Xavier's mouth remained agape as he listened to Luka's response. "What?" he asked, still trying to wrap his head around the situation.
Luka laughed nervously, getting up from the bed. "Yeah, no, I can't do this alone. Let's go find Will. I told him to be in the Narcissus Garden today."
"Aha. Okay," Xavier replied, nodding frequently, trying to understand the situation he seemed to have overlooked.
"Don't bother," Luka said, chuckling genuinely. "I can see you trying to think of something to say, but I said don't bother. Shut down your brain until we see Will. Then you can bombard him with your questions, not me."
Xavier nodded, realizing that Luka was just as confused and nervous about the situation. He tried to lift the mood, suggesting, "Wanna get a piggyback?"
"A what?" Luka laughed, and Xavier cherished every moment of his laughter. He didn't want anything to hurt Luka, and he feared what the future might hold for them.
