A week after Charlotte's arrival at the house, Christabell finally did an interview to recruit a babysitter to help her take care of baby Adrianna. Several professional babysitters who work under babysitting service providers came to conduct interviews, which Christabell handled directly. This is important for Christabell because she is very selective in choosing prospective babysitters for her only daughter, she doesn't want to carelessly hire people to help her take care of her baby.
Christabell is actually quite nervous about doing this interview. Even though she was a person who shouldn't feel nervous at all because she was the one in charge. But the thought of seeing people leave the room with disappointed faces made Christabell shudder nervously. Charlotte come to her room and took over Adrianna so that her mother can prepare for an interview.
"Good luck with the interview." Said Charlotte while carrying baby Adrianna.
"Thank you. "Replied Christabell. Her face was clearly nervous, but Christabell tried to smile to hide her nervousness.
Actually, this interview has been conducted since yesterday. There are a total of fourteen applicants, and it is divided into two interview sessions. Ten people had arrived yesterday and none of them matched Christabell's wishes, and today there are only four left. Apart from being nervous about having to judge someone's personality from the small talk between them, Christabell is much more nervous about the fact that everything is over the interview and none of them match her heart's desire.
As expected, the three people she had interviewed were none of whom fit into her heart. And no more candidates came. Christabel was forced to repeat the announcement of the Babysitter search because none of them matched her wish. When Christabell was preparing to leave the room, suddenly someone was seen walking hastily into the house escorted by a housemaid.
"Sorry, I am late." She said.
Christabell smiled. "Have a seat, please." Said Christabell. Although in her heart he clearly doesn't like people who are not on time. Discipline is the most important thing in caring for a baby besides love and tenderness.
"What made you late?" Christabell asked curiously.
The young girl replied innocently, "Actually I still do home care for an eighty-seven-year-old woman. And I have to bathe her and give her breakfast before leaving her." Said the prospective interviewee.
"Can we get started right away, I don't have much time?" Given this, it is almost time for Adrianna to feed.
"Yes." The girl nodded politely once again.
Christabell put his full attention on the girl who sat opposite her, for some reason her brown hair, curled eyelashes, and innocent face really reminded Bell of herself when she was still living in the orphanage. "Tell me about you." She said when he found her consciousness again after being stunned.
"My name is Zoey, I'm twenty years old. I had experience being a babysitter before, but because they moved to Italy I lost my job. You can see the rest in the curriculum vitae I emailed." Zoey said to the Christabell.
Christabell rosed her eyebrows, "Where do you live?" She asked.
"I'm living in the nuns' dorm," Zoey answered with a smile.
Christabell's brows furrowed. "You don't live with your parents?"
"I grew up there." Honest Zoey.
"Oh…" Christabell swallowed hard. She actually found a correlation between this innocent girl and also her youthful self. They both grew up without their parents present. While considering, Charlotte came complete with baby Adrianna's cries.
"I gave her milk and she still cries," She said in a panic. Christabell tried to calm her down by taking Adrianna from Charlotte's arms and tried to calm her down, but somehow baby Adrianna looked a little different from usual.
While all of this was happening in front of Zoey, the girl was too brave to approach Christabell and stand next to her, putting Christabell on alert.
"May I try to calm her down." The girl asked politely, although for a moment to consider and a little doubt, but in the end, Christabell handed over baby Adrianna to Zoey and let him try to calm her down.
The young girl hummed while carrying Adrianna and gently rubbed Adrianna's back, even Zoey hummed softly and her action was able to calm baby Adrianna's crying slowly. Somehow it didn't take long for her to calm baby Adrianna and it made Christabell wonder, as did Charlotte. After ten minutes in Zoey's arms, baby Adrianna even fell asleep.
"She feels uncomfortable with her stomach after drinking milk. Gently patting his back on the head-up position will make her burp a little and make his stomach more comfortable." Explained Zoey long.
"Where did you learn to do all this?" Christabell asked when Zoey handed baby Adrianna back to him.
"I worked for my former employer for more than two years, mam," Zoey said.
Christabell turned to Charlotte. Even without a word, Charlotte seems to agree with Christabell's idea of hiring Zoey, after the previous thirteen people failed to live up to her expectations. Zoey is young, she is nimble and she knows how to understand baby language. Because for babies crying is the only language they can express the various feelings they feel. And only people who understand and love babies sincerely can translate it, apart from this is a matter of experience. Zoey was absolutely the perfect candidate, that's what Christabell's little heart said.
Christabell took Adrianna from Zoey's arms and stared at the young girl. "If you get this job, can you stay in this house?" Asked Christabell.
The young girl's eyes sparkled, she could not hide her happiness even though Christabell had not said her decision, but Christabell's question about living in that house was already a very clear implicit sign. "Of course mam, I will." Zoey nodded. But the expression on her face suddenly changed, she hesitantly asked Christabell, "But if you will allow me, may I visit the nuns occasionally to see them?" Zoey asked.
Christabell smiled broadly, "Of course it's not a problem at all. I even want to visit them too someday." Christabell replied.
"Thank you, mam," Zoey replied with sparkling eyes and a sincere smile.
"I'll show you your room." Said Christabell. "You will stay in that room while you work in this house." He said again.
Charlotte interrupted, "You take Adrianna to the room, and lay her down. I'll show Zoey the room." Charlotte said.
"Thank you," Christabell replied.
"Zoey, come with me. Let's see your room." Charlotte walked out of the room followed by Zoey. Meanwhile, Christabell took the baby to the room to lay down on his bed.
"You don't have to go back to the monastery to get your things. This afternoon all will be available in your cabinet, new clothes, and also what you need while living in this place." Bright Charlotte. She has received explanations from Christabell and also Richard about the rules and what the babysitter might receive later.
"Thank you." Nod Zoey.
Charlotte drew closer to her. "You're lucky to be accepted into this family, anywhere else you won't get what you get in this place. They will treat you like family, so don't disappoint them." Charlotte's message remembers how kind Richard Anthony and his wife are.
