Marv had asked Angelina to use her strength against Monica to see how she would react. Marv didn't think that she would react with a beam of darkness. Finn was struggling to repeatedly cast his [skycutter] skill to prevent the beam from hitting anybody.
Monica seemed to have an endless magic presence as she repeatedly cast her skill without tiring. Alyssa then shouted for Finn to move out of the way and let the beam strike because nobody was standing there anymore. Finn complied as he jumped off the ground and rose high into the air, narrowly avoiding the dark beam. Finn landed back on the ground while swinging his longsword in a wide arc to cut another dark beam with his [skycutter] skill.
{DAMN IT!}
Finn wasn't given time to recover and was bombarded with several dark beams and rocks that kept flying at him. he had destroyed a longsword so he could better control his movements with a single longsword. he had run farther left while doing flips and swinging his sword quickly to cut the dark beam.
Finn grabbed the handle of his longsword with both hands and plunged it into the ground while quickly sidestepping to narrowly miss the dark beam.
he was getting really agitated.
Finn had already filled his longsword with magic presence and pulled it out of the ground while ducking. he got back up and with a look of annoyance on his face, he crouched low before he pushed forward with all his might and disappeared from where he stood. the dark beam hit empty air as Monica wondered where Finn had disappeared to.
that was when she decided to move to her right and swung her spear around to clash with Finn's longsword that appeared from thin air.
"FUCK OFF!"
Finn was really agitated as he tried to kick Monica's helmet after missing his strike. Monica blocked Finn's kick before she grabbed his ankle and pulled him, sending him rolling on the ground. Finn recovered quickly as he tried to stand up only to sense danger from above.
he cursed as he raised his longsword to block. Finn managed to withstand the force of the blow but the ground under him couldn't as it caved. Finn felt a jagged piece of earth press against his back as he wanted to cough some blood. he just stared up to see Monica who wasn't even looking at him but was staring at Marv and Angelina in the distance.
Finn was now more determined than ever to cut the head off this person. that was when he heard a soft whistle before the spear pressing on him blurred and countered a wind blade. Monica had to step back as Angelina suddenly appeared with her arms replaced by curved blades.
Finn watched as Angelina repeatedly struck Monica from several angles while kicking from high in the air.
sparks flew everywhere as Monica kept switching ends of the spear to block and attack. she was surprised by Angelina's ambush but was still able to handle her easily. that was when Monica felt the ground under her feet shake. she quickly stepped aside as a large three-foot earth spike rose from the ground. Monica wasn't wholly interested in who did it as she held her spear with both hands to block an attack from Finn.
this whole fight lasted about ten minutes from when Monica first attacked. Marv was watching the fight while waiting for an opportunity to assist. Eve was now adding buffs to everybody as Hannah and Masha stood back for support. Alyssa was trying her best to command the basic elements to intervene at random moments. so far she had helped immensely by intervening when Monica was about to stab through Angelina's right eye.
Marv wanted to help so he asked Pale if he knew how. Pale suggested activating [death mode] while handing control over to him. Marv saw no issue and activated his [death mode]. the next second Marv felt his vision go black before he lost control over his body. Pale stepped forward and activated his [rose scythe] skill. his hair turned ash grey as his eyes became completely pitch-black.
without mentioning a word Pale disappeared from sight to go assist the other two. Pale was running now with his scythe behind his back while constantly rotating.
after a few seconds, Pale reached them and the first thing he did was swing his scythe in a wide arc while aiming for Monica's ankles. he failed to hit as Monica countered his scythe with her spear.
"wow...you almost had me there!"
Monica was praising Pale's effort as she raised her right arm to grab one of Angelina's blade arms. Pale simply lowered his scythe before he punched upwards to misdirect Monica's punch. Angeline then retreated while slicing the air several times.
half her strikes landed as Monica tried to kick Finn. sadly the blows only left white marks on the black armour of Monica. Pale was more successful as he managed to distract Monica with his incessant attacking. Pale had destroyed his scythe and was now using his fists to punch Monica as much as possible.
Monica was unfazed and every so often she would praise them on their efforts. she wasn't taking them seriously. Finn was now even more encouraged to kill her but he couldn't activate his inheritance skill. he would have to first be sure that he could handle it now that he was injured. his weakened body might crumple if he injected that much power.
Eve had finished her spells and everybody decided to help including Margaret who stood beside the tired Eve.
the fight dragged on for more than half an hour with Eve constantly healing their injuries and Margaret commanding the earth to open up under Monica's feet.

Dolos was watching this fight and was at the edge of his seat as he watched the adventurers avoid death by the skin of their teeth.

Dolos was really having fun as he threw his sixteenth empty bucket of popcorn away. he summoned another and immediately started munching while thinking to himself of how they would survive. he had become so comfortable that he hadn't noticed another person was standing behind him while being invisible. this person was chewing on some sugarcane as he thought of how to deal with the dumbass sitting before him.
that was when it hit him.
the person had a wide smile on his face as he stepped back a few metres before rushing forward and kicking the back of Dolos' head.
a soft 'pop' sound could be heard as Dolos shot down through the clouds and while doing flips in the air he crashed onto the ground raising a lot of smoke and noise. smoke rose from the crater he had made while his eyes were rolled back and his leg twitching.
{now stop sitting on your ass and do something useful for once.}
Loki was laughing to himself as he picked up the bucket of popcorn that Dolos had dropped. he was offended that Dolos hadn't called him to watch, so he kicked Dolos down to help these adventurers. Loki wanted to make sure that Dolos got the message so he inconspicuously made a square barrier that held everybody within. nobody noticed but Dolos who had recovered and was staring at the clouds. Loki decided to humour him and sent a message telepathically.

Dolos didn't wait to think it over because he knew that it was Loki and a promise like that couldn't be said without proper backing. if not then every male god out there would team against you and send you to the underworld for the next thousand years.
