Chapter 1 - The Scary Part

I could smell the rain. I couldn't tell if that is good or bad but I can smell it. It smells like wet dog and chlorine but it smelled good. Like in the middle of it it had a hint of lemon zest. I didn't know where I was but the moment I got there I wanted to get out. It was pitch black. I hated the dark. Out of no where headlights of a truck came on. I stumbled back from the bright light. As I regained my composure I could see 2 people in the car one was a woman, driving and another little girl about 5 or 6 was in the back. What bothered me was that she was not in a car seat. Not even a seat belt. I heard a loud honk behind me. I turned around fast enough to jump out of the way of the white SUV. But the car with the girl did not have such luck. It was like in the movies. Once something bad happens it turns to slow motion. I watched as the white haired mom looked up from her phone. Horror was plastered on her face. I watched as the girl in the back look confused as to why her mom was screaming. The SUV had a man driving it and right as it struck the truck. the man started crying. He jumped out of the car and ran to the truck stopping as he saw the little girl trying to wake the mom up. I didn't realize I was crying in till I couldn't breathe.

I wanted to get out. Now. I tried walking but my legs wouldn't move. I stayed standing and watched in horror as the little girl was removed from the car from paramedics. She must of realized that her mom wasn't waking up. She was screaming and crying and kicking and could not I blame her. Her mom was dead. She was alone now.
