Enyo woke up the next morning and saw Hunter was already up. He had left her a small note making her smile.
Morning babe,
Come find me in my office. You don't need to knock but knowing you. I'm guessing you will anyway. It was great waking up with you in my arms. See you soon.
Okay maybe having a mate wasn't so bad. She thought to herself. "I told you so." She rolled her eyes at her wolf. After brushing her teeth and combing her hair she pulled on a pair of running pants and a shirt. As she got to his office, she knocked then opened the door. "How did you sleep?" Hunter asked as he stood up and walked over to her. "I slept great. Do you mind if I go for a run? It helps me think about what I want to do today." Hunter took her hand in his. "You can do whatever you want baby. Just stay in the pack lands okay." She said she would then headed out.
Enyo is out enjoying her run when she smells something rotten. She also hears some kids playing close by. Shit, she can't link Hunter until he marks her. She quickly shifts and runs to the kids. She stands in front of them growling as two Rouges walk into the clearing. The kind scream and stay behind her. Enyo will protect them with her life if she has too. "Luna... Alpha is on his way now." Just then a rouge launched at her she quickly tackled it and pinned it down.
Enyo heard a kid scream and turned to see one of the rouges coming closer to them. She feels the one under her bite her leg as it tossed her off it. She stood up and shook herself off. She once more moved to stand in front of the kids. Just as one of the rouges jumped at her again a black wolf tackled it snapping its neck. The wolf walked over and licked her. She looked into its eyes and knew it was Hunter. She stayed in front of the kids as Hunter took on the other rouge.
She was laying on the ground in front of the kids as another wolf came forward. She let out a growl. "It's okay Luna that's Miko and his wolf Tanner." The wolf shifted as the two kids ran into his arms. She laid her head down on her paws as Hunter stood over her in a protective way.
After a few mins when he knew they were safe he shifted. "Enyo can you shift back now?" When she did, he took her arm and saw the bite mark. "It will heal Hunter." She smiled at the worry she saw in his eyes. It warmed her heart to know he cared so much. "Thank you for coming to them kids aid." She looked into his eyes. "Well I'm there Luna so it was my job, but even if they were not from our pack, I would have done the same. Hunter, you need to mark me so I can link with you."
Hunter looked down at her. "Are you sure you are ready for that?" he asked as they walked back. "Yes. Hunter, I have to be able to link the pack if there is trouble." They walked into there room and sat on the bed. He cleaned her arm and wrapped it. "I will try to make it fast my pet." Hunter bit into her shoulder making her yelp out. After a few mins, the pain faded, and he licked the blood off her. She felt something slam into her mind as she could hear every wolf from her new pack. She quickly put up a wall, so she was not overwhelmed. She laid down for a min. "This will make you tired for a bit take a nap love. I will be in my office." She closed her eyes as he pulled the blankets over her.
It had been two hours since he had marked her. He was in a council meeting when she walked in. "Sweetheart how are you feeling?" she rolled her eyes at him. "Can you stop with all the pet names? My name is Enyo not baby, babe, love, sweetheart, or pet." He let out a growl. "You shouldn't talk to you king like that." She took a seat next to him. "I didn't I talked to my mate like that." She said with a wave of her hand. "Enyo." She looked at him. "Oh, so you do know my name after all. Now maybe you could try to use it more often." She stood up and left the room.
Hunter followed her. "You will not talk to me like that in front of the council members." He yelled out. "Or what and don't even try growling because we both know I'm not scared of you." She said as she stood there looking at him. Hunter grabbed her and kissed her. "Why is it whenever you talk to me like this it turns me on?" he growled. "Because no one else will so it's refusing to have someone challenge your stubborn ass."
