MARY
Mary Earle fancied staring at the pendulum balls standing on Marcus Zephanie's center table in the living room of his apartel while she was situated across from him. Marcus had his legs crossed, displaying confidence while Mary was trying not to appear too anxious to get this sudden meeting to be over and done with.
Gratefully, her heart rate had calmed down a little. She was still wary and nervous about why Marcus had called for her to come early today. Her schedule for reporting to him was still two hours away from now.
Despite her nerves settling down, Mary would have preferred the comfort of her bed and some garlic bread for breakfast instead of where she was at the moment. As if on cue, she felt her stomach grumble. She had yet to eat anything and her stomach was already voicing it out.
Great. Mary thought. Thankfully, it wasn't too loud. Else, Mary wouldn't know what to do if Marcus Zephanie had heard that. It was too embarrassing.
