Wang Jie easily discerned his heart and felt grateful that kind people still exist within this unforgiving world. He knew that the old man's action did not have the intention of gaining their favor but he was already making a good impression on Wang Jie.
"You don't have to, Elder Meng. We are already grateful that you all welcome us with open arms." Wang Jie said and Meng Hai shook his head.
"You are too modest, Young Man. Our village would love to have another reason to be in a festive mood." Meng Hai laughed.
"Wouldn't your food go to waste if you use them for strangers like us?" Wang Jie said.
"You are no longer a stranger but part of this village." Meng Hai said giving a toast to the young man as he stopped reasoning with him and accepted the offer.
"If you're going to marry, head to Spring Jade Temple where you'll meet the priest to give the blessing. It'll cost you some but compared to noble expenses then it's just a pocket change around 2 Silver Tian." Meng Hai said.
Tian. The currency used in the Tianlong Empire. It is separated from Bronze, Silver, and Gold Tian. If using the earth standard as currency then 1 Gold Tian excluding tax would equal 100 dollars.
100 Bronze is equal to 1 silver and 1 gold is 100 silver.
In addition, religion or any place of worship doesn't exist except showing reverence towards ancestors such as the founder of the Tianlong empire, Tianlong Shen who was the last known cultivator who was beyond the Tribulation realm.
The priest of a temple is simply a place where ritual is performed for the traditional. It was likely that the Spring Jade Temple served no god and only revered the founder of the Spring Jade City.
'I currently have 100,000 Bronze Tian, 15,000 Silver Tian, and 1,000 Gold Tian or 100,000 Dollars. Money isn't the issue here but I'll eventually run out if I'm not careful.'
Wang Jie had accumulated this wealth on his own and already lost a large sum in paying the royal family of Tianlong for the damages. Fortunately, he didn't live in self-indulgence and aims to use the money wisely.
He can expect to rely on this amount of money knowing the expenses and needs some work to be done. Wang Jie was also able to use the place to gather information from outside the town.
"From the looks of it, money isn't an issue." Meng Hai said, taking a sip of his drink and Wang Jie nodded.
"Alright, I'll check the place out."
The day continued with Wang Jie carefully watching Zhang Mei having some conversation with the women in the village, mostly older women and housewives.
"Wow, your hair looks amazing and your skin is smooth." One of the Housewives was unaware of the reason for it.
During Body Tempering, the person is gradually changing their body to allow it to absorb Essence and obtain their own Qi.
Once they reach Essence Awakening would transform and acquire a new body. They can finally have two paths to cultivate once they reach this realm.
Body and Essence. There are methods of Body Tempering with their own effects and the same goes for Essence.
"Hey, what's your relationship with that handsome young man?"
Zhang Mei looked graceful listening to their words and proudly smiled.
"Our soon to be honest husband. We want to have a simple wedding in Spring Jade City in a couple of days."
She happily answered and this caught everyone's attention and immediately suggested to help them and Zhang Mei was pleasantly surprised.
She tried to respectfully decline like Wang Jir but they were persistent and accepted it.
Liu Yung on the other hand was dancing and enjoying the festive night. She easily got along with everyone and it was amazing how the place didn't have any lecherous men like in the big city.
The community of the White Lotus Village was a lot better than the city. They were like a true family on how they treated each other.
'This place is great to start a family. My children wouldn't be burdened by the heavy responsibility of being a Chen.'
Being rich may sound amazing at first glance but there are also cons hidden beneath the surface.
Wang Jie enjoyed his life but it became annoying and felt out of place. He was like a bird in a cage, unable to fly across the heavens like he was intended to do. He was a puppet by his own family with only few who truly loved him.
He glanced at the brightly lit starlight sky illuminating the white Lotus village by the large moon contemplating what road lay ahead but did not overthink it and simply focused on what's in front of him.
Eventually, the warm welcome of the White Lotus Village had come to an end and Wang Jie spent the entire week carefully planning everything while adapting to their new environment.
The villagers were a great help to make them comfortable and gave genuine care to the ass kisser back at Chen City.
Wang Jie had been putting his time in formulating ideas that can be used and widespread where people would desire to gain. The lack of technology and knowledge in this world would love to obtain this.
They may not be able to improve their cultivation but would at least improve some of their lives. In addition, Wang Jie would drastically become even more wealthy while keeping his peaceful life if he played his cards right.
Wang Jie had some knowledge in farming and helped the villagers in this regard. The Crop Rotation wasn't even known and other tools for farming weren't invented yet.
'I feel like I've been reincarnated in western fantasy world rather than the cultivation world.'
Wang Jie thought to himself currently inside the Spring Jade City with his two soon to be wives.
The security of the city is done by the Blood Iron Pavilion, which is an essential Police force that keeps the citizens safe where each city has their own branch to oversee the city.
They are not under the Tianlong Empire, instead made by a fellow founder of the empire who was the right hand of Tianlong Shen, the ancestral founder of the empire.
He was known as the Blood Iron Emperor and was a powerful individual surpassing even the ancestral founder.
At that time, war and bloodshed was still out of control due to the battle against the demon race and the aftermath was still fresh.
The Blood Iron Emperor sought peace and justice resulting in the creation of the Blood Iron Pavilion stopping any threats that disrupt harmony.
They are all incorruptible and unbiased when it comes to keeping justice and peace due to their martial arts and how they recruit individuals. Their few in numbers compare to the imperial army yet their might cannot be underestimated.
Of course not everyone is in the spotlight with some behind the scenes. There are two divisions in Blood Iron Pavilion with their own ranks based on contribution and not strength.
These are the Guard and Investigator with the name already implies what they're jobs are. Their ranks are from Beginner, Advanced, Elite, Expert, Veteran, Commander General.
The strength of Guards vary but most Elite Rank Guards would have at least Early stage Earthly Essence Realm with combat prowess of a Late stage Earthly Essence realm.
Though, it is possible to receive a high rank if they contributed enough therefore it is possible for Peak Body Refinement to enter Elite Rank or even Expert Rank.
Their strongest who currently holds the Title of Blood Iron Emperor is Late Stage True Essence Realm. The Title can only be obtained through trial of defeating the previous owner in a fair and one on one duel.
It was worth noting that the Blood Iron Pavilion isn't the same as the Imperial army of the Tianlong Empire. They do not show any bias and most members are commoners who rose through the top.
Of course, many nobles and influential people tried to gain control over the Blood Iron Pavilion but failed and met with swift retaliation. This is the reason no one tries to go against them once faced with their judgment.
It's fortunate they keep their honor and do not abuse their authority and power unlike most noble families.
'The guards are likely Bone Refinement.'
Even without having cultivation, Wang Jie has an uncanny ability to use his intuition to discern things. The Spring Jade City is far from the capital and major cities that provide the best.
If it was a city from earth then it would be one of the best tourist spots due to how magical it appears, especially the Spring Jade spot.
The Bone Refinement even at the peak stage can easily fight against people with guns and kill wild animals with ease.
These individuals have a strict code of principle and honor that they abide and breaking it would strip them of everything.
Fortunately, most recruits are orphans who became loyal to the Blood Iron Pavilion following the teaching of their founder to keep peace and justice.
Wang Jie was certainly surprised at how similar yet different to what he expected in the cultivation world.
However, it was possible the reason for it was the tragedy of the Great Devastation Era that resulted in avoiding any more internal conflict as much as possible due to the impending threat of demon race attack once more.
They are not aiming to attack the demon race simply because the causality and resources would be so massive that recovery will be impossible and it is best for them to completely recover before doing anything drastic.
He glanced at Liu Ying and Zhang Mei who were mesmerized by the sight of the city with the bustling sound of people working and advertising their products to Iron Blood guards patrolling the city. There are also some Mercenary and Rogue Cultivators who came to visit.
These Mercenaries worked for the Gang Xu Brigade who would send out quests that can be taken by them with some rogue Cultivator would join in.
They either would act as escort for merchants or provide some pest control in hunting weak monsters that locals can't handle.
Wang Jie hadn't personally visited the Gang Xu brigade but can see it as an adventurer guild like most fantasy novels he read.
Meanwhile, these mercenary and rogue cultivators were smart enough to know that the two women with Wang Jie were beyond their capabilities and the reason why none had arrogantly approached them.
But the mortals were captivated by their flawless beauty with Zhang Mei alluring and mature demeanor to Liu Ying bright and warm demeanor.
Wang Jie was proud to have them and was a lot better than entitled and egoistic noble women who think they rule the world. They were kind and caring, keeping their roots at heart and never forgot where they came from.
Of course they weren't the only ones being sighted by the people and also drawn towards Wang Jie due to his calm and indifferent gaze.
However, he showed a different temperament than other individuals who sport the same expression. Wang Jie ignored them and focused his attention on the two girls.
"Alright, which one would you girls like to do first? Head to Temple and have our marriage official or explore a bit of the city?"
Wang Jie didn't want to simply marry them because of the system and truly aimed to give his love and devotion to them. Zhang Mei and Liu Ying smiled wrapping their body around him, causing people to feel envious
"Let's get married first so we can explore the city as husband and wife." Liu Ying gleefully said.
"We can't wait any longer and show heaven that we will be together forever." Zhang Mei said, giving a tender smile.
"If that is the case then let's head to the temple that Meng Hai told us."
