
"Hey, Sam. Are you on your way now or are you still with G-Dragon?"
"What do you think?" I rolled my eyes.
"Oh, okay. We still need you back here."
I rubbed my face in frustration thinking of what to say next. "Ya, I know."
"You sound really frustrated, Sam. Did the two of you argue again?"
"Yes, we did."
"Was it about me?"
"Yep."
"Oh gosh. I'm so sorry, Sam. Even in your love life, I'm still causing you problems."
"Don't say that, Zoey. You're making me feel as guilty as I am already."
"Sorry. I bet now isn't the right time to tell you to come back. Looks like you two still have a lot of things to talk about."
"Judging by the way things have turned out, I'm guessing our conversation is over. I'll be coming back to the hotel."
"Oh, okay. We will be waiting."
I cut the call and put the phone back in my purse. I stood there for a while thinking if I should tell G-Dragon that I was leaving. But I didn't want to be rude. Yet again, it looked like he wasn't willing to talk to me either.
I decided to go and tell him that I was leaving. When I turned towards the direction to the hall leading to his room, he stood there by the door way, looking at me.
"I see you're planning on leaving," said G-Dragon.
I didn't say anything as I looked down at the floor. My silence was more than enough to tell him that I was leaving.
"I wanted to give you something but now I'm thinking twice if I should or not. Considering that I wanted you to stay here with me."
"I'm sorry it had to end this way," I said.
"I know. Let me take you back to the hotel. Is that okay with you?"
I nodded my head, still not looking at him. And just as I expected when we went out of his apartment, we were silent and never spoke again. There was completely nothing to talk about. I knew he was still upset, and here I was planning to go up against all odds in the most dangerous way possible.
We arrived at the hotel and G-Dragon packed the car at the entrance. For a moment, I didn't want to get out of the car. I wanted to tell him something that was aching so hard in my chest, yet I didn't know what that thing was.
"Please be careful," said G-Dragon as he looked at me. "I know I don't agree to all this, but I don't want to see you get hurt."
"I will," I said giving him a smile that soon vanished.
I quickly got out of the car and headed up to the glass doors of the entrance. I paused as I stood by the door and I turned around to look at G-Dragon's car. I looked through the car window and I could see him staring at me. I slowly raised my hand and waved. He also did the same, then drove off. I felt my heart ache even more when I saw his car drive away. I wanted to chase after it and call out to him to stop. I quickly shook my head at the thought and walked into the lobby.
Just as I was about to head into the elevator, I felt something from behind grab my leg. It felt really odd and I when I looked down to see what was grabbing my leg, I was greeted by a wonderful surprise.
Hugging my leg was a little girl, the same girl I had met the day we came here to Korea. Her cute black beaded eyes stared up at me in the most cute and adorable way. She also gave me that bright warm smile of hers.
"Ah! You," I said as I picked her up from the ground and carried her in my arms. "Nice to see you again."
She hugged me and I gave a small heart felt laugh. She was so adorable.
Her mother who had come in the lobby came over to me holding a few grocery bags in her hands.
"Now I see why she came running in like that," said her mother with a smile on her face.
"She's my number one fan. No doubt about it." I looked at the little girl who had her head on my shoulder.
I gently put her down on the floor. The girl went besides her mother and held her mother's hand.
"Bye," I said as I waved at her and she happily waved back.
I also said bye to her mother and the two went to the elevator. I smiled at the pair. I also felt a sense of relief. Seconds ago, I was so shattered, broken. But since the little girl came along, I was smiling like crazy.
As I stood there in the lobby, I was approached by a small group of fans, all young high school girls, asking for my autograph. I happily obliged to their demands and soon afterwards, I went up the elevator to my floor.
As soon as the doors flew open, I stepped out of the elevator and went into the lobby where The Toxins, four BigBang members, Derrick and Lee were all seated and waiting for me.
"Finally, you're here," said Zoey.
"Zoey told us where you were," said Taeyang. "How are things with Ji Yong?"
"Not good, I'm afraid," I answered. "He knows."
"Knows what?" Daesung asked.
"About Zoey and Jehan."
"Oh, my goodness," Zoey muttered, looking shocked. "I'm so dead."
"What flowers would you like on your grave, Zoey?" Mike asked.
"Are you seriously asking me that right now?"
"Well, someone has to start preparing for your funeral. And I care so much, so why not me?"
"Is he mad?" Lee asked me.
"Of course he is," said Zoey. "There is completely no doubt about that."
"But we are still going through with the plan right?" Derrick asked.
"Of course we are," I said. "And I think I've one more extra idea in case things go wrong as planned."
"What?" everyone asked at the same time.
"You'll see. But first, we need to give Jehan a call."
