Chapter 13 - Chapter 12 : New information

Miyaga High School...

Eiji arrived at the school around noon, he came to the main gate and told the janitor about his appointment with the principal, after the janitors confirmed his statement they let him in politely.

He asked several times for directions before finally arriving at the office.

He knocked on the door twice before a calm, hoarse voice asked him to come in.

He pushed the door open and entered the office, where he saw a fairly old man in traditional clothing sitting behind a desk holding a pen in his hand.

The office was a large room with dark colors. In the center of the room there was a huge desk, made of dark wood with a golden lamp with a red lampshade.

The desk is complete with drawers and other storage, in the room otherwise there is furniture, bookcases or storage, in wood of the same color as the desk, dark.

Everything they contain looks extremely well classified, almost too well, as if it were a demonstration of the rigor of the owner of this desk.

A chandelier on the ceiling, modestly illuminates the place, sculptures, paintings and gilded ornaments adorned the overall decoration of the room.

On the floor was a burgundy carpet, and the walls were covered with taupe-colored carpeting.

The man seeing Eiji put the pen on the table and waved him to sit down.

Eiji nodded politely and sat down on an empty chair.

"You must be friends with that old scoundrel Dewa."

The old man stroked his beard and asked Eiji with a smile.

"Hello, I'm Yoneda Eiji, nice to meet you, i'm a colleague of Dewa's."

"A colleague? You are a teacher"

"I work in my own company in cooperation with Dewa."

"I see, so he changed jobs, I recently learned that he was dismissed, what a loss for national education."

The old man sighed, shook his head and looked at Eiji again.

"My name is Sugiyama Teruo, principal of this school, how can I help you."

"I'd like to ask you some questions about the Iwamoto case."

Sugiyama didn't seem surprised by his request, so Eiji assumed that he must have been informed by Dewa about it.

"It's okay, what are your questions."

"I already know all about this case, what I would like to know is if there was already another strange case like Iwamoto's?"

Hearing this, Sugiyama Teruo's face changed slightly, he fell silent for a moment before saying in a tone that could not hide the seriousness of his voice.

"Because you were sent by Dewa, I can make an effort and tell you certain things but you have to promise me not to tell anyone what I'm going to tell you, can you promise me that?"

Seeing Eiji nodding his head, he took a deep breath and got up from his chair and walked towards a window in front of which he was looking at the school yard.

"Our school, for the promotion of social diversity, awards ten scholarships each year to students from unfavorable backgrounds, our high school gives advantages in the selection of universities, being in this high school increases by 60% the chances of being taken in a major university, so these scholarships are very coveted, only the best students from public scool in Tokyo are eligible for this scholarship."

"It was about six months ago, one of our scholarship students named Fujino Nao inexplicably disappeared for several weeks before her corpse cut up and horribly mutilated was found in a nearby park."

He turned around, looked at Eiji sitting down and asked with a smile.

"Who do you think was the biggest suspect in this case?"

James thought for a moment and then his pupils suddenly tightened.

"Iwamoto?"

"That's right."

"Iwamoto Tomiju was the boyfriend of the girl, adding to that the fact that he was the last person to see the girl, he was considered by the investigators as the most suspicious person, but the investigators had no evidence, besides the fact that his family pressured the investigators to drop their investigation, only me and a few teachers know about this case".

"The owners of the school and the Tomiju family, not being want to let this case come out to the general public, put pressure on the police, making the case invisible to the general public, even the students don't know about it."

. . . . .

Eiji walked across the schoolyard with a pensive look on his face towards the door when a hand touched his shoulder.

"I thought I threatened you properly last time, but apparently you're not afraid I'll call the police."

Eiji turned around with a smile, grabbed the hand and said happily.

"Hello Miss Sawada, you're as charming as ever."

"What are you doing here?"

She asked as she withdrew her hand from Eiji's grasp.

"I had an appointment with the principal."

Seeing that Eiji didn't look like she was lying, she looked away and left.

"If your appointment is over, please leave this school."

Eiji, seeing her leave, smiled and walked towards the gate and left the school with a slightly dark look on his face.

He walked for a while before stopping in a quiet and deserted alley before turning back.

"Come out of your hiding place, I know you've been following me since this morning."
