HERO
Hero was mesmerized. After fifteen years of not seeing each other, he can't believe that the woman standing in front of him was Avalyn.
He had formerly known her as Shay Reynolds. Eventually, she became Shay Zephanie after being adopted by Marcus Zephanie, the same man who visited her back at the orphanage before the apocalypse.
The apocalypse. Hero could faintly remember opening his eyes to a world of devastation. Ruined buildings and fallen trees, corpses of both humans and animals alike, scattered on the ground.
In Hero's eyes, the world has been painted red.
As red as the dress Avalyn was wearing.
"Mister Zephanie." Momentarily, Hero averted his gaze towards Marcus, Marcus Zephanie as Eden, the man he was working for, shook hands with the former.
"Eden, a pleasure to have you here at The Mesial." Hero inclined his head in a gesture to acknowledge Marcus Zephanie.
"And you brought a fine young fellow with you." Eden clapped Hero on the shoulders, smiling broadly.
