His brow rose. "The last time I checked, you didn't get hired to a community store. Neither do you have a job. And I'm certainly sure the money in there goes up to seven thousand which is a whole lot of money"
"probably. But how does this concern you exactly?" I eyed him oddly. He has this knack of scaring me out with his low conspiratorial voice. A mischievous glint loomed and found its way into his eyes.
"Wait till Mother hears about this" he slowly made up the stairs. Scared out of my wits and not willing to divulge the true source of the money, I grooped his arm pleadingly.
"What do you want? "
He sighed in victory. His smirk widening with the thought that with just a little threat he'd have me doing whatever he wanted. He gestured to my loot, looking like a thief Who'd just hit gold.
" How much exactly do you want?" I lowered my gaze pained to the parcel. Gingerly counting out the extra David had left me, I handed it over to him. He counted it, still eyeing my bag. After counting it carefully he spoke up. "Not enough. I want all of it"
"No" I said quickly. Nothing in the world would make me give up this money. Step mother or not.
"Well I'd just have to do what I'm always good at doing"
