As Modoru walked to the mine, he tightened up his black plated armor and secured his goggles to his forehead. He had faced larger odds before in his career as hyper effective combatant for the military. It all relied on his strategy going into the fight. Because he was outnumbered almost 10:1 he would need to even the odds. He had the speed advantage, but they had projectiles which very much so evened things out. So Modoru had decided his plan of attack, if negotiations broke down, would be to turn off the generator lights to the entire mine. Modoru touched his trusty goggles again. Nokosu and Agatha always made fun of him for wearing the goggles, but little did they know it wasn't just for style. The goggles had another function – that being allowing him to see in the dark. They were coated with night vision film from the future, that allowed him to perform on missions, even in pitch black. Truly they were his ace in the hole. As Modoru arrived inside the mine all the security officers noticed him and trained their guns on him, but Meishu raised a hand, and they all held their trigger fingers.
"Meishu, I shall get straight to the point. Give me the Xenophite, and no one needs to get hurt." Modoru said with authority.
"Modoru, if we're getting straight to business, then the answer is no. I shall not give you the Xenophite. In fact…." Meishu said as he walked over to one of the officers who gave him a pail that had the emblem of Shibuya on it, "My intention is too destroy it." Modoru quickly assessed the situation, if he ported to Meishu now, he would probably get hit in the crossfire of bullets. Deciding to let this play out he let Meishu talk. "If we cannot have it, then you cannot have it either. Whatever Rukaku Labs is using it for, it is not going to happen. My job as a security officer is to secure the assets of Shibuya against its competition. We are destroying the Xenophite and taking you and Nokosu back to Rukaku Labs so you can face time there." Modoru was quite confused for a second but connected the dots. Because getting caught was all of because of Nokosu's call, Meishu must have surmised that he and Nokosu were from Rukaku Labs – Shibuya's competitor. Modoru almost felt bad for Meishu as he was under the wrong assumption and decided whether to tell him the actual truth – maybe he would believe it. As Modoru started to say something, Meishu sealed his fate. He started pouring the pail, which released a green liquid onto the Xenophite. Immediately, the Xenophite started degrading before Modoru's eyes and he panicked.
"WAIT! I NEED THAT XENOPHITE! Meishu, it's not too late, if you give me the Xenophite, I can explain everything," Modoru exclaimed. Meishu didn't even register Modoru statement as he looked intently at the degrading Xenophite. Modoru felt as if he was slowly losing his chance at being with his new family and there was nothing, he could do about it. There were too many trained guns on him. All he could do was watch, as the Xenophite degraded into nothingness. Modoru could feel anger boiling up but kept it under control. If he left now and went back to the apartment, he, Nokosu, and Agatha would get caught. Modoru knew the only way for them to safely get out of this predicament now was knock out the guards and give Nokosu and Agatha time to escape…. somewhere. Modoru took a deep breath and relaxed. 'You brought this on yourself, Meishu,' he thought. Modoru then turned on his C.S device and instantly ported to the generator for the lights to the mine.
"Lights out boys," Modoru said. As he flipped the switch, he put his goggles on. Under his vision, the entire area then illuminated itself in a ghostly green, with each officer looking like a green outline. He could hear the soldiers panicking.
"Where did he go?" said one of the officers.
"What happened to the lights?!" said another officer. Modoru then took a quick second to think of a plan of attack. The officers were heavily armored. Putting every one of them into a full nelson would take too long. He needed to knock them out – hard and fast. Getting into his snake kung-fu stance, Modoru ported into the pitch-black dark. Appearing behind the first officer, he struck the officers knee to disable the officer's stance. Then hitting hard, he struck the solar plexus of the guard who crumpled to the floor in pain. Not needing to inflict any further damage, as snake kung-fu was a highly offensive and tremendously painful type of martial art, Modoru moved on the next officer. All the officers could do was listen and wait in fear as Modoru knocked out each one – the pitch-black dark and speed of his teleporting working to his advantage. As Modoru reached Meishu, he decided to put Meishu into a full nelson because there no other threats to register anymore.
"Where are you? Show yourself Modoru! Modoru!!..." Meishu said with finality as he fell victim to Modoru's full nelson. After the entire room was secured, Modoru ported away and out of the mine, leaving the fallen officers in the dark and Meishu to his defeat.
