A punch comes out of nowhere, hitting me the cheek. Staggering on my feet, I manage to keep my balance. We circle each other, turning to predict what the next move will be. I move, aiming a punch at his cheek, but he grabs my arm and twists it behind my back.
My back hits his chest, breathing heavily. His warm breath tickles my ear as he whispers, "You are getting good, but not good enough." I struggle in his arms, trying to get free, but he only chuckles and tightens his grip. "you'll never be able to defeat me, Rayla."
"Yes, I will." I start struggling more. He chuckles again but does not budges. A bright light emerges in the clearing as I keep on struggling in his arms. I look up and my gaze finds the full moon. Oh no. Not now! Not now! My heart starts beating faster and faster by the second. A voice erupts in my head, I'm back.
No! Go away!
The beast chuckles, I think I'll take it from here. He pushes me to the back of my mind as he takes control.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Finally! That girl was getting annoying. I allow the body to start the transformation. The useless hands turn into claws and the teeth into sharp canines. Hair erupts everywhere and I fall on my knees. When the transformation completes, I stand up on all fours. The breath in the fresh air, finally free of all the chains. I breathe in every scent, taking them in, but only one stands out.
My eyes take in the boy in front of me. His smells the same as the black-eyed man, but less powerful. I grin at him, showing him my sharp canines. Fear coats his eyes for a second, but it quickly disappears as determination sets in.
We circle each other, testing each other. Without a second thought, I pounce on him, but he dodges me. I land on my legs and turn to face him. The boy runs towards me, a dagger in his hands. He slashes the dagger at me, but I jump out of the way.
I feign right but run left and jump on his back. I dig my teeth his back as he screams. His blood coats my mouth and I sigh. Delicious, delicious blood. Just what I needed. Suddenly, a sour taste erupts in mouth. It is the same taste that the other man had.
I detach my teeth from his back, a sudden urge to get away from this blood, this taste. I growl and run deep into the forest, not sparing the boy a single glance.
I run deeper and deeper into the forest, following the scent. A stream of freshwater appears in my vision and I keep on running towards it. I stop at the edge of the trees and look around, assessing for any danger.
When none appears, I walk towards the stream. I take a big gulp, wanting to get rid of the foul taste. I drink and drink until the taste disappears.
Blood! I need blood. I sniff around the forest ground, trying to find the trail I wanted. When I finally find it, I follow it. My paws walk silently on the forest ground, not disturbing any of the silent. My prey appears in front of me. I crouch behind a bush, walking lightly towards it, not wanting to scare it.
When I'm my required position, I pounce on it. My teeth cut through skin and tendon, disabling the deer. The deer starts struggling, trying to get away but only causing itself more pain. I chuckle at its futile efforts. In one move, I rip the head from the body. Blood spills from its neck, but I ignore it. I bend my head and start feasting on. It's been a while since; I've had a decent meal.
SNAP! I whip my head towards the sound. I growl, my eyes roaming over the trees, trying to find the threat. A sound comes from behind and his scent invades my senses. Stupid boy. Does he really think he can defeat me? I wait for him to raise his dagger above my head before I take a U-turn and jump on him. He falls on his back with an oomph, losing his dagger in the process and I bare my teeth at him. Fear clouds his eyes and I relish in it. Delicious, delicious fear.
I can't wait to feast on it. I angle my teeth towards his throat, getting ready to rip his throat off. An arrow zips above me, missing my back with an inch. I turn towards the source and find the weak girl. I growl at her, making sure to stay on top of the boy. She runs towards but stops short when she sees my teeth towards the boy's neck.
She grabs another arrow and nocks it on the bow, getting ready to shoot. She aims the arrow at me, or more specifically my heart. "Let him go, Rayla." I watch her, knowing she won't shoot. "Rayla," she screams, "Let him go or I will shoot."
Stupid girl, I speak in her head, Do you actually think your gamble will work? Do you actually think you can shoot that arrow?
"I know I can," she replies, "I will do anything to protect my Sire and his heir."
Such loyalty, even after you have been betrayed by everyone. By your parents, your siblings, even your best friend and now Rayla too.
"Shut up!" she screams, "Shut up!" Tears start running down her face. I chuckle.
I know everything about you. I know how you try to find someone to care about, each getting your heart broken in the process. I could tell everything to Rayla if I want to.
"SHUT UP!" she screams once more. Her hands start shaking and more tears start spilling from her eyes.
"Shoot her!" the boy shouts, "Shoot her!"
Come on. Shoot me.
Her hands start shaking even more. She aims her arrow at my heart again, but her hands start shaking even violently.
Shoot me, but you can't. You know your little friend is still alive.
"Shoot her!" screams the boy, "Shoot her, Clair! Damn it!"
You still care about it even after she betrayed you. Even after she told you she didn't care about you. Are you still going to care about her? Are you still going to leave her alive, knowing she won't come back to you?
"I said, SHUT UP!" She releases the arrow and it hits the tree. I chuckle, my eyes never leaving hers.
Pathetic. No wonder, your parents didn't want you.
Pain explodes in my thigh. I growl and leap off the boy's body. I look at my thigh and see a silver dagger sticking out of it. The boy gets up, wiping blood off his nose, "She said, shut up."
You think you can defeat me
The boy grins, "I don't think I can, I know I can." Suddenly, I start to weaken. I stagger on my feet trying to stay upright. The boy starts talking, "You see even though Rayla might not feel pain, I know you can. And I also know for a fact, silver is like poison to you."
Everything blurs in front of my eyes and I start to feel dizzy. I bump into something and I look up. I see the boy but this time his eyes are black. "Nighty, night." Pain explodes in my head and I slip into the darkness.
