Xavier froze and his mind quickly made up some excuses that he could give Luka but then, he decided to be honest because the Luka that he knew never liked lies, even if they meant to protect him.
"Yes," Xavier finally answered simply but he avoided saying 'we are' or 'we were' because he didn't want to push their relationship on Luka.
Luka stared at him for a few moments before he turned his gaze to the ceiling and sighed. "What am I exactly?"
His question caught Xavier off guard. He had thought that Luka would want to know more or at least would say something about it but Luka had changed the subject this way.
"I—you—I'm not sure…" Xavier finally answered him, deciding to be truthful to whatever Luka asked and said no matter what.
