Maroon Garcia didn't know why teenage boys were being murdered in her small town and she wished it wouldn't keep circling back to a party that happened a year ago. 

Something happened at that party that she was desperately trying to keep secret. As the days pass the secrets keep piling up and she has tell someone. 

Maroon wanted to find the killer, mostly so she would stop getting blamed for it and she could keep her loved ones safe, but with no evidence except notes the killer was leaving on the bodies, it was easier said than done.

 2. I did not know who was killing those boys at the time
