Chapter 44 - Chapter 64: Chaos

The atmosphere after school โ€“ it always gave off a freedom like feeling to the students because school would be over at that time and they could finally go back home or goof around.

As the final bell would ring through the whole school, students would flood out from all the classes. Some of them who were connected with clubs, would go over to their respective club and spend time there. The rest the others, whereas, would split in halfs. One half would go home and the other half would hang out somewhere else. Some students would also study in groups in one of those cafe nearby.

This was what high school life was. This was what Kaori and her seven friends always thought as well. But today, even if the final bell rang out, the call of freedom didn't feel as to come.

Nobody dared to break the silence that fell into the classroom of third year's section โ€“ D.

Nobody dared but Kaori suddenly made a move. She grasped ahold of Robin's wrist and pulled him with her, "Come with me for a second. Excuse us."

Robin didn't resist her as he got pulled out of the room and was brought to the corridor, away from the classroom.

"What do you think you are doing?" Kaori demanded of Robin at once.

"What do you mean?" Robin asked indifferently.

Kaori tried to keep herself calm, "Why are you doing this?"

"Why?" He repeated. "There's no reason," He shrugged, "I felt like I could just hang out with her. I figured that you guys would like her, too. So I introduced her to you."

"Liar," Kaori's eyes turned red in fury. "You didn't have to do that in front of Dylanthy."

"Dylanthy?" Robin said uncertainly, "What are you talking about?"

"Stop trying to act dumb!" Kaori yelled, "I know what happened between you two at the festival."

Robin's eyes widened, "I see, so she told you."

"Yes," Kaori looked at his eyes, "Why did you do that if you like her? Stop confusing your own feelings!"

"I don't have any feelings for her," Robin said in a robotic tone.

"What?" Kaori said in disbelief.

"Even if I do," Robin said lowly, "It doesn't matter anyway. I'll just try to ignore this feeling and live on."

"Wait, what do you mean?" Kaori was the one left in confusion now.

"Dylanthy doesn't feel comfortable around me," Robin said, facing Kaori, "She didn't reply to my confession. She said nothing at all. She's been avoiding me lately, too. I just make her uneasy. So it's better to just say that my feelings are nothing and just be good friends with her again. I don't want to loose a nice friendship over this. Instead, I'll just be who I am."

"Robin," Kaori said, "You promised Dylanthy that you wouldn't be like this."

"Didn't you hear me just now? It's too late to change things anyways. My feelings for her is nothing."

"It's not late! You can change if you want to!" Kaori yelled again, "And stop lying to me, you idiot!" Tears formed in her eyes. She knows that her words won't cut into him, but she didn't have anything else in her mind that she could say out.

"I'm not lying," Robin's eyes bored into Kaori's as the two made a deep eye contact.

A light painful smile raised into Kaori's lips, "I can tell when people are lying, you know. I'm not just saying it casually."

Robin let out a sigh and turned around to leave, "It doesn't matter. From today onwards, I decided to forget my feelings for Dylanthy. It's over for me, for us."

He was about to take a step away when Kaori's stern voice could be heard.

"Robin, You're not the one to decide that. And," She stopped and then decided to use her last option, "Dylanthy likes you."

Robin froze in his position as he heard this.

"Dylanthy likes you, Robin," Kaori said again. "But if you take one more step from where you right now, it's really over between you two." She said calculatively. This was her last card to make a bet. If this doesn't work out, it's really over.

Robin sighed internally.

He took his steps forwards and walked away from Kaori.

Seeing him walk away, the tears in Kaori's eyes couldn't stop from rushing out. She screamed loudly, punching the air โ€“ mental frustration taking her over. As her tears poured down, she slid down on the floor, forgetting to keep the words she gave to go over to the council room after school.

Robin stormed off, walking away from the girl who lets out a loud scream when he leaves the scene.

Dylanthy quickly hid behind the wall as Robin passed by without noticing her.

She had heard the full conversation between the two. Clutching her hands into fists as she recalled what Robin said, she tried to stop her tears from falling as she heard the cries of Kaori. She let out a deep sigh, wiping her eyes and peeping over to look at Kaori who was sitting on the floor now.

A sad smile appeared on her lips while watching Kaori. She knew how much of a pure friend Kaori was, but she never thought how much her friend could get hurt just because Dylanthy would be hurt from this incident as well. Dylanthy wanted to go and hug her but she couldn't. Because she didn't want to make the situation uncomfortable for Kaori.

Letting out another big sigh, Dylanthy left the scene as well.

*************************************************

Walking out of the classroom, as Wood looked around, he saw Dylanthy standing near the wall of the staircase.

Her facial expression raised a question in his mind. But before he could walk over to ask her anything, she walked away down the stairs. He was even more dumbfounded that she didn't notice him.

Shrugging, he was about to walk through the corridor when he saw Kaori curled up in a corner of the way under one of the windows in the corridor.

He quickly went to her and shook her shoulder, "Hey Kaori, why are you sitting here? What's wrong?"

As he literally felt her shaking, he understood that she was crying, "Hey, are you okay? Why are you crying? Do you feel sick?"

"I'm not sick," Kaori mumbled, choking a bit as she hugged her knees tighter toward her chest.

"Did something happen?" Wood asked slowly, "You took Robin away when he introduced Johann to us. Did something happen with him?"

"No."

Wood let out a sigh. Kaori wasn't making things easy. "Then why are you crying?" Wood asked.

Kaori looked up with red eyes. "I'm not crying," She said feebly and Wood squinted at her.

"Yeah, yeah," He rolled his eyes, sitting down on the floor beside her. "Are you done crying or will you cry more?" He asked casually.

"What's it to you?" Kaori asked rather rudely.

"Crying alone is a little lonely," Wood laughed, "So I'll stay here with you until you're okay."

"Stupid," Kaori mumbled.

"But you appreciate it, don't you?" He smirked.

Kaori gave a murderous look, "Get lost."

"Sorry, sorry," He laughed awkwardly, holding his hand up in the air.

*************************************************

Tom, Melissa and Willia were still waiting with Johann in the classroom for their friends to come back.

At first Robin was taken away by Kaori, then Dylanthy had also left and then Wood went to look for the first two โ€“ like this the group seperated unknowingly and now it was just the four waiting in the class for the others to come back.

Willia let out a sigh, unfolding her hands, "I think it's better to leave. I don't think those guys are coming back any sooner." "I can't wait anymore since my mom's going to get mad at me if I return late," She turned at the others.

"I promised to help with cleaning the house in the afternoon today," Tom informed.

"I also have some plans," Melissa laughed. "What about you?" She asked Johann.

Johann looked troubled, "I was suppose to spend time with Robin. But he didn't come back."

Willia threw her arm around Johann's shoulders and said, "Robin won't be back today. So you should go home, too. Just go out on another day. I think it's better to call the day off. You can call him later anyway and plan out. You have his number, right?"

"Yeah," Johann replied hesitantly.

"Then there's no bummer," Willia grinned and gave pats on the girl's shoulder. Then said cheerfully to her friends, "Let's go, let's go!"

The four left without saying goodbye to their other friends.

Yamaken sattled his reading glasses back on his nose as he let out a groan while massaging his neck with his hand, walking out of the school library.

He gave short nods at the squealing girls who he had met eyes with on the way outside. Then he quickly made his way towards the main school building.

"Well, well, well, look who we have here."

Yamaken stopped on his track as he heard the voice that never failed to irritate him. He turned around with a scowl on his face to meet the boy face to face.

"Bet you finally decided to show yourself back in the campus, huh?" Tim smirked, "Were you scared of something? Haven't seen you anywhere since that certain day, little scardy cat. It was as if you were washed off the world's surface." His friends sniggered, surrounding him like his bodyguards.

"What do you want?" Yamaken asked, straight on point.

Tim stole some glances around his prey, then smirked for a second time. "Seems like you don't have your master around you today," He stated with a scornful laugh.

Yamaken's eyes widened at the sentence. But his eyes narrowed in annoyance as he spat back, "What do you want with her?"

"Oh?" Tim laughed, "You didn't say anything as to me calling her your master. Is there something going on here?" He nudged Yamaken with a smirk on his face.

"Shut your trap," He snapped, slapping his hand away, "If you have nothing better to say, I'm leaving."

"Where do you think you are going? Did I permit you to leave?"

Yamaken stopped for the second time this day and let out a sigh. He looked back at Tim who was still wearing a smirk, "You think your threatening voice will make me fall on my knees?"

Tim laughed as he approached Yamaken, "It seems I chose the perfect day today. I was waiting for you to come back and here you are, even by yourself at that one. Now, now, did you forget something?"

Suddenly, he caught Yamaken by surprise as he pulled on the other's collar and brought his face closer to his own.

"Do you remember that day in the cafeteria on the trip?" He growled at Yamaken, his eyes turning red in rage. If glare could kill, Yamaken could be dead by now.

But Yamaken stayed calm and replied, "How could I forget? You began to really get on my nerves from that day on."

"Heh, look who's talking," Tim rolled his eyes. He then burned Yamaken with his eyes again, "Do you know how much insult I felt that day? I had to relive that moment every single day until now!"

Yamaken let out a breath, "Then you should just behave. Why are you grabbing me by the collar? Let go."

"And today," Tim continued, ignoring the things Yamaken said, "Here you are. Do you know how contented I feel?"

"Have you lost some of your brain cells? Listen to what you are saying. You sound crazy, dude."

"Don't talk!" Tim shook Yamaken forwards and backwards, "It's my day today!"

Yamaken got dizzy from the heavy shake and only then he realized something was wrong.

The school ground looked unusually empty and strangely enough one of Tim's friends was holding a hockey stick in his hand.

A smirk crept up to Yamaken's lips as he looked straight into Tim's eyes, "So, do you like playing hockโ€”?"

At once, Yamaken's vision blurred as he felt a strong force on his left cheek that made his head snap to the right, the glasses he was wearing flew over to a distance and his fringes fell all over his face.

Tim roared at the helpless boy, "I told you not to talk!"

Yamaken kept silent, chewing on his inner cheeks for once, he looked back up at Tim. There was a red mark of Tim's hands on Yamaken's left cheek and his eyes had a glow of red as well. His handsomeness reached a level higher at this point.

He had opened his mouth to say something when he heard the cracking sound of glasses under shoes. He snapped his head back to see Tim's friend Bucky to have had stepped on Yamaken's glasses that had flown over to the ground just some time ago.

He again opened his mouth to be interfered by Tim this time, who pushed him harshly and made him slam on the wall on his back.

"Tim, if you do this here, people might show up," Yamaken said calmly, "Let's go to a quieter place." He needed a suitable place to use his skills unless he wanted the whole school to know what he's capable of.

"Whatever," Tim shrugged carelessly, "They should watch. They should know their position. Just because of you and your girl lately, everyone started to forget who I truly am and how they should act before me."

"Oh yeah?" Yamaken asked sarcastically, "Who are you again?"

A strong kick by Tim landed on his abdomen as he let out a sound of pain. He couldn't keep himself standing anymore so he fell on the ground while clutching on his stomach.

"What was her name? Cocoa? Kiri? Kao- something? Wait, was it Kaori?" Tim towered over Yamaken with a dirty grin, "Whatever her name is, I'll teach that slโ€”"

Before he could finish his sentence, Yamaken lunged on Tim with all the strength he could gather. Blinded by anger, he landed as many punches as he could on Tim.

All Yamaken remembered were several screams of different people right after he did that. Then, the things he didn't even expect had happened.

"Tim!" Bucky and Todd ran over to their friend who fell on the ground after being beaten up.

"Hey, everyone, come over here! Someone got into a fight!"

"It's a fight between Timothy Doyle and our school hunk Yamaken!"

*************************************************

Kaori stepped out of the main school building and was passing the school ground when she saw Willia running over to her.

She looked at her in concern as she waited for her to say something when she finally reached her.

After catching her breath, she exclaimed, "Kaori! Yamaken got into a fight with Tim and his gang! Hurry!"

*************************************************

In a very short ammount of time, Yamaken, Tim and his gang were surrounded by students who were still in school. Nobody tried to stop the fight, it was as if everyone was looking forward to how they were going to fight. With anticipation growing over them, Tim stood up on his own, rejecting all the helping hands of his minions.

He wiped the cut that was created by the strong punches with the back of his hand as he looked over at Yamaken with pure hatred and fury blinding him. He shook Yamaken by his collar again demanding a question that he didn't even wait to hear the reply, "Do you want to die?" He threw Yamaken on the wall behind him.

Yamaken yelled in pain again but that didn't mean he couldn't keep up with it. Little did Tim know that Yamaken had to go through the worst for his training in the clan's school.

"This was the second time you punched me. I guess you don't know me at all," He planted a few more kicks on Yamaken whie the girls who were watching gasped. Enduring all the beatings, Yamaken's body started to ache in pain that he couldn't get himself to stand up.

Tim stopped kicking and rushed over to Bucky, snatching the hockey stick away from him. He broke the head of the stick and raised it to hit Yamaken with it. "I happen to kill the person who hits me!" He shouted as he raised his hand in the air.

"Tim, that's enough, waitโ€”!" Both of his friends yelled together with the crowds of students, "Tim, don't! Stop it!"

Gulping, Yamaken shut his eyes off in fright since he couldn't gather up the strength to fight back after all the kick and punches he took in. There was no way he could use his powers here as well.

He waited for a whole moment for the endless pain of beating to come but it didn't. To find out the reason why it didn't, Yamaken slowly peeked through his eyes only to open them wide right after.

Everything was just as it were, the only thing had changed was that Kaori was here now.

The girls and boys who were watching still had different expressions on their faces. Tim's gang was standing right behind him while he took out the operation. Tim still had the hand he held the stick in, raised in the air. But the reason why it didn't land on Yamaken, was that Kaori held Tim back from it.

"What do you think you are doing, Timothy Doyle?" Kaori asked as her grip tightened around his wrist, her silently enraged eyes boring into his.

Tim scoffed at her, "Tch, you littleโ€”" The slight raise of her eyebrows made him stop from completing his sentence.

He tried to move his hand and hit Yamaken but she didn't let go.

"Let go!" Tim ordered her angrily but it didn't make any effect on her but to make her smirk and tighten the grip even more.

He tried to pull back and forth but she wouldn't let go. He couldn't even move his hand within the tight grip as time passed by.

As the two glared at each other silently and Kaori's grip around his wrist tightened more and more, his hand turned red from the blood rushing under his skin while the stick he was holding in his hand, loosened.

Willia watched Kaori's expression from afar. The worry that took over her face when she heard Yamaken had gotten into a fight, the anger in her eyes when she saw him getting beaten up โ€” it all seemed to leave one single impression in her mind.
