Richard had just returned home after a long day at his office. News of Adrianna's babysitter immediately rang out in his ears. Without stalling for time, Richard asked his confidants to investigate Zoey's background, Adrianna's new nanny.
Unmitigated, Richard asked for a full report on Zoey's background that very night. Like Christabell who is selective in choosing a babysitter, Richard also doesn't want for a second to let her baby be with the wrong person who will endanger Adrianna. Based on his past experiences, Rich was very careful about involving outsiders in his household, especially the people who worked for him.
Christabell heard that Richard had returned home but he didn't go into his room yet. After making sure Adrianna was fast asleep in her bed, Christabell walked into Richard's study to see what her husband was doing this late. Without knocking on the door Christabell entered the room that was half-open before Chrisatbell entered.
"Richard," Christabel said, she walked over to the chair where her husband was sitting and gave him a brief hug.
"You didn't sleep yet?" Richard raised his head and stared at his wife's face.
"What are you still doing at this late. You should take a shower and get some rest. You've spent all day working at your office and you're still working after coming home." Christabell protests.
Richard smiled and grabbed his wife's waist, tugging her until Chrsitabell fell to his lap. With his forefinger, Richard tugged at his wife's hair that covered her face and pinned it behind Christabell's ear, then said, "You look pretty when you looked piss off, Mrs. Anthony." Richard teased. "But I really have to do this right away." He said.
"Do not seduce." Christabell pinched the tip of Richard's nose gently. "What do you have to do this late?" Asked Richard.
Richard pulled his laptop closer and let Christabell see what was there. All personal data and history of Zoey, Adrianna's new nanny. "I have to make sure you pick the right person to help you babysit Adrianna, honey," said Richard.
Christabell looked at her husband, "Do you really have to do all this, Rich?" Asked Christabell. From the tone of her voice, Christabell seemed to disagree with what her husband was doing.
Richard touched Chistabell's face with both hands and looked at her deeply. He took a deep breath and said, "Many times I see you and Adrianna in danger. And I will not let that happen again, not to you, not to Adrianna too. This is my way of protecting my wife and my daughter, please understand me, my dear. " Persuade Richard.
Christabell bowed briefly, "But I see that young girl as an innocent girl. She can't do anything that might hurt me or Adrianna, " Christabell replied.
Richard smiled, "After I checked his background, I found the same facts as you feel. So now you will feel comfortable when she works for you, and I will be more at ease after making sure that my wife is helped by the right person." Light Richard.
Christabell smiled, "So, now you can close your laptop and take a shower." He said.
"Of course," replied Richard. "But before that, I want to lean back for a while in your chest." Said Richard as he buried his face in Chrsitabell's chest. A place in his wife's body that had a fresh scent, warm and soft, which had always been a favorite for Richard to lean on. Christabell stroked her husband's thick hair gently and let him enjoy a short break in her chest for a while.
In the silence between them, Christabell remembered something. This morning Charlotte said that she had already bought a flight ticket back to Canada. "Has Charlotte told you about her plans to return to Canada?" Asked Chritsabell.
Richard raised his head, "Not yet." Richard shook his head. "I'll ask her tomorrow," Richard replied again.
Christabell took a deep breath, "I wish she could stay a little longer." Said Christabel.
Richard smiled as he looked into his wife's eyes, "She also has her own world." Said Richard trying to calm Chrsitabell.
The woman nodded, "I heard Charlotte's story about her childhood." Christabell changed the subject.
"That's good." Richard did not seem too surprised by this considering that Charlotte was a friendly and open girl. It is very easy for her to get along with other people and be open about herself.
Christabell said softly while stared at her husband's face, "I never heard a line from your mouth about your childhood Mr. Anthony."
While Richard looked quite shocked to hear about that question, he took a deep breath before answered about that question, "Not much to say." He seemed reluctant to tell his past.
Christabell looked at his husband's eyes deeper, "I'm your wife, I want to know everything about you. Even the worst part of your entire life. No judgment, I promised." Said Christabell.
Richard rose his eyebrows, his jaws tightened for a while, "Em, What should I say?" Richard considered starting his story. "I was born to my mother and my father two years after their marriage. My father and mother were college friends and they fell in love with each other. Even so, it took more than eight years before they finally decided to get married." Rich paused while Christabell seemed absorbed in listening.
"When I was seven years old, my mother died of an illness that I never wanted to know myself."
"Why?" Asked Christabell.
"It hurt me, so I choose not to know what caused it." Richard smiled, although behind that smile his eyes looked dark.
Christabell rubbed her husband's face, "I'm sorry for your lost." Christabell said full of condolence.
"It's ok, It was a long time ago." Richard smiled. He continued his story, "My father remarried when I was nine years old. Eleonora and Brandon are my mother and stepbrother." Richard took another deep breath. "I was angry with my father for years after that. Somehow I had a hard time accepting his decision to bring other women and her son into our house, even though Eleonora is not a bad woman like the one in fairy tales. I had somebody took my mother places in our house." Richard looked bitter when he talked about that dark story.
"You must have felt very lonely at that time." Christabell understood the bitter feelings her husband was feeling.
"Very," replied Richard. "I feel that no one else loves me as much as my mother loves me. And the romantic relationship I saw between my father and mother was just a lie, after my mother died my father brought another woman into the house. And that woman has a child who is always hostile to me. Of course her mother. defend her, and it makes me feel even more out of place in my own house. Sometimes I protest for the life I live, if my mother were around, she wouldn't let anyone else hurt me. I was very young then. " Richard said.
"So that's what makes you distrustful of relationships between men and women?" Christabell asked curiously.
"Yep," Richard replied. "I grew up and felt uninterested in having a relationship with anyone. Being attached to someone makes us weak." He said.
Christabell narrowed her eyes, "So what made you change your mind?" Christabell's soft hand caressed Richard's jaw, which had begun to fill with fine hairs.
Richard smiled. "It's not easy to break my principles." The answer.
"I really want to know why you ended up opening yourself up to a relationship. Even though it doesn't always involve feelings. Your relationship with Gabrielle for example, even though you said you didn't involve your feelings, you were in a relationship for a long time." Christabell let go of her embrace, but Richard hugged her back instead.
"Can this conversation be between us, don't mention other people's names. To me, you are my world, no place for other women, never." Richard was firm, though his tone sounded soft to Christabell's ears. "You still want to hear the next story?" Asked Richard.
Christabell smiled. "Go on." She said.
"The day my father died, hours before the critical moment. He had told me something that completely changed my mind about him." Light Rich.
"What is that?" Christabell was more and more curious.
"He said that until that moment, all he had in his heart was my mother and me. There was never another woman he loved. About Eleonora, that was also one of her ways to love me because he realized that he was not young anymore, and would not be in the world forever. So when he died, he hoped there was someone I could call family, after I didn't have a father and mother. Besides, from the age of nine to adulthood I wouldn't have grown so well if Eleonora didn't take care of me." Richard explained.
"I understand now." Said Christabell. "And I was the reason you lost your only remaining family." Christabell's expression was full of regret.
"Hey…" Richard tugged at his chin so they stared at each other. "It's not your fault." Richard encouraged his wife. "Brandon is overreacting, and he needs treatment."
"But your mother no longer considers that you were her Son." Said Bell with a teary gaze.
"I was never considered a son by her by the way. She didn't love me as her son, she loves my father's money than me."
"Richard," Christabell hugged her husband, and Rich rubbed his wife's back softly.
"For me, you and Adrianna are family. I never need anyone as long as both of you are with me."
Christabell was unmoved, she was crying bitterly in her heart. "I hope your relationship with your mother can be improved." Bell later said, after a moment of silence.
"Time will heal the wound." Richard smiled.
"Yes." Nodding Bell agreed.
Richard released his embrace. "Let's back to the room, you should rest and I will take a shower," Richard said while they rose from the chair and went to their room.
They really always fall in love with each other even though they meet each other every day. The striking difference between them actually attracts each other, like two different magnetic poles but continues to attract each other. Acceptance of a partner is one of the keys to lasting a relationship. Whether it's a matter of the past or the present, it is the most important part for couples so that they can understand each other in the relationship.
Christabell came into the room, after checking Adrianna and covering her, Christaell crawled onto the bed and fell asleep after being tired of keeping Adrianna all day long. Meanwhile, Richard took a shower. Before going to sleep, Rich had a chance to look at Christabell who had fallen asleep first. Like an angel without wings, that was Christabell in his eyes.
