RAFAEL
Losing people and sudden deaths were the two things I didn't like in this mortality. Though I have a clear understanding of how the cycle of life works, it doesn't make the pain of being left behind go away. Nor does it make it any easier to bear.
I stared at the tombstone in front of me. On top of that and beside it and at the bottom of it were several other headstones.
This place is called The Memorial. It's a faction found inside every medical building. It's for burials and, as the name suggests, a place for remembering the loved ones we've already lost.
I traced the name inscribed on the tombstone before placing the single white rose I was holding.
"Hey, mom. It's been a while." I took a deep breath giving Ava, who was standing by the entrance, a sideways glance.
She caught my gaze and offered a faint smile. She said she'll come over once I had my alone time with my mother.
I have a feeling that it was more than that.
