Through the busy streets of New Faith walks a hooded female. She is young, a teenager, almost eighteen years old but just falling short. She walks through the unfamiliar streets with her hands in her pockets. Most people won't notice her but she will notice them, her eyes watching everyone and everything. What is she looking for? The thing she hates the most. Criminals.
As if she was a magnet and crime a piece of metal she found criminals right in front of her. She hid among a scared crowd that had formed around the entrance of a bank. Everyone stared in fear at the three masked men who stood in front of the bank's shattered windows. They yelled and threatened as their partners did their work inside. The girl knew that none of these people would do anything, they wouldn't help, they wouldn't stop these men. Despite that fact she didn't dislike the scared citizens, how could she expect them to fight when they don't expect themselves too?
The girl could feel her rage building with every moment that passed. These thieves, these criminals, they were so proud of themselves, so egotistical, so pompous. The very sight of these men made her blood boil. Her internal timer was counting down the seconds until she would not be able to standby anymore. She watched and waited until that timer hit zero. The moment it did she took a single step forward before an unexpected surprise would the timer back up.
The moment her foot hit the ground a man was launched out of the bank like a missile. The man was another robber who landed at the feet of one of the men. The three robbers looked in shock at their companion before quickly turning their attention to the bank. They pointed their guns at the bank as they waited to see their enemy. They were just as silent as the crowd as they watched a teenage boy walk out of the bank, various pink designed shined brightly as they decorated his black clothes.
"It's Vansu!" a bystander shouted.
"The hero?" another said.
"It's a real hero!" a child shouted excitedly.
The hero named Vansu grinned at the attention he was receiving. He looked at the remaining robbers without fear and a smile on his face.
"Your friend was causing trouble in there," Vansu said to the robbers, "you should help him out."
"You better not try anything!" One of the robbers yelled, "You're outnumbered!"
"Is that so?" Vansu asked with a grin, "I better fix that."
The hero raised his fingers to his mouth and let out a loud, sharp whistle. The robbers watched terrified as a giant cat menacingly emerged from within the bank. It stood behind Vansu and growled angrily. Distracted by the feline's sudden arrival the robbers fail to notice the ice creeping up one of their legs. The robber looked down when he felt a deadly cold and began to panic.
"Guys! Someone help me!" He shouted fearfully.
Another robber attempted to run to his side but quickly fell to the ground with a thud. He looked to his ankles to see them wrapped together with a chain with a blade at its end. As his eyes followed the chain he saw it held in the hand of another hero. The hero had a sinister grin and fire in the shape of a ball floating above his palm. He wore a black jacket, blue jeans, and a dark red beanie. Following the trail of ice lead to a third hero, a girl who wore an outfit that resembled a dancer. Around her wrist rested two distinct pieces of pink fabric.
"How's that?" Vansu asked the last robber, "It looks like you are outnumbered now."
The robber looked around desperately for an escape only to find the smiles of the heroes around him. Seeing no chance of winning, the robber dropped his weapon and raised his hands in the air. The other robbers show no sign of disagreeing with his decision, they were all just as helpless.
Several minutes the police arrived and arrested the three men and their partners inside of the bank. No money was stolen and no lives were lost, the heroes had won in every sense of the word. The three heroes received cheers and admiration from the crowd but most importantly they received the interest of the watching girl. Once she saw an opening she made her way towards the hero others had called Vansu.
"Excuse me," the girl said politely.
Vansu turned to face her, he seemed surprised that someone walked up to greet him.
"Can I help you with something?" Vansu asked with a smile.
"No, thank you," the girl responded. "I saw what you did just then and I found it very impressive, I just wanted to say thank you on behalf of everyone you've helped today."
"Well I can't take all the credit," Vansu said as he scratched the back of his head.
"You better not," the chain wielding hero said as he walked to Vansu's side.
"Yeah," the female hero said jokingly as she joined them, "don't think that because we are new you get to make yourself look better."
"You all are right," the watchful female said as she bowed in respect, "thank you, all of you."
"How do you feel Sel?" Vansu asked the chain wielding hero, "you went from mugging to getting thanked in one day."
"Feels pretty awesome man," he responded.
"What did you just say?" the watchful female said suddenly, her tone shifting the mood instantly. "Mugging?" she hissed as she raised herself from her bow. Her face was twisted with disgust and hatred as she stared daggers through Sel. "You're a criminal," she spat, "you disgust me."
"What the hell did you just say?" Sel said angrily as he took a step forward. In an instant, Vansu was between the two of them with his arms out preventing the situation from escalating any further.
"Cool it Sel," he ordered.
Sel looked to him and for a moment looked as though he was going to argue but he complied and said nothing instead. Vansu turned his attention back to the watchful girl.
"I see you don't want us around," he said putting extra emphasis on us, "so we'll be leaving now."
"Yeah," the female hero agreed, "That's a good idea."
"No," the watchful female said coldly. "I never said I don't want you around." She turned her attention away from Sel and directly to Vansu. She stared directly into his eyes as she spoke her next line.
"In fact... I want to join you."
