[ANIME LIFE.jpg in the first comment]
What's this, and what's it doing inside my locker? It's so horrible... Wait. Izumi made this? When? She created the club only yesterday.
Well, she could've made it last night. And it surely didn't take more than 5 minutes. But, how could she distribute that many? There's one inside each locker, and lots on every wall.
"Yamamoto-san!" I hear a voice approaching. Maybe I should turn to whoever's calling me, but why?; I mean, who else could it be?
"What do you want, Fujimoto?" I ask that bitch.
"What's the meaning of this?" Fujimoto rips something off the wall. It's probably one of Izumi's flyers. "You can't distribute and/or put flyers without proper authorization."
"And who told you I did it?"
"They're from that ANIME LIFE thingy, and you're part of it."
"How can I be part of something that doesn't exist yet?" I turn to her just to see how mad she is.
Yeah. She's pretty mad.
Good.
Fujimoto says nothing but gets really close to me.
"MOVE!" she yells.
There's one of Izumi's flyers on the wall in front of me. Fujimoto probably wants to rip it off.
Ha. You think I'm gonna let you do it that easily?
No, I wanna see you struggle.
Fujimoto get even closer to me and stretches his arm towards the flyer.
"Everything ok, Fujimoto?" I ask her.
"SHUT UP!"
Fujimoto stretches as far as she can, touches the flyer with the tip of her fingers and tries to rip it off. If I push her even a little, she'll surely fall down. But that'll be just too cruel. Let's do this instead: if she touches me I'll push her. Even if she just touches my clothes with hers, I'll push her as hard as I can. And if he gets mad at me I'll tell her she scared me, so it's her fault.
"Do you need any help? You're struggling pretty hard," I get as close as I can without touching her. Come on, touch me. TOUCH ME.
Now, I don't know if she knows what I'm thinking, but she's stretching as far as she can and barely keeping her balance with one foot in the air, but she's not touching me. She's getting angrier and angrier, though, and that's great.
"Fujimoto, if you want me to rip that flyer, I'll do it gladly. You only have to ask."
She doesn't even look at me.
But she's shaking. I don't know if it's because her anger or her poor balance, but she's shaking.
You know what, Fujimoto? You're so fun when you're angry NOW TOUCH ME!
But Fujimoto manages rip off the flyer and gets away from me.
What a shame!
"Thanks for nothing", she says and then she leaves. She also rips off all flyers on her way, and they're a lot.
Well, she'll surely go to our classromm to look for Izumi, and, what a coincidence, I have to go there to, so why shouldn't I follow her?
Let's see how many flyers Fujimoto rips off before getting to the classroom.
1...
2...
3...
Etcetera...
37...
¡38! The last one is on our classroom's door.
"What the hell?" Fujimoto asks to herself, and I get near her to see what happens.
¡39! Apparently, the last, last flyer was clumsily wrapped around the door's handle. Fujimoto rips it off, opens the door and:
"WHAT?! Natsumura-san, what's the meaning of this?"
What?, what?, what? What happened? Let me see.
I push Fujimoto forward and enter the classroom.
WHAT?!
I cover my mouth with both my hands and start laughing as hard as I can, and I can't stop it; there are flyers everywhere. Even in the chalkboard. There's a lot on the chalkboard. There's so many you can't even see the chalkboard. I don't know how she could put them all there. No, wait, there are also all over the floor, and WHAT?! Also on every desk?!
Yes, yes they are. Even on mire are a bunch. And I rip them off. Why did she put them there? I'm already in her club, or doesn't she know where I sit? Because I sit by her side.
She doesn't know, right?
No, she probably doesn't.
Oh, Izumi, all this flyer thing made my day. Really. And just because of that I'm not gonna mock your horrible drawings, I mean what's up this the happy sun and were you the thing on the top left? Are those things cat ears or just some of your really messy hair? The happy cat was cute, though, but I could barely see it, and—
"Natsumura-san! ¡Natsumura-san, wake up!" Now Fujimoto is in front of Izumi's desk shaking someone who's sleeping over there. It's Izumi; her really long and really messy hair gives her away. I get near Fujimoto, and I really want to grab her by the shoulders and shake her as violently and mercilessly as I can just to make her know how it feels, but I also really want to know about what Izumi has to say about her flyers.
So I'll guess I'll leave Fujimoto be for now.
"NATSUMURA-SAN!" Fujimoto hits Izumi desk, and Izumi opens her eyes and barely moves her head towards Fujimoto.
"President-san," she says and immediately goes back to sleep.
"NATSUMURA-SAN!" Fujimoto shakes her again, and Izumi wakes up again.
"What? What?"
"WHAT'S THIS?" Fujimoto shoves one of the flyers on Izumi's face, and Izumi grabs it and takes it off.
She stares at it for a moment.
"Oh, they're my flyers. What about them? Wanna join?"
I don't know if she's really dumb or just really optimistic.
But Fujimoto will surely end that optimism right away.
Because that's what this student council does.
"Who authorized you to put them all over the school?" Fujimoto immediately yells. "Take them away!"
"But I'm not done yet," Izumi raises her head and shows us during all this time she was sleeping over a big pile of unput flyers.
And they're all drooled over.
Yuck!
"NO! You're not putting more of those, and take off the rest!"
"Sure, but can I take them off when we get the other members to join?"
No, definitely she's not that dumb. She's just weird.
"ABSOLUTELY NOT! You're gonna take them away before classes start! Come on: get up!
"I'm sleepy."
"GET UP!"
"I'M SLEEPY!"
Fujimoto gets away from Izumi. It seems the almighty president fears a loud and a messy haired girl.
But it doesn't last; now she's furious at Izumi's gut. She gets near Izumi and:
"I can take them off if you want, Fujimoto-san. Sorry about the inconveniences," says someone. We all turn towards whoever's talking.
And it's Sotoka-san (of course. Who else?). When did she arrive?
Well, she had to arrive now; class is about to start, and Sotoka-san never skips them.
She's the perfect student.
So perfect she seems fake.
"Oh, yes, Hamano-san. I'm leaving it in your hands," Fujimoto does the most formal of reverences and turns back at Izumi. "And you stop yelling, Natsumura-san!" and she leaves.
Then Sotoka-san goes to the chalkboard and starts ripping flyers off.
I shake Izumi's shoulder.
"Hey, help Sotoka-san clean your mess."
"I'm sleepy," she says it so low I can barely hear her.
"Sotoka-san won't take them all off before Horinomi-sensei arrives. She's gonna be in serious trouble because of you."
"But I'm sleepy. When will I get to sleep?"
"In class. You always sleep there."
"Oh, yeah. Ok," Izumi get up her desk, and walks slowly to the walls.
She takes a flyer and rips it off.
"Good morning, everyone," Horinomi-sensei opens the door, looks around and: "What's all this?"
"Sorry, sensei," says Sotoka-san, "it's my fault," lies Sotoka-san. "Let me just take them off."
And Sotoka-san starts ripping off flyers as fast as she can. Fortunately, there's aren't that many anymore; most of our fellow classmates already did us a favor ripping Izumi's flyers off and throwing them away.
But there are still a few for Sotoka-san.
And Izumi's sleeping again.
Well, I guess I should help Sotoka-san.
I rip some flyers off the wall.
"Well, you can take them off after class," says Horinomi-sensei. "Let's get started."
Sotoka-san and I sit down, and class starts. It's as boring and irrelevant as it always had been.
Until now: Horinomi-sensei gets in front of Izumi's desk and:
"Natsumura-san, wake up," she says, and we all turn to Izumi. She's indeed sleeping, but now she raises her head slowly. He has one of her flyers hanging off her cheek.
"I'm sleepy."
"Yes, but this is no place to sleep. But if you're that sleepy, you can go home and sleep there instead."
"I can't."
"Why not? You can't go home or you have sleeping problems or?"
"There's all my manga, and I watch anime there too..."
We all stared at Izumi silently and judgingly, but why. SHE'S IZUMI, THE WEIRDEST OF THEM ALL. If someone's staying up all night reading manga or watching anime it would be her.
"Also I don't have a bed."
"WHAT?! WHY NOT?!" did I said it or thought it.
"I sold it."
"Why? And who did you sold it to?" why am I still talking.
"I dunno, some dudes. I left a lot of flyers at every condo building and apartment I found.
"Flyers? Like this one?" I showed her one of the flyers she put in my desk, and which I'll never throw away (I'm sure looking at her horrible drawings will cheer me up on bad days).
"Yeah, kinda. I think I drew like a horse on those, but it was very ugly."
"And they worked? How?"
"Yeah, flyers always work. And those guys were so, so kind; they even went to my place and took the bed."
"Let me get this straight: you left flyers with your number in a buch of places, and then some strangers called you, and you gave them your adress and even let them in your home."
I take it back: Izumi's dumb as hell.
"Hey, girls," oh, yeah, Horinomi-sensei's still here, "could you be quiet?, and Matsumura-san, please stop sleeping in my class."
"I can't promise anything," Izumi says, but Horinomi-sensei plays deaf and returns to her desk, and class continues.
And it's still as boring and irrelevant as 5 minutes ago.
