I didn't even realize it but somehow I'd managed to reload Officer Foxtail's service pistol, which Mia had cast aside and even stood up without even mentally thinking about it. And then just like that with a flash of light and a small puff of smoke it was over. No pain. Not even a scream. Nothing.
Well maybe the thud of a body falling to the ground but none of us dared moving. We all were too scared to move. Mya was the first to react when she started to cry as her worsts fears seemed to come true. Jill then slowly crawled over to try and comfort her. Ruby placed her paws on my shoulders to get me to relax. Ray and Officer Snow just looked at each other puzzled. Lastly there was Mia who slowly searched herself for a wound.
