damn.
this was what Alyssa thought as she watched Marv and Finn stare each other down.
she had really died but for some reason instead of disappearing from this plane, her soul for some reason couldn't move too far from Marv. she had watched everything and had been with Marv this whole time trying to communicate to him if she could but to no avail. she didn't like this situation one bit, she hadn't been sure at first but it seemed that Finn was also some type of 'player'. Alyssa wasn't sure but still watched Finn closely.
Alyssa was sitting on the ground with her knees close to her chest as she tapped the ground with her fingers. she was actually curious to see Marv's newfound power in proper action. only to hear these words.
"my...to see a child of Harprocrates here...never thought it was possible considering how many changes your lineage had to go through."
Marv talked to Finn with a calm voice that shocked Alyssa, however, Finn's next actions were even more confusing.
"yeah...we had some trouble at first but we managed to settle down."
Finn responded with happiness in his voice as he placed his hand behind his head with a stupid grin on his face. after that Marv and Finn just...talked, like as if they were old childhood friends. Alyssa wasn't too sure of what she expected but definitely not this.
she sighed subtly as she decided to just walk in a random direction.

Finn was actually a bit familiar with Marv solely because Finn had managed to sense the presence of 'Death' in Marv. he actually had met 'Death' once before...back when he was a kid and the gods of Olympus were holding a party for the newest generation of demi-gods. Death had attended with the other horsemen and had met Finn. they hit it off immediately despite the weird looks they got from the other demi-gods.
Finn was extremely excited to meet 'death' again and talked to him about random stuff. he also apologised for hurting Marv's body while offering to use his [saint's blessing] skill. after healing Marv's body, Marv's consciousness returned. he asked what had happened and Finn explained everything to him while apologising for near-...killing him.
Marv was still angry at Finn but then wondered how he was able to go activate [death mode] when half a day hadn't passed yet. the voice in his head answered that it had forcefully activated it prolonging the cooldown. in exchange for doing that it used a lot of Marv's blood to just try to make sure he didn't suffer from severe repercussions.
Marv thanked the voice in his head and turned to look Finn in the eye. Finn had destroyed the golden longsword in his hand and was looking at Marv with excitement in his eyes. Marv sighed subtly before forgiving Finn but not before he made a mental note to make sure Finn also had a sword through his chest.
not much happened after that except when Marv and Finn talked about the system.
apparently, Finn had been given access to the system from one of the...' system admins'. Marv wasn't familiar with who these people were and asked Finn if there was anything special about them. Finn decided to just tell Marv about them...
the system admins were apparently extremely powerful beings who had control over the system. as for when or what they did exactly was not known. in fact, Finn hadn't actually seen the system admin himself. he just received a system message explaining that he was chosen by a system admin. when his family heard about it they were ecstatic.
he had found out that his system was compatible with his bloodline and his powers. Marv stopped Finn from explaining the rest because he wasn't interested anymore. he then heard a voice within his head talk about something interesting...
{hmm...I've met a few of those system admins before...must say they have terrible patience when it comes to nonsense. I mean so many gods try to gain their favour but the admins never bother wasting their time with them. it's almost insulting if not for the fact that the admins are several times more powerful than the gods themselves.}

{sorry kid...all I can tell you is that I've met a few of them...and they are really interested in you for some reason...they even persuaded the system master on my behalf to let me fuse with you. anything else is confidential.}
Marv was not too pleased with this but decided to not ask anything else. he asked Finn if he could send them back. Finn agreed and started his chant to open the [void of silence]. there was nothing flashy because the flames could be turned on and off if Finn just so much as desired.
Marv looked to Alyssa's corpse and felt sadness within his heart. but he decided to just move on even if it may have sounded heartless. that was when the voice spoke again but with a hint of confusion.

{DAMN! don't yell kid...well yea you can resurrect her...her soul hasn't left this world...if anything she has been following you since she died...I guess its probably some result of being contracted partners or something.}
Marv was stunned and looked around the dark space with a wild look on his face. he was stunned yet again...not seeing Alyssa he asked the voice if it could help. the voice then asked if Marv could call it 'pale' then it would help.
Marv slightly rolled his eyes as he gave the voice the name Pale. being satisfied with his new name Pale decided to help Marv by calling Alyssa himself.
Marv was surprised when he felt his mouth opening and Pale's voice came out.
"Hey, Alyssa! if you can hear me...please come over."
Finn stopped his chanting and looked back to Marv while trying to keep his pants from falling. he wanted to ask Marv what he was saying but decided to just not get involved.
