Narrator's P.O.V
The door to the car flew open and Jehan smartly stepped out. He had his expensive Gucci shades on and he slid his black silky hair back with his hand. He looked at the huge magnificent building before him. The Seoul Arts Centre. One of the must see sites to visit in Seoul. The Arts complex had five buildings. The Opera house, the Seoul Calligraphy Arts Museum, the Music building, the Hangaram Art Museum and the Hangaram Design Museum.
Jehan had parked right outside the Opera House and tourists moved up and down the place taking in the wonderful surrounding from the outside and others had gone inside the building.
Jehan looked at his gold Rolex watch and frowned. It was only 4:50 pm. The mysterious man who had called him yesterday texted him to meet here at five. But where to look for him in such a big building left Jehan wondering what to do next.
For a minute, he didn't know why he was even there in the first place. For him, it was a weird place to meet someone. Why an arts centre of all places? If it was one thing Jehan disliked so much, was art of any kind.
He might have beautiful expensive art pictures in his own house, but even then, he didn't look at them for the sake of marvel or enjoyment. He only had them put up because his mother advised him to and said that pictures make the house look more lively. And he couldn't refuse his own mother anyway.
He isn't a fan of music either. And him staying here in South Korea was killing him. Not when you're driving around the local streets of Seoul and hear k-pop music everywhere. As much as music touches the soul, it never touched his. Maybe classic opera music, but any kind was like a screeching noise to his ears which irritated him.
He still stood there beside his car with two of his bodyguards standing on either side of him. They were tall and looked liked weight lifters. They even wore black suits. With them around, you could feel safe. That's why Jehan had them with him today. Jehan wasn't liking the fact that he was meeting some random stranger who called him completely out of nowhere. He had to come with backup in case anything bad happened.
"Are we going to go in, Monsieur?" one of the bodyguards asked Jehan.
"We are," said Jehan as he looked at the time on his watch. "But it's weird that I'm meeting this person here."
"I also find it strange," said the other body guard. "What if it's a trap?"
"That's why you two are here," said Jehan. "And besides, if this person stole that teddy from Zoey and wants to propose a deal, I'll see about it."
The phone in his pocket beeped and when he took it out to check, he found a message from the stranger. He texted that Jehan should come to the opera building.
"Let's go to the opera house," said Jehan. "We are to meet him from there."
Jehan and his two body guards started to head towards the building. As they entered through the open doors, standing by the entrance looking like an ordinary tourist, stood Mike. He was all dressed in black and wore a hooded jersey so that he could hide his face and that no one could recognise him.
Taking his phone out of his pocket, he called the person at the other end of the line announcing that Jehan had entered the building with two men.
Afterwards, he followed the three men down the open wide hall of the building. There were tourists and local people, some huddled up in groups looking around the luxurious hall. The three men were heading towards the auditorium. But the thing about the opera house is that it had three grand auditoriums. Someone had to guide the men where to go, and why not Mike?
Almost at the end of the hall, stood three wide doors. One to the left, the other to the right and the other at the far end of the hall. The three men paused as they looked at each of the closed doors.
"Is this some kind of a game?" Jehan asked impatiently. "Which auditorium should we go in now?"
The bodyguards also looked as confused as Jehan. When Mike came up behind them, he had a black face mask on covering the lower part of his face except his eyes. He slowly tapped Jehan at the back of his shoulder. Jehan turned around and so did his bodyguards.
"Who are you?" Jehan asked.
Mike didn't say a word. He looked at Jehan and motioned with his head to the left, to the doors on the left side. He then started his way towards door to the auditorium. Jehan and the bodyguards took it as a sign to follow him.
Mike opened the huge door and allowed Jehan and his bodyguards to enter. When they did, Mike also came in and closed the door behind him.
Music filled the whole auditorium as Jehan and his men stepped in. There was an orchestra playing in the opera pit close to the stage. Jehan recognised the tune almost immediately. A Mozart classic. One of his favourites.
The sitting area of the magnificent auditorium was completely empty. There was no audience. Even the balcony seats were empty too. Why is there no audience here when there was a live orchestra playing?
Jehan looked around the place with a confused look on his face wondering what was going on. It was then that Mike came from behind still with the mask on that he motioned for the three men to follow him down the aisle.
As they bypassed the proscenium arch, towards the best seats close to the stage, Jehan noticed a man seated on one of the red velvet seats, staring at the orchestra. Jehan hadn't noticed him there before when he came in. Maybe he just hadn't looked around properly.
Mike stopped close to the row in which the strange man was sitting in and he gestured with his hand to Jehan that that was the person he had come to meet.
"Is it him?" Jehan asked, looking at Mike as he pointed at the stranger.
Mike nodded his head, still not saying a word. He soon went up the aisle, back the way he came and vanished into the semi-darkness.
Jehan paused for a moment as he went on to stare at the stranger, all dressed in black and also had a face mask on just like the one who had brought him down here.
The stranger had not acknowledged Jehan's presence because he seemed too fixed on the orchestra playing before him. He looked relaxed as he enjoyed the beautiful tune. He had both of his arms rested on either side on the top of the chairs and his hand was swinging back and forth to the tune.
Jehan looked at the stranger and wondered what he was up against. Could this really be the man who had called him over the phone? As much as he looked relaxed, Jehan could tell he was one man who shouldn't be messed around with. Maybe the man chose this place for a purpose. Judging by the way his hands were swaying to the music, he was definitely one who is a fan of classical music too.
"Stay here," said Jehan, addressing his two guards. "And keep your eyes open for anything suspicious."
"Don't you think his men are also around the place?" one of them asked.
"Of course they are. If things don't go according to plan, you know what to do."
"Yes, Monsieur," the two men replied.
Jehan took a deep breath and entered the row in which the stranger was sitting in. He sat in the middle and when Jehan got to him, the stranger's eyes were now fixed on him.
"Ah! You finally came," said the stranger. "For a moment there, I thought you were never going to show up and enjoy this classical music with me."
"What am I doing here?" Jehan asked.
"Aren't you a fan of classical music?"
"I am."
"Good. Looks like I chose the right place then. Sit down."
Jehan did as he was told and he felt like a puppet. One thing he didn't like was someone ordering him around. Apart from his mother, of course. He was always in control. Even with his illegal business and the person who he barely even knew was telling him to sit down. What was going on today?
The two sat in silence as they watched the orchestra play their beautiful piece of music.
After a while, Jehan tapped his foot. That meant he was impatient. He looked at the stranger next to him who was still looking at the orchestra and enjoying himself. He didn't like the fact that he was sitting here when he came here for something else. The teddy bear.
"Aren't you going to give me what I came here for?" Jehan asked.
"What?" the stranger turned to look at Jehan.
"You know, the diamonds?"
The stranger raised an eyebrow. Jehan couldn't tell if the man was smiling and finding this amusing. Jehan didn't like his attitude and he was starting to lose his patience.
"Don't worry about the diamonds, Jehan," said the stranger as he turned to look at his companion beside him. "When you agree to work with me your diamonds will be my diamonds."
"Excuse me?" Jehan was surprised. "Work for you?"
"Don't you like the idea?"
Jehan furrowed his eyebrows as he turned to the orchestra, hoping the music could soothe his temper.
"No, I don't like the idea," said Jehan. "I work alone."
"I can see that," said the stranger. "That's why you've been doing big. But you know you can't go on your own forever. You will need help as time goes by."
"I've been doing fine on my own just like you've said. I don't need anyone's help, better yet from you."
"Oh, really? Tell me Jehan, how have your recent clients been lately? I heard things aren't going so well."
Jehan felt his world spinning all of the sudden. He looked at the stranger beside him, feeling as surprised as ever. How could he have known what's been going on with his clients?
Jehan thought for a moment and realised this man beside him knew more than he had ever imagined. First he introduced himself to Jehan knowing who he was and now he knew about Jehan's clients. Who was this guy?
"What are you talking about?" Jehan asked.
"I know a lot about you than you think, Jehan." The stranger turned to look at Jehan. "And I can help you, you know?"
"As I said before, I don't need your help. I might have problems with my clients but that doesn't mean I need your assistance."
"Oh, but you do. With my help and your brillance in smuggling diamonds, you and I can be the perfect team."
"I don't need to hear such nonsense from you. I'm better off on my own, thanks. I'll need the teddy bear back and I'll be on my way."
"Well, that's a disappointment," said the stranger. "You are more stubborn to convince than I thought."
"You're right about that. Now can you please give me the teddy. I'm done with this conversation."
"I'll give you your teddy. After the orchestra is done playing."
"What?" Jehan sounded surprised. "Are you serious right now?"
"You're fan of classical music, right? So why don't we just listen together and you can get your teddy afterwards."
"No. I want the teddy, now."
The stranger didn't say anything as he went back to staring at the orchestra and started murmuring to the music.
Jehan rolled his eyes in irritation and decided to lean back on his chair and do nothing. If he wanted, he could have pointed a gun to this man's head, but he couldn't for two reasons. One, he had no gun on him, which was dumb of him not to have one. And two, the man sitting beside him seemed dangerous. His people were probably everywhere around the auditorium and it would be dumb of him to make a move.
As soon as the orchestra was done playing, the stranger beside Jehan clapped for their wonderful performance. Jehan didn't know whether to clap or just sit there and wait. He had his arms folded the entire time and he was so glad that the performance was over.
"Wasn't that wonderful?" the stranger asked.
"Ya, it was," said Jehan dully. "Can I have the teddy now?"
The orchestra started to leave the orchestra pit and head backstage.
"What's the rush, Jehan?" the stranger asked. "I am going to give you your teddy back. But I want to ask you a few questions first."
Jehan looked at the stranger and he made sure to show the irritation on his face.
"Are you serious? I thought our conversation was over," said Jehan.
"Well, not yet. It's over when I say it's over."
The sound in the stranger's voice seemed calm yet there was a tone of authority in it that moved Jehan in the worst way. He felt like he was now seeing the dangerous side of this guy and if Jehan had to do anything stupid, he might just end up dead on the floor even before he realises it.
"Fine. What is it you want to ask?" Jehan asked.
"I want to know something," said the stranger. "I'm just trying to figure out why you chose that girl to bring those diamonds of yours here in Korea. Ummmm, what's her name again?"
"Zoey, her name is Zoey," said Jehan trying to hide the irritation in his voice.
"Yes, Zoey. Why did you pick her? I mean, you could have easily smuggled diamonds here on your own."
"Why I chose her?" Jehan repeated the question, trying to take it all in. "Well, I think there were a lot of reasons I chose her to transport the diamonds. First of all I knew she came in a private jet and there is less security there."
"That I already know. You could have chosen anyone, but why her?"
"Why are you even asking?"
"I just want to know why you picked some superstar. I have to say, your pick was quiet unusual."
Jehan leaned back further in his seat. "I just felt she was one who could easily be manipulated. She's a savage fighter, no doubt about it. But she's vulnerable and I easily took advantage of that. She's one who wouldn't like others around her to get hurt, like weak people do."
The stranger nodded his head. "Taking advantage of the weak. Nice. You and I have a lot in common."
"Is that why you want me to join you?"
"Of course. I wouldn't have asked you now, would I?"
Jehan didn't reply as his eyes drifted to the dark empty stage. For a moment there, he thought he saw something moving within the shadows. But when he looked again, he didn't see anything. Must have been the trick of the mind.
"Anyway, I already told you that I work alone. Now, I would really like to have my teddy back."
"Sure. Why not?"
The stranger looked at the stage and as though in command, he clapped loudly two times and the main spotlight went on. The rest of the lights in the auditorium went off and Jehan turned his attention to the spot where the spotlight hit the stage. And what he saw, made his mouth drop.
Sitting on a wooden chair on stage, was the little teddy bear in his suit. Jehan was confused if not dumbstruck with what was going on. He turned to look at the stranger beside him and he could tell he was smiling just by the look in his eyes.
"Wh-what's going on here?" Jehan looked back at the teddy on stage, then to the stranger. "Why is the teddy bear on stage?"
"You wanted the teddy back," said the stranger and he pointed at the teddy. "There it is. You can go get it."
Jehan looked at the stranger and then he went to look at his guards who were still standing on the aisle and were looking at the teddy on stage. They were also surprised and confused as their boss. The two guards looked at Jehan, waiting for further instructions.
"This is absurd!" Jehan exclaimed angrily as he quickly stood up from his seat, his face as red as a hot chili pepper.
"Whoa!" the stranger said as he raised his hand at Jehan. Jehan kept his mouth shut before he could say anything else. "Relax, Jehan. You should learn to chill."
"Chill! How do you want me to....?"
The stranger quickly stood up from his seat and faced Jehan. Jehan kept his mouth shut. The stranger was a lot taller than Jehan expected. And for a moment, Jehan could feel himself shivering. But he wasn't going to let this man in front of him enjoy his superiority for long. Not when Jehan was full of it himself.
"I told you to chill, and you should," said the stranger. "No one raises their voice at me, you hear? No one."
"Forgive him, boss," came a voice coming from the back of the auditorium. "He's meeting you for the first time and doesn't know what he's up against. So give him a break."
Another man, wearing dark clothes and also with a face mask, walked along the other aisle, from the left side of the auditorium. Jehan looked at him as he slowly approached their row.
"Maybe you're right," said the boss as he slowly turned to his compatriote. "But I've been so good to this idiot, that he doesn't know how to repay me with kindness. If I wanted he would be dead already."
"Hey, I'm not an idiot!" Jehan pointed out. He was starting to lose his nerve.
"Boss is right," came a female voice on stage. "This man needs to be taught a lesson. So why not do so?"
Everyone's attention in the auditorium turned to the stage and the sound of shoes tapping echoed around the whole auditorium. A young lady appeared in the spotlight, also dressed in black with a black tight fitting long sleeved shirt, tight fitting jeans and black high heeled ankle boots. She also had a face mask on and Jehan was drawn to her eyes in an instant. They were intriguing yet dangerous.
"Darling, please," said the man who had appeared moments before. "Just because the big man is angry, doesn't mean he could just kill this guy right here."
"I don't mind if he does," said the lady as she held the chair the teddy was sitting on, her other hand on her hip. "Besides, I don't like this guy at all. Maybe we should get rid of him and his men. That way we could keep the diamonds to ourselves."
Jehan wasn't going to back down without a fight. He turned to his men who were awestruck by the lady on stage. He snapped his fingers irritatingly at them and the men turned to their boss.
"What are you nincompoops, doing?" Jehan asked. "Point the gun at her."
His two men quickly obeyed. They drew out their guns from their belts and pointed them at the lady on stage. She was unmoved by the sight of guns. Jehan smiled at her bravery.
"What are you going to do now, uh, I never got your name?" Jehan asked in a mocking tone.
The stranger gave Jehan a dead look. "The name's Ricky," he said. "You think you can just go ahead and point a gun at my girl? Two, for that matter? Shoot her if you must, but just so you know, you won't see those diamonds again."
"You're bluffing," said Jehan. "I'm the one with the upper hand here. So there is nothing you can do about it."
Ricky laughed, his man behind him also started to laugh and so did the lady on stage. Their laughs echoed around the auditorium.
"Fool," said Ricky as he turned towards the stage. "The chair on which the teddy bear is sitting on is on a trap door. Shoot her and the teddy bear goes down and before you could even think of getting on stage, you and your men would already be dead."
Jehan's mocking grin on his face disappeared. He turned towards the stage and from where he stood, he could see the lining of the trap door the chair and the lady were standing on.
He went back to looking at Ricky before him and he felt he had just met his maker.
"My men are everywhere, Jehan," said Ricky. "There is no chance of you getting out of here alive."
If Jehan had the nerve to clap for his opponent, he would. This guy had him well played.
Jehan gestured with his hand towards his men to lower their weapons. They did as he ordered and put their guns away. The lady on stage playfully tilted her head to the side.
"Well, that was easy," said the lady mockingly.
"All this would have been much easier if you just did as the boss said in the first place," said the man at the other end of the aisle.
Jehan looked at him with an awful look on his face. Ricky tapped Jehan on the shoulder to gain his attention.
"Are you still up for it?" he asked.
"Up for what?" Jehan asked with an eyebrow raised.
"Joining me. Are you still up for it?"
"I'm not changing my mind."
Jehan turned around and started to walk away from Ricky. When he reached the aisle where his men stood waiting for him, he soon turned towards the stage where the lady stood close to the teddy bear.
"I'm going up to get the teddy bear, you keep a close eye," said Jehan.
The two guards nodded and Jehan started his way towards the stage. As soon as he passed around the orchestra pit and was ready to go up on stage, one of his guards, called out behind him.
"Wait, Monsieur!"
"What now!" Jehan turned around and realised why his guard had called out to him.
Ricky and his compatriote had disappeared. The seats were empty and there was no one on the other end of the aisle. Where had they gone? What was going on?
"Where are they?" Jehan asked. "I told you to keep an eye out."
"Ummmm, Monsieur," the other guard went on to point at the stage.
Jehan rolled his eyes and when he turned on stage, there was white vapor everywhere. It was dry ice. Where did it come from all of the sudden?
There was dry ice everywhere that it was hard to see anything on stage. Jehan then realised he had to get the teddy bear and he quickly went on stage. The vapor was too thick, almost like fog and it was hard to see through it but he walked through it nonetheless.
When he saw the sight of the chair, he made a quick approach and when he got to it, there was no teddy.
"You've got to be kidding me," said Jehan as he looked around the stage for the lady in black. There was no sight of anyone on stage.
"All of this is a trap!" Jehan called out to his guards. He heard running feet and knew they were approaching the stage. "They got the teddy bear."
Jehan looked around as his guards went up to him.
"Go back stage and check if there is anyone there. They couldn't have gone far."
The two guards went on back stage, one to the left, the other to the right. The dry ice had started to thin out. Jehan was frustrated. All this turned out to be nothing but a prank. Who were these people anyway? Were they who they said they are? There was only one to find out.
Jehan decided to follow one of his guards, heading to the right. He found himself down the hall heading to the dressing rooms. He found his guard with his gun drawn and opening every door down the hall. When Jehan reached him, he realised that all the rooms were empty.
Just when the guard was about to open one of the doors, Jehan held up a hand to stop him from doing so. The guard obeyed and Jehan silently took a step closer as he approached the door. He stood there for a second and drew his ear closer trying to listen through it. He heard movement.
Bingo.
Jehan quickly held the door knob and opened the door. Just as he stepped in the room, there was a scream, and standing in the middle of the dressing room, was Zoey and Christine.
"Zoey?" Jehan looked shocked.
"Uh, hi," said Zoey, as she gave him a little wave.
"You did this?" Jehan and his guard slowly approached the two. Zoey and Christine slowly backed away, getting closer to the mirror.
"No," said Zoey as she shook her head.
"So, you had the teddy bear all along and tried to trick me?" Jehan asked as he took a few steps closer. He looked very angry.
"Jehan, it's not what you think. I didn't have the actual teddy when it got switched."
"Well, it's looks like you did and you're trying to trick me. Where is the teddy, Zoey?"
"I don't have it."
"Don't lie to me!" Jehan was on the edge of losing his temper. "Where is it?"
"She doesn't have it," said Christine.
"I didn't ask for you to talk," said Jehan as he turned to Christine.
"She's right, I don't have the teddy," said Zoey. "I never did."
"Then why are you here then if not to trick me?"
Zoey gulped. "I...I...I don't have your teddy, Jehan. You have to believe me."
"I would believe her if I were you, Monsieur," said the guard, his gun pointing at Zoey.
"What are you talking about? She is definitely the one with the teddy bear and she is going to give it to me."
"Are you sure? The woman who had the teddy bear on stage had black clothes on. Zoey isn't wearing black at all."
Jehan went on to looking at Zoey and realised that his guard was right. Zoey wore a white long sleeved shirt, white jeans and white flat boots. Even Christine wore all white.
Jehan was confused as he scratched his head and was wondering what to do next. If Zoey didn't have the teddy, then who did? And what was Zoey even doing here in the first place? And with her friend?
"What are you doing here anyway?" Jehan asked as he turned to Zoey.
"Why do I have to answer to you?" Zoey asked folding her arms. "As far as I'm concerned, you and I aren't working together anymore."
"Zoey," Christine tried to warn her as she nudged Zoey's shoulder.
"What? I'm telling the truth," said Zoey. "I don't have to answer to this guy anymore."
"It's strange that you are here when the people who happen to have the teddy bear are here too," said Jehan. He raised an eyebrow as he came closer. "I know you're up to something, Zoey. You're trying to set me up, aren't you?"
Zoey took a step towards Jehan with her hands on her hips. "What if I am?" Zoey asked.
"That means you know what's going on for you to talk like that. Where is the lady with the teddy?"
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"You know what I'm talking about. You're working with these people and you know where the teddy is. Now you're going to answer me right now or your friend gets it."
Jehan's guard then turned his gun at Christine. Christine looked stunned.
"What the..! Stop pointing that thing at me," said Christine.
"Tell me, Zoey," said Jehan. "Where is the lady with my diamonds?"
Zoey gave him a smile. "I don't have to answer to you, Jehan. All that isn't necessary."
"Don't joke around with me, Zoey. I've had enough! Where is she?"
"Someone looking for me?" came the lady's voice at the door.
Before Jehan could turn around to face her, Jehan's body guard had heavily dropped to the floor in an instant. And in a quick flash, something hard hit Jehan on the forehead and he fell to the floor holding his head. Everything around him started spinning.
"Come on, guys let's go," said Sam, holding a baseball bat.
"Well, it's about time you did that," said Zoey. "I was scared to my pants."
"I should be the scared one," said Christine. "That guy had a gun and was about to shoot me!"
"Less talking more running," said Sam. "Let's go!"
Zoey and Christine walked over the unconscious bodyguard and Jehan who was slightly moving on the floor holding his head and groaning in pain.
Before Zoey could fully get out of the room, she went back in and kicked Jehan so hard in the gut. Jehan held his lower part and howled in pain. Christine and Sam came back to the door.
"Zoey, are you nuts!" Christine asked. "Let's go!"
Zoey kicked him again, this time a little harder. "That's for being such a jerk!" Zoey called out to Jehan and she quickly went out of the room, closing the door behind her.
"Was that really necessary?" Sam asked.
"You get to hit him and I can't?" Zoey asked.
"Never mind, let's go find the others."
Jehan's other bodyguard who had taken the other side of the back stage was looking around in the props area filled with so many props that are used on stage. The place was partially dark and it was hard to look around.
As the guard moved around the place, being careful not to try and hit any of the objects around him, he heard a slight noise up ahead. He slowly moved forward, walking as quietly as a mouse to avoid making a sound. He could tell there were still people in here. Yet he himself had no clue that he was being watched.
He soon found himself in the centre of the room, with high metal shelves on either sides of the wall full of boxes of props and stage equipment. Close to one of the shelves on the right was what looked like a statue of an elegant woman made of white marble. It probably wasn't a real statue, just a stage prop.
The guard looked at the statue and slowly started to make his way towards it. He had his gun drawn up and he could tell there was someone behind the statue. He could still hear something or someone slightly moving in the dark.
"If you know what's good for you, come out in the open with your hands up," said the guard. "I don't want any bloodshed."
A sigh came from the statue and a shadow soon appeared around it. Coming out in the open was Daniel all dressed in white with his hands up.
"You got me," said Daniel. "I've never been good at playing hide and seek anyway."
"Where are they?" the guard asked.
"Who?" Daniel asked with a questioning look on his face.
"You know who I'm talking about. The people with the teddy bear. You're working for them, aren't you?"
"Why should I be working with people who have your teddy bear? Is this some kind of a joke?" Daniel found it funny and started to laugh.
"It's not funny!" the guard warned him.
"Sorry, dude, it's just that you're talking about this teddy like a kid who just lost it and wants it back. Why do you even want a teddy bear anyway? Aren't you too old for that?"
"Shut up! Where are they?"
"Who? The kids who stole your teddy? Or are they grownups like you?" Daniel grinned.
"Enough! This isn't a joking matter. You don't know what you're asking for, boy."
"Well, I hope it's not that serious. Because you will be asking for something in return."
"What do you mean?"
Before the guard realised it, a metal trolley loaded with heavy props came out of no where and hit the man from the left, pushing him to the side and he slid to the floor.
"Are you okay?" came Taeyang appearing from where the trolley had come from, dressed in black.
"Ya, I'm fine, thanks," said Mike.
The man on the ground was slowly standing up and he realised he no longer had the gun in his hand. He looked around and found it. Just as he was about to get it, someone appeared from out of the shadows, dressed in black and kicked the gun away. The gun disappeared in the dark and the guard on the floor cursed.
"You won't be needing that," said Daesung, standing over the man and looking down at him.
The guard slowly stood up from the ground and he tried to run over Daesung who quickly and swiftly stood aside and the man had crushed into one of the shelves, hitting his shoulder and his head in the process.
"Whoa, Daesung! Did you just swing that guy to the shelf?" Daniel asked, looking at Daesung.
"No, I didn't," Daesung replied. "He wanted to run me over and ended up bashing into the shelf instead."
The man groaned in pain as he sat on the floor holding his shoulder and his head hurt like hell. When he tried to stand up, he felt a little light headed as he felt the world around him spin.
All of the sudden, the exit doors at the end of the room opened and TOP, Seungri and Mike hurriedly came in.
"Where are the girls?" Seungri asked.
"I don't know, they should be here by now," said Taeyang.
"We should deal with this guy first," said Daniel, nudging his head at the guard.
When everyone turned to where the guard had been laying on the floor, they grew horrified. He wasn't there.
"Where is he?" TOP asked.
"That's not good," said Daesung.
They started to look around in the semi-darkness, slowly walking around.
"You guys should have kept an eye on him," said Mike.
"Can you try and blame this on us later, that's if we get out of this alive?" Daniel asked.
Out of the blue, coming from the other side of the door came Sam's voice calling out.
"Daniel, Tae!"
Sam, Zoey and Christine soon came running in the room. The others turned to their direction.
"Stop right where you are!" TOP called out to them.
Sam stopped. Christine and Zoey bumped into her back almost running her over but she managed to stand her ground.
"Oh! Be careful," said Sam. She turned to others at the other end of the room. "What's going on?"
"Jehan's guard is around here somewhere and we don't know where he is," Daniel answered.
"How could that happen?" Zoey asked. "You guys are men for goodness sake!"
"When you call some of us boys," said Mike.
"Ssh!" Sam warned loudly and everyone fell silent. "Let's just get out of here quick before Jehan and his other guard get here."
Then all of the sudden, two of the high metal shelves in the room were suddenly toppling over. Sam, Christine and Zoey tried running to the other side, but they were already too late. All the items and objects on the shelves piled up creating a heap together with the shelves separating the girls from the guys.
"Damn it!" Christine looked over the pile of props in front of her.
"Are you girls okay?" Seungri called out to them from the other side.
"We are, don't worry!" Sam called back in response.
"This is just great," said Zoey. "How are we going to get to the other side?"
"We will climb over the heap," said Sam. "That's what we are going to do."
"Are you crazy! I'm not climbing that. I'm wearing all white."
"We don't have a choice, Zoey. Jehan isn't unconscious and we don't have time."
"I'm climbing," said Christine as she went up to the heap and started to climb.
"Halt! No one is going anywhere," came a voice behind them.
Sam, Zoey and Christine all turned to look behind them and Jehan's body guard stepped out of the shadows. The three girls slowly backed away from him. Sam still had the baseball bat and tighted her grip on the handle.
"No one is going anyway until you give me the teddy with the diamonds," said the man.
"What are you going to do about it?" Sam asked. "As far as I can see, you don't have a gun."
"Don't mock me." The guard clenched his teeth as he slowly approached them.
"Girls, go!" said Sam.
"You don't have to tell me twice," said Zoey as she and Christine quickly started to climb up the heap.
The guard came charging at Sam and Sam quickly swung the bat at him, hitting him in the lower abdomen. The guard bent over and just as Sam was about to hit him again over the back, the guard held the bat so that it wouldn't hit him again.
He quickly pushed the bat away, drawing Sam back with so much force. Just as she backed away, the guard came up to her all of the sudden trying to get the bat away from her. Sam also tried to keep the bat and in the process she was backed against the wall struggling with the guard.
"Sam!" Zoey called out to her as she was now at the top of the pile with Christine. "We have to help her!"
The others from the other side of the heap had also come to the top and also saw Sam struggling with the guard.
"Sam, we are coming!" Mike said as he started to come down the heap with the others.
Christine who also stood at the top suddenly got a small round object as hard as a rock and with all that she had, she threw the rock at the guard which hit him in the head.
The guard howled in pain and Sam took the opportunity and pushed him back with her high heeled shoe on his stomach with all her might. The guard let go of the bat and fell backwards.
"Run, Sam!" Taeyang called out to her as he and Daesung reached the bottom of the pile.
Sam was just about to reach over to the pile when she felt something grab her foot and she fell face first to the floor in an instant, dropping the bat as well. She looked around and saw that the guard had grabbed her ankle.
"Let go of me, you freak!" Sam tried to hit his hand with her other foot as she struggled to get away from his grip.
"You aren't going anyway without giving me that teddy bear," said the guard.
Then all of the sudden, Taeyang came up, got the bat from the floor and hit the guard on his outstretched arm. The guard howled in pain and let go of Sam's ankle.
Mike and Daesung quickly came over and helped Sam get up from the floor. As for Taeyang, he quickly hit the guard over the head and he fell unconscious.
"Sam, are you okay?" Daesung asked as he held Sam's shoulders so that she could look at him.
"I'm fine," said Sam, giving Daesung a smile.
"Whoa!" came Zoey cheerfully at the top of the heap. "Great swing, Taeyang. You really hit that guy hard!"
"We better get going," said Seungri. "Who knows what might happen next."
As soon as he said that, there came Jehan's voice:
"Zoey! Zoey! Where are you!"
"This guy isn't going to quit," said Daniel.
"Dang it! I knew I should have hit him harder," said Zoey. "And on the head too."
Sam reached into the pocket of her jeans where she had kept the teddy and looked up above the pile.
"Zoey, catch!" Sam called out to Zoey and threw the small teddy at her. Zoey caught it.
"What are you doing, Sam?" Zoey asked.
"Run off with the teddy," said Sam. "You and Christine can get to the fountain before we do. We will try to hold back Jehan for a while."
"Sam's right," said Seungri. "Go, we'll find you."
Zoey and Christine soon started to descend on the other side of the heap. And as soon as they did, Jehan and his guard had suddenly appeared from the other side.
As soon as Jehan and his guard appeared from view, the two stopped short when they saw what was in front of them.
"BigBang and The Toxins?" Jehan had a surprised look on his face. "What are you all doing here?"
"Trying to stop you from getting that teddy," Sam answered.
Jehan couldn't believe what he was hearing as he started to put everything together.
"So you were the lady on stage, then?" Jehan asked as he looked at Sam.
"That was me, yes," said Sam.
"Then, who's Ricky?"
"That would be me," said TOP, with a devious smile on his face.
"And the other guy?"
"That was me," said Seungri.
Jehan shook his head, still not believing all of this. He held his head and shook it.
"So, you did all this for what? To help Zoey? If it is, I've to say, that's one hell of a mistake."
"If we helped out it's because we care about Zoey, and you're going down one way or another," said Daniel.
"How sweet," said Jehan as he smiled. "You're all trying to act like heros. But I'm afraid that's not going to happen."
"If you think of getting your diamonds back, you're wrong," said Daesung.
"I'll get them back one way or another," said Jehan as he looked at each of the BigBang and Toxins members before him. "Zoey and Christine aren't here. So they must have the diamonds."
"You won't be able to get to them that easily," said Sam.
"I'll find them, no doubt about it, dear. But first, I'll have to get rid of all of you. Starting with you, Sam."
Jehan's guard soon raised his gun and pointed it at Sam. Sam still remained unmoved just like she had before on stage. Daesung who stood right beside her pushed her behind him.
"I've to say, I admire your bravery, Sam," said Jehan. "I now see the difference between you and Zoey. You're a whole lot braver than she is."
"You're so darn wrong, you annoying prick!" came Zoey's voice which echoed around the room.
The next thing Jehan knew as he turned around, he received a heavy knock on the face dropping him to the floor. Zoey had come from behind and punched him hard in the face.
As for Jehan's guard, Christine also came from behind and held his hand holding the gun and trying to point the gun somewhere else. They struggled with each other, the guard's arm swinging back and forth.
"Christine, be careful!" Taeyang called out to her as she continued to fight for the gun. "You'll end up shooting someone."
Christine kept on fighting with the guard and this time the gun was pointed upwards. Taeyang, TOP and Daesung came over to help her. As for Zoey, she was now straddled over Jehan, who now had a bloody cut lip. She held his collar and shook him.
"You're going to pay, Jehan!" Zoey said as she shook him violently and ended up slapping him in the face. "No one points a gun at my friends! You hear me!"
"Zoey, stop it!" Sam came over to Zoey, with Mike and Daniel. They tried to get Zoey off of Jehan, but she wasn't letting go of him.
"I'm going to kill him, Sam! I swear I will!"
"Zoey, no!" Sam tried with all her might with her two brothers to pull her away from Jehan.
"Gosh, Zoey is so stubborn and really strong too," said Mike, also struggling to get Zoey off of Jehan.
As for Christine and the guard, Taeyang managed to get the gun away from them. Christine then took a step back to let the others take care of the guard. Kicking him and punching him till he fell to the ground.
When Christine turned around to Zoey and the others, she was surprised at what she saw.
"Zoey, let go of him!" said Daniel, still pulling Zoey away from Jehan.
"He thinks I'm not strong enough, I'll beat him to a pulp!" said Zoey, still grabbing Jehan by the collar and screaming in his face.
"Zoey's gone nuts," said Christine, scratching her head with a look of wonder on her face.
"Enough, Zoey!" Sam called out to her and this time, they finally managed to get Zoey away from Jehan. "You don't want to be all bloodied up, you know?"
"Wow," said Daesung as he came over to see Jehan on the floor with a bloodied lip and was slightly unconscious. "I never knew Zoey could go savage like that."
"I should scratch his eyes out," said Zoey, with Sam and Mike holding her on either side.
"Let's go," said TOP. "I don't think they are going to stay down for long."
"You're right," said Seungri. "We told you two to leave. What happened?" He looked at both Christine and Zoey.
"I couldn't leave you guys alone with this jerk," said Zoey as she tried to kick Jehan but Sam and Mike pulled her back.
"Let's go," said Sam. "And I'm not letting you out of my sight, Zoey."
They all ran out of the room, leaving Jehan and his two guards on the floor. Jehan quickly sat up and touched his bleeding lip. He looked down at his hand and saw the blood. Despite being dazed from the punch Zoey gave him, he was furious.
He looked around and saw his men still on the floor. The other he had come with was moving and trying to stand up. Jehan got up from the floor and looked around until he found the gun Taeyang had thrown away lying close to the heap of props.
He quickly went to get it and just as he had turned around, his guard was finally up. The other who has been hit on the head, still lay unconscious.
"Come on, let's go," said Jehan to his guard. "And this time, I'll be the one doing the shooting. You're just useless that you couldn't shoot anyone of those idiots. Especially Zoey."
The two soon ran out of the room and were heading back on to the stage. The time they got there, they found the stage filled with dry ice again. Jehan had enough and as soon as he stood at the centre of stage, he could see BigBang and The Toxins through the vapour running down the aisle and heading towards the door of the auditorium.
Jehan raised the gun in the air and pulled the trigger before they could get out through the doors, giving out a warning shot. The loud sound of the gunshot made the others stop on their tracks and cover their ears.
"No one is going anywhere!" said Jehan as loud as he could on stage.
"Keep dreaming, Jehan!" Zoey shouted back and she quickly opened the door. Zoey tripped and all the BigBang and Toxins spilled out of the room falling over each other by accident.
"Damn it!" Jehan muttered to himself as he saw the mayhem at the door through the dry ice. He couldn't shoot at anyone because he couldn't see and he started to head down the stage with his guard behind him.
"Oh my gosh, guys, get off me!" said Zoey who was lying on the floor with Sam and the others lying on top of them.
They all quickly got up from the floor and they all ran for their lives down the wide open hall.
As they ran down the hall heading for the doors, they were soon recognised by the people around as they had bumped into some as they ran. They soon ran out through the open wide doors.
"Oh my gosh, is that BigBang and The Toxins?"
"Aigoo! It's them!"
"Ah! That's B.K and Zoey!"
"What are they doing here?"
There was an exciting confusion in the hall. Jehan and his guard soon found themselves out of the auditorium and they saw the people they were running after, go out through the doors. They also ran down the hall, bumping into individuals whose attention and been drawn to the superstars who had just run past them.
When they got outside the building, they saw them running off towards the Music Hall building. It was starting to get dark outside since the sun had started to set. Jehan and his guard continued with the chase.
BigBang and The Toxins soon found themselves in an open wide public area called the Music Square between the Music Hall building and the Seoul Calligraphy Art Museum. There were still locals and tourists all over the place, some taking pictures and others were going in and out of the Café Mozart.
Jehan and his guard were right behind them as they were approaching the café. Sam managed to look behind her as she ran, and found the two men gaining on them.
"Holy cow," Sam muttered to herself as she looked forward.
Jehan quickly tried to point his gun upwards to release another warning shot, but he realised that there were too many people around and the guards would soon surround the place by the sound of the gunshot.
"Zoey! Zoey! Stop!" Jehan called out to her.
Jehan shouting at the top of his voice captured a lot of attention around the Music Square. And due to that, a few people recognised BigBang and The Toxins heading towards the open outdoor café.
"Oh, no, I'm not stopping this time," said Zoey as she continued running with Sam beside her.
"Zoey! Stop now or I'll shoot!"
When the two groups reached the café, they caused so much mayhem, bumping into waiters and tables and spilling over coffee and food all over the place. They all apologised as they ran bumping into people and breaking things. Zoey even had the nerve of climbing over a table and started jumping from one table to the next.
"Sorry, sorry, pardon me," said Zoey, jumping over the tables.
"What the...." Taeyang was a little surprised to see Zoey jumping from table to table that he accidentally bumped into a waiter, dropping all the contents the waiter was holding to the floor.
Jehan and his guard soon reached the café area. The guard went on ahead to catch up and Jehan stood there, and saw Zoey jumping on tables.
"Zoey! Stop!" Jehan said as he raised at the gun and pointed it at her.
Zoey turned around and paused when she saw the gun. All the customers who were there in the café screamed and panicked at the sight of it. Many of them were lucky enough to get out of the café and run off, except from BigBang and The Toxins, of course.
"Whoa! Jehan, what are you doing?" Zoey asked as she slowly raised her hands in the air, still standing on the table.
"What do you think am doing?" Jehan asked as he slowly walked into the café. "I want my diamonds back."
"If it's the diamonds you want, all you had to do was ask."
"Stop joking around, Zoey. You have done enough. Give the diamonds to me or your life ends here."
"Okay, I'll give it to you."
"Zoey! No! Don't give it to him," said Seungri who stood a few tables away from Zoey.
"I don't want to die," said Zoey as she looked at Seungri through the corner of her eye. "What choice do I have?"
"For once in your life, you're finally thinking straight," said Jehan with a smile.
"Okay, are you really saying that for real?" Zoey asked, looking upset as she dropped her hands and stood straight.
"Saying what?" Jehan shrugged his shoulders.
"You know what, you're always making fun of me and calling me dumb. It's not fair."
"Oh, no," Sam and Daniel muttered at the same time. They stood opposite from where Zoey was. And one thing they knew about her was that she never liked it when someone called her dumb.
"But isn't that what you're?" Jehan asked.
"No, I'm not. You see, that's why I hit you so hard back there. I should have knocked you out instead, you devil!"
"Please, Zoey, stop talking!" Taeyang warned her.
"No, I won't stop, talking. I'm really upset. Do you know what, I'm not going to give him the teddy."
"Yes, thank you," said Daesung.
"Zoey, give it now!" Jehan called to her.
"No," said Zoey as she folded her arms. "You can shoot me if you want. I don't care."
"No wonder you're so dumb." Jehan gave Zoey a look of disgust.
"Well, dumb people don't put their lives on the line now, do they?" Zoey gave Jehan a smirk.
Jehan huffed in frustration as he turned to his guard who had been standing a few feet in front of him waiting for instructions.
"Get her," said Jehan.
The guard quickly turned towards Zoey and charged at her. He was going to jump and push her over.
"Zoey, look out!" Daesung shouted.
Zoey was stuck on the table looking at the charging guard and before she could take a step back, a miracle happened.
As the guard came at Zoey, the table in front of him suddenly shot upwards that the surface hit him squarely in the face, breaking his nose in the process.
The guard took a few steps back holding his badly and bloody broken nose. He groaned in pain.
The person who had lifted the table so as to block the guard was Christine who had been hiding under the table the whole time. Zoey had seen her there and that's why she just stood still on the table, waiting for Christine to make her move.
Then everything happened so fast. Jehan was so angry at what was happening in front of him that he lost it and almost pulled the trigger, the gun still pointing at Zoey. But he didn't because Zoey was now falling back from the table. TOP had quickly read the danger and carried Zoey off the table. The two accidentally fell back on the floor together, Zoey landing on top of TOP.
TOP howled in pain as Zoey asked, "are you okay?"
"I'm fine," said TOP, as Zoey got off of him. "Don't you ever go jumping on tables again."
"Sorry."
Jehan was fuming as he took a few steps towards the others, pushing his guard aside who was still complaining over his broken nose. As he approached the overturned table that had hit his guard, Christine came up from behind it and when she turned around, she saw Jehan. When she tried to make a run for it, Jehan had caught her by the hair and dragged her back.
"Ah! Let go of me!" Christine exclaimed as Jehan dragged her back and she hit the table behind her.
Daesung came with a tray in his hand and tried to hit Jehan in the face with it. Jehan drew his face back and just as he was drawing Christine further back, Daesung took hold of Jehan's jacket, drawing him close and finally hitting Jehan's face with the tray.
Jehan finally let go of Christine, holding his face. Daesung took hold of Christine's hand and they ran off, heading out of the café area and everyone else followed suit.
Just as Sam also ran out of the café, she accidentally tripped over and fell onto the pavement. Before she could pick herself up, she heard footsteps and Jehan's voice behind her.
"Don't move, Sam," said Jehan. "Now slowly do as I say. Stand up."
Sam slowly stood up from the ground. Jehan told her to turn around with her hands up and she did so.
"You know, I don't want to do this," said Jehan still pointing the gun at her. "But you leave me no choice."
"And what are you going to gain from shooting me?" Sam asked. "You know if you do so, that's only going to make Zoey even more upset and she won't give you back your diamonds."
"I know she won't give me the diamonds. So I would rather take someone she cares about the most in return. You."
Sam remained where she stood and when she looked around, she saw that there were a few people looking their way, wondering what was going on.
"You know when you shoot me, you won't get away with it, right?" Sam asked. "You'll be hunted down for the criminal that you are."
"I've always been a criminal, Sam," said Jehan with a smirk on his face. "For me, it's always been a fact."
"You're right on that one."
Jehan lifted the gun a little higher, aiming for her head. "This is it, I'm afraid. Maybe some day, I'll meet you on the other side, Sam."
"I just hope it isn't hell."
"No." Jehan was now ready to fire. "You're way too good for it."
Jehan fired the gun and Sam had her eyes closed as the world around her soon fell silent. For a moment, she thought her head had just exploded, but she didn't feel anything. Was she already dead and the damage the bullet did to her head had been completely fatal?
"Sam? Sam, open your eyes," came a voice in her ears.
Sam was confused when she felt a hand on her shoulder. All of her nerves started to work and the breath she had been holding in for so long had finally been let out. She opened her eyes and she realised that she had still been standing on the same spot she had been on when she faced Jehan. And the person who stood in front of her gave her a heart attack.
"Ji Yong, what are you.....?"
G-Dragon placed his finger on her lips to stop her from talking.
"Do you really think I'll let you face this creep on your own?" G-Dragon asked. "Not when I'm around."
Sam looked beyond G-Dragon and she saw Jehan laying down on the pavement and holding the back of his head.
"How did you...?" Sam was a little surprised. "I thought I was dead."
"I arrived just in time when he pulled the trigger and lifted his arm upwards so he could shoot up in the sky instead. Then I fought for the gun and threw it away."
"But how did you know we were going to be here?"
"Derrick and Lee told me what was going on and I decided to come here on my mine own to help out. But I never knew I was going to end up saving you."
Sam smiled in relief and she quickly wrapped her arms around him, into a hug. G-Dragon smiled and hugged her back.
"I knew you were going to come around sooner or later," said Sam. "My guardian angel."
G-Dragon gave a heartfelt laugh. "Well, I am all dressed in white, so, I am your guardian angel."
"I'm so going get you two for this," said Jehan, as he was still on the ground holding his head. "I promise you."
"Come on," said G-Dragon as he took Sam's hand. "I know you've been waiting for this last part."
"Well, I'm just glad you're here," said Sam. "It was definitely not going to be the same without you."
The two soon ran hand in hand away from Jehan, through the small crowd that had gathered around, towards the World Music Fountain.
"Monsieur, monsieur," Jehan's guard with a bloody broken nose came over to Jehan. "Are you okay?"
"Of course I'm not okay," said Jehan in frustration. "I keep on getting hit in the face and at the back of my head. How do you expect me to be okay?"
"Sorry, Monsieur."
"You better be. Oh, look who had just missed the party," said Jehan as he saw his other guard approaching them.
"What happened? Did we get the diamonds back?" the guard asked as he closed in on them.
"No, we wouldn't look like we have badly been beaten up by a bunch of superstars now, will we? Help me up!"
The two guards helped Jehan to his feet. After shaking off the dirt from his suit, he looked on ahead in the direction in which Sam and G-Dragon had taken towards the fountain.
"They are heading towards the fountain," said Jehan. "We can quickly get to them."
The three made their way towards the fountain. And they noticed that there was a huge crowd of people around the place, making it difficult to move around.
It looked like an event was going on due to the excited atmosphere in the crowd. People had their focus on the music fountain.
Jehan and his guards made their way through the thick crowd. They noticed bright lights coming from the fountain and when Jehan finally got out of the crowd, he was greeted with a surprise.
In front of him, arranged in a square formation stood a group of people. Some were dressed in all white and others all in black. They arranged themselves in sequence to their colour of clothing. Black and then white and then following the sequence all over again. They also wore face masks and they were staring down at the ground.
Beautiful spotlights lit up the pavement close to the fountain and on the spot the people stood on. It looked like they were on a colourful disco floor.
"What's happening here?" Jehan asked as he looked on ahead.
The sound of music burst out of nowhere and the fountain behind the dancers sprouted water up in the air in a fashionable way. As the music continued to play, the dancers started to dance following the beat of the music. Their dance moves were so well synchronised into one and it seemed to cheer the crowd on since the dancers were dancing to a popular k-pop song.
Jehan looked at what was going on in front of him and he realised that Zoey and the others must be in this group of dancers. But he couldn't tell who was who, because all of the dancers in front of him wore masks and most of them had hoodies on so it was hard to see who was who.
Another song played and this time, other group of dancers came up on the dance area coming from both sides. And just like the others, some were in white and others in black. They were all running around changing formation but still in line and in tune with the song.
When they changed formation and dancing to the song, the whole place looked liked a black and white checker board. And the display of the fountain which sprouted water according to the tune of the music made everything so wonderful.
Jehan turned to his guards who were watching the performance and were intrigued by what was going on. One of his guards had even started to nod his head to the sound of the music. Jehan irritatingly hit the guard at the back of the head.
"What are you doing? You're supposed to be looking out for Zoey. Fool."
"But how are we going to do that?" the guard asked. "I mean, Zoey is wearing white and there many wearing the same colour."
"I don't care just find her and the diamonds."
Jehan went on to looking at the dancers in front of him, and he had to admit, finding Zoey was going to be difficult, even worse, trying to find anyone of her friends.
While the crowd was cheering and also dancing to the beat of the music, Jehan decided to go in the group of dancers and look for Zoey himself. If he could get close, he might be able to identify her.
He went into the crowd of dancers, dancing all around him and he bumped into them as they kept on shoving him from side to side. His guards also went around the other side, but so far they weren't able to recognise Zoey.
Just as the song finished, the stage spotlights and the lights went off, making the area around the fountain really dark. For a moment, Jehan was confused as he looked around. The dancers were quick in changing formation again and he was being bumped in to here and there.
All of the sudden, the lights went on and the lights were now focused at the middle of the dance floor, focused on a small group of dancers gathered in a circle of their own. The other dancers stood further apart from those in the center forming a bigger circle around them.
As another song started to play, Jehan noticed that one of the dancers who made up the circle in the middle, dropped the mask covering their face and brought a microphone to their lips. It was Zoey.
And the person who stood across from her around the circle was G-Dragon who also dropped his mask and brought the microphone and started to sing. Zoey followed suit and they sang together, as they broke from the circle. There was a loud cheer from the crowd.
Before Jehan could make a move and approach Zoey, the dancers around also started to dance as Sam and Taeyang sang their verse. This time, BigBang and The Toxins together made their formation and started to dance and sing to their song.
Jehan struggled trying to get to Zoey and the others with all the dancers squeezing in around him. Even his guards on the other side were facing the same difficulty.
Jehan wasn't going to give up easily though. He shoved some of the dancers out of his path. Just as he got to the center where Zoey was, she noticed him and took a few steps back towards the fountain while the others continued to perform for the crowd.
As she reached the stone edge of the fountain, she climbed up the edge. She knew she had nowhere to go. She looked at Jehan as he approached her.
"Well, you have really been a pain, Zoey," said Jehan as he talked loud above the music. "I've to give you a hand for that."
"You're not going to get away with it, Jehan," said Zoey. "You will be arrested and put in jail."
"As though that's going to be easy. You'll need a whole lot of evidence if you're to put me behind bars. Now give me the diamonds, Zoey."
Zoey looked behind her at the pool of water in the fountain. She turned to look at Jehan.
"You'll have to catch me first," said Zoey. "Because I'm not moving from here."
Jehan furrowed his eyebrows. He was so pissed with all that had been going on that he wanted to get over and done with.
He quickly ran towards, Zoey and just as he had his arm outstretched and ready to jump at Zoey so as to grab her, Zoey swiftly twirled to the side on the stone edge, careful enough not to trip over. Jehan tripped over the edge and he couldn't stop himself from falling as he took a dive into the fountain.
"Whoa!" Zoey cheered as Jehan sat up in the fountain shaking off the water on his face.
His guards, who had seen what happened to Jehan, quickly came over to the edge of the fountain to try and help Jehan out.
Then Seungri and Mike came up from behind the two guards and pushed them into the fountain, joining Jehan.
"Oh my goodness, you're such fools!" Jehan said angrily as he splashed water at his guards. It could clearly show on his face that he was upset.
The others soon came by the fountain and were amazed at what they were seeing.
"How are you enjoying yourself, Jehan?" Zoey asked with so much jeer in her voice. "Now you see how it feels to be kicked around and dragged down in the dirt."
"Well, this was fun," said Daniel.
"Especially that we had to perform and drop Jehan in the fountain, it was," said Christine.
"It wasn't just fun, it was dangerous too," said Taeyang.
"And Sam was pretty lucky that I came around to save her," said G-Dragon, as he made an eye at Sam.
"All of you have a lot of explaining to do."
The two groups winced at the sound of that voice behind them and when they turned around, there stood Collins and Yang Hyun-suk alongside Lee and Derrick. The two managers looked pretty upset.
The superstars didn't say a word as they looked at their managers.
"So, isn't anyone going to tell us anything?" Collins asked.
"I thought Lee and Derrick already told you," said Sam.
"We just want to hear it from you," said Yang Hyun-suk. "Because we took a look at our phones and we see you guys trending all over social media."
A group of police men soon came into view before anyone could say anything else. A police detective walked up to the two managers as the police took Jehan and his two guards out of the fountain.
"Detective Son," said the detective as he shook hands with both of the managers. "If you ask me, I wouldn't be so mad at them with what they have done today."
"Yes! Please preach, detective," said Zoey. Seungri who stood beside her nudged her on the shoulder telling her to keep quiet.
Collins made an eye at Zoey before he asked the detective what he meant.
"WelI, the person you see being arrested right in front of you, is a diamond smuggler."
"You don't have any proof of that," said Jehan looking completely wet as two police officers stood at either of him with his hands cuffed behind him.
"We definitely have enough evidence against you," said the detective as he looked at Jehan. "You see, while you were in the auditorium with TOP, he had a microphone on him. That way, you ended up confessing about your crimes."
"Ya, true," said TOP, with a smirk on his face.
"I still don't get one thing, though," said Jehan. "How come you were able to know what was going on in my business? Especially with my clients?"
"That's how I come in, little brother," said Derrick as he approached his brother. Jehan grew completely horrified at the sight of him. "After I knew that you were dealing in diamonds, I searched a little deeper and found out about your little gang. It's easy to find out what you need to know when you've contacts."
"I never knew you would betray me like this." Jehan frowned.
"You and I are completely different, Jehan. You'll have to answer to the law now. And mother too."
Despite looking so drenched, Jehan looked as red as a ripe tomato. He looked like he was ready to tear his brother into bits and pieces.
"I'm so going to get you for this, Derrick," threatened Jehan. "And all of you!" He turned to BigBang and The Toxins. "Especially you, Zoey!"
"Yadda, yadda, yadda," said Zoey as she now had the little teddy in her hand, so that Jehan could see it. "Don't you have the right to remain silent? Remember, whatever you say or do will be used against you in the court of law."
Sam, Christine, Daniel, TOP and Seungri burst out laughing. Yang Hyun-suk and the detective smiled. The others wanted to laugh, but held it in instead. Collins was the only one who didn't find it funny at all and shook his head.
"Thank you so much for reading his rights out for me, Zoey," said the detective.
"Anytime," said Zoey as she approached the detective and gave him the teddy with the diamonds.
"We'll be going now," said the detective. "You all have a good night. Or, and Zoey, we might take a statement from you tomorrow, if that's okay."
"Sure."
The detective and the policemen soon took Jehan and his two guards away, leaving the two managers to deal with the BigBang and The Toxins.
"You know what, I don't really want to know how you all got involved with that criminal. But I know it has something to do with you, Zoey," said Collins.
"Hey! Does everything always have to be about me?" Zoey asked.
"Yes," said Collins. "You wouldn't be told to give a statement to the police if you hadn't done something."
"Really? Guys back me up here," said Zoey as she turned to her friends.
"Well, it's pretty much true," said Daesung.
"I agree," said Christine as she rubbed her neck.
"Yep," Mike and Taeyang said as the same time.
"On my part, you should have reported this earlier to the police and not have waited this long," said G-Dragon.
"Okay, okay," said Zoey. "Maybe part of it was my fault. Well, twenty percent of it. But the rest is all Jehan's."
"But why did you do all of this here at the arts center?" Yang Hyun-suk asked. "Do you know you guys did a lot of damage?"
"Bringing down Jehan here was not my plan," said Zoey quickly. "It was Sam's."
The two managers turned to look at Sam.
"Um, that's true," said Sam. "It was my idea to bring him down here. I know we caused a lot of chaos, but all this has already been accounted for."
"What do you mean?" Collins asked.
"Well, let me say, I asked for permission to be here and cause a bit of a mess, if not a big one," said Sam. "But with the help of Derrick of course, and the police."
"So, you're saying we won't have to pay for any damages?" Yang Hyun-suk asked.
"Nope."
"Thank goodness," said Collins. "But what about the performance? You organised it yourself?"
"That was our only way to make up for the damages. Besides, it was also the perfect way to trap Jehan. Lee was the one who made the whole setup. So the credit goes to her."
The two managers turned to Lee and Collins had a look of surprise on his face.
"I've to say, you set this up pretty well, Lee," said Collins.
"Thanks, but the credit also goes to Sam since she was the mastermind in all this," said Lee.
"And she saved my life," said Zoey as she came to hug Sam. "How can I ever repay you?"
"Well, you can start by not getting into trouble a lot," said Collins.
'True, Sam almost lost her life because of this," said Seungri.
"Sam, almost lost her what!" the two managers said at the same time looking surprised at what they were hearing.
"Nothing, nothing," said Zoey. "We will talk about this later. Can we perform one last time? Our fans out there look like they want more of us."
The two managers turned around to face the crowd who were cheering for their superstars to get back and perform.
"Do you guys really want to perform?" Collins asked.
"Well, ya," said Sam. "It's why we are here, isn't it?"
"Well, you also kind of ruined everything by releasing your song too early by performing it live," said Yang Hyun-suk.
"Oh, don't worry about a thing," said Lee. "The film director and their crew are already here shooting the video so some parts of the video clips will be added onto the music video before its release."
"Mmmm, not bad. Looks like you have it all worked out just fine."
"So does that mean we can perform one last time?" Daesung asked.
The two managers went on to look at each other, obviously thinking of what to say next. The superstars in front of them were nervous that they might say the obvious "no."
"If you guys weren't so lucky, I would have refused," said Collins, giving them a smile.
"Does that mean we can!" Daniel asked, looking excited like the rest.
"Yes," said Yang Hyun-suk.
"Yes!" they cheered and some high-fived each other.
"Have fun," said Collins. "And please don't try to make a mess."
"Don't worry, Collins," said Sam. "We'll be rocking it this time around. And hitting it loud and hard."
"Like a big bang?" Zoey asked.
"Ya."
The two managers shook their heads and smiled, leaving the scene. Just as Lee and Derrick were following behind them, Sam ran over to Derrick and stopped him.
"Derrick, wait," said Sam as she held his shoulder.
"What is it?" Derrick asked as he turned around to look at her.
"Thank you. To be honest, you really helped me out a lot."
Derrick gave her a smile. "There is no need to thank me. I'll do anything you ask me to."
Sam raised an eyebrow. "Even jump off a building?"
Derrick smiled even more. "Maybe."
"Well, thank you anyway," said Sam as she gave him a hug and Derrick hugged her back.
"Sam, come on, let's go!" called out Christine as she stood there waiting with G-Dragon and Zoey.
"You better go," said Derrick as they broke away from each other. "The world needs their black kitty."
Sam smiled and went to join the other three.
"Why did you even hug the guy?" G-Dragon asked.
"Is that a problem?" Sam asked.
"Don't mind him, he's just jealous," said Christine, rolling her eyes.
"No, I'm not," said G-Dragon.
"Yes, you're," said Zoey. "And by the way, thanks for coming around, GD. I really appreciate it."
"Don't mention it. I only did this for Sam."
"That was freaking obvious." Zoey playfully rolled her eyes and smiled.
"And for you too. We are friends, aren't we?"
Zoey gave him a genuine smile. "Yes, we are."
"Shall we go and perform? The fans are waiting," said Sam.
"You know what, Sam? I'm proud of you today," said Zoey.
"Why? Because she saved you from Jehan?" Christine asked.
"No, she managed to run and be in high heels for this long."
G-Dragon and Christine laughed. Sam only smiled and put an arm around Zoey's shoulder.
"What can I ever do without you, my dear Zoey?" Sam asked. "Come on, let's go."
The other three all smiled in agreement and joined the others at the middle of the dance floor with the others dancers surrouding them. The stage lights grew dim and the huge crowd loudly cheered them on.
