Tamaki Kurogaki: "So, what are you up to? Sayuri-chan"
Silence arisen again. Tamaki had Akui cornered right where she wanted. Knowing Akui couldn't do anything to her and couldn't simply walk away from her. She just watched Akui with her head down closely.
Chiharu Akui: "Nothing" (She said)
Chiharu Akui: "Just trying to get a second chance"
Chiharu Akui: "To make up for the mistakes I have done to Yasuo-kun"
Akui was in a seiza position in front of Tamaki with distance between the both of them. Akui had her head down being unable to make eye contact with Tamaki.
Tamaki: "Mistakes?" (She questioned)
Chiharu Akui: "Yes, but not as Akui"
Sayuri Tokomoki: "as Sayuri" (She sobbed)
As Akui raised her head up to accept her shame and make eye contact with Tamaki. Tears began to run down her face like a never-ending waterfall. Tamaki then realised she has brought out the real Akui and the person she was expecting to face was instantly erased from her mind.
Tamaki Kurogaki: "I-"
Akui immediately bowed in front of Tamaki to try and really convince her that she hasn't inherited any type of influence from her family's reputation.
Chiharu Akui: "I truly mean no harm to you and the others"
Chiharu Akui: "I just want to make amends for what I've done" (She cried)
Chiharu Akui: "I'm sorry for lying to you"
Chiharu Akui: "Shigechi, Haruka"
Chiharu Akui: " to Yasuo, everyone"
Chiharu Akui: "But please let me at least tell him I'm sorry" (She Pleaded)
Chiharu Akui: "Then you can go ahead and turn me in"
Akui raised her head up once more, looking at Tamaki staring down at her. She felt really bad making Akui breakdown like this and wasn't able to hide her face of guilt.
Chiharu Akui: "I'll do any-"
Tamaki knelt down to Akui's current height and put her finger on Akui's forehead.
Tamaki Kurogaki: *giggles* "I can't believe you fell for that bluff" (Amused with herself)
Tamaki Kurogaki: "Even if I tried turning you in, you haven't done anything illegal"
Tamaki Kurogaki: "Well except for torturing that guy"
They both looked at Yasuo still unconsciously laying on the sofa. Before looking at making eye contact with one another again.
Tamaki Kurogaki: "Tell me, what exactly happened between you two?"
Akui raised her upper body up and looked back to Yasuo once more.
*Start of Flashback*
Year: 2009
Location: Osaka, Kamagasaki, Afternoon, Raining
It's a cold rainy afternoon in Osaka. Schools finishing for the day, People are rushing to get back home from a long day of work. The common thing to expect when living in a city. Though some people don't have a home to go to.
Within Osaka, there is a slum called Kamagasaki. When seeing this place, it dictates the prime example of foreign global poverty. This place can rarely even be found on the maps of Japan. It is known as the biggest slum in the country and where most of Japan's poor reside.
Those without jobs, would go and wait in line at the Nishinari Labour Welfare Centre Jobs. Some would even go just to take shelter and rest.
Near the entrance, most of the homeless were waiting around inside the building for the rain to stop. Couple of kids were playing around the puddles formed from the rain droplets coming down from the ceiling.
Sitting against a pillar was a boy who looked older than most of the other kids around him. He was wearing ragged clothes, his hair was scruffy, and he was covered in dirt like a mole rat. He was known as the moody one since he always never looked interested in anything.
Kid 1: "Hey Moody-san" (she cried)
The moody one looked at two kids that were standing right next to him.
Kid 2: "There are meanie adults picking on a girl under the bridge"
Immediately the boy got up and ran straight to the place where the kid described. Though he was known for not being interested in anything, he would always be there for those who truly needed it most.
The Girl: "Leave me alone!" (she cried)
At the scene of the situation. Under the bridge, two men had a little girl cornered next to a rubbish pile with nowhere to run, while another man was kicking around the body of a women presumably checking to see if she was responsive.
Yakuza 1: "Is she alive?"
Yakuza: 3: "No" (He responded)
Yakuza 2: "Great, we were supposed take them both alive"
Yakuza 1: "Shut up"
Yakuza 1: "What's done is done, now grab the-"
*thump*
Yakuza 1: "ah!" (he wailed)
A rock is thrown at one of the men right at his head directly causing him to turn and hold onto his head to ease the pain. The other men and the girl then turned to see where the rock had come from and it was the boy from the job centre.
He had many rocks stored in his pockets ready to throw at the men to try and scare them off.
Yakuza 1: "F*cking brat!" (He grunted)
Yakuza 1: "Get him!" (He demanded)
The two other Yakuza went after the boy while the other was holding onto his bruised head. During this time, the girl quickly hid inside a box that was among the rubbish pile until everything had calm down.
The boy was throwing all the rocks he had against the two men coming at him. Some hit and some missed the men. The boy's ammunition had eventually run out and before he could try make a run for it, one of the Yakuza managed to catch up to him and punched him in the face.
He fell roughly onto the ground and then began his beatdown. The two men stomped and kicked the boy on every part of his body to a pulp. Until suddenly two police officers casually patrolling the area arrived and saw the boy getting ganged up on.
Police officer 1: "Hey!" (She yelled)
The police officer blew her whistle and began running towards the Yakuzas with her partner. The Yakuzas quickly realised and started running away back to their fellow Yakuza leaving the boy on the floor badly hurt.
Yakuza 2: "Wheres the girl?" (He questioned)
Yakuza 3: "Forget her let's get out of here!"
The three men then started running away as they were being chased. One officer stayed behind to help the boy up to rest against the fence surrounding the bridge's pillars while the other officer continued his pursuit with the three men.
Police Officer 1: "Are you ok?" (she asked)
The Boy: "Obviously not he" (he muttered)
The police officer pinched the boy's cheek.
The Boy: "eep" (He wailed)
Police Officer 1: "Cheeky, aren't you?" (She pouted)
The police officer's partner came back, trying to catch his breath heavily.
Police Officer 2: "I'm getting too old for this"
Police Officer 1: "As you always say, Mahito-san" (She stated)
The Boy: "The girl" (He uttered)
Police Officer 1 & Mahito: "Hm?" (Both confused)
The Boy: "They were about kidnap a girl, but I stepped in"
The boy pointed to the rubbish pile.
The Boy: "She's hiding inside of those boxes"
The standing police officer went over to the rubbish pile and checked. He lifted up a few boxes until he finally found her. Curled up like ball scared for her life.
Mahito Araki: "hey" (He said calmly)
Mahito Araki: "Everything is okay now"
Mahito knelt down in front of the girl and put his hand out towards her. Seeing his hand in front of her she was still terrified from what had happened but slowly gave in and grabbed Mahito's hand. They both then walked back to The Boy and the other Officer.
The boy and the girl both made eye contact but quickly the boy turned his head the other way avoiding further eye contact with her. Mahito brought the girl closer and sat her down next to the boy.
Mahito then got his radio out and notified officers near by about the men on the run and the body of the women whilst his partner watched over the two kids.
30 minutes later…
Police officers, forensics were everywhere. They had the whole blocked off so no one without proper authorization could enter the crime scene. The Boy and The Girl were still sitting in the same area, but the Boy had been treated for his injuries and They were both given blankets to keep themselves warm from the cold rain.
They both just sat and watched as each person had their roles dealing with a crime scene. It was as if time had just kept moving on without them. Everyone forgetting that they were both even there when they are the main witnesses.
They then saw forensics carry the corpse of the women zipped up inside a body bag on a stretcher to their vehicle.
The Boy: "Who was she?" (He asked)
The Girl: "hm?"
The Girl looked to The Boy as he said something to her for the first time after being next to each for a while.
The Girl: "My mum" (She replied)
The Boy: "You don't seem that upset, how come?"
The Girl stopped looking at The Boy and went back to staring down at the ground.
The Girl: "My family do bad things to other people, so this was probably our punishment"
The Girl: "But this won't end. My family will just hunt those men down and do bad things to them as well"
The Girl: "Even if it costs another person's life"
The Girl: "You won't tell on me, right?" (She asked)
The Boy: "It isn't mine or anyone else's place to tell someone to stop if they don't know if they can truly change"
The Boy: "They are your family, if you want them to stop their ways then only you can do it"
The Boy: "Family aren't supposed to be the perfect people to exist. They will always have feelings"
The Boy: "and will act out on them"
*thwoosh*
Wind begun blowing heavily. Pushing the rain underneath the bridge where two were sitting. The wind got both the Girl and the Boy's blankets wet and even colder.
The Boy: "tch" (He Grunted)
The Boy looked at the Girl seeing that she was shivering. He got up took his jacket off and put it on top of her before sitting back down again putting his blanket over him again and looking at the other direction.
The Girl looked at the Boy with surprised that though he was not as talkative, he had a big heart. Approaching them was the police officer from before who was watching them. She brought herself down a bit to make eye contact with the kids.
Police Officer 1: "Hey you guys" (she said)
Police Officer 1: "What's going to happen now is you both will be taken to the station and be asked questions about what happened, is that okay?"
The Girl nodded while the boy remained quiet still looking at the other direction.
Police Officer 1: "Ah, silly me I don't think I got both of your names"
Kukiko Moriyama: "I'm Moriyama Kukiko"
The Officer pointed at The Girl
Kukiko Moriyama: "So, you're? (She questioned)"
Sayuri Tokomoki: "Tokomoki Sayuri"
The Officer and Sayuri then looked to the Boy.
Kukiko Moriyama: "And?"
Yasuo Kyoya: "Kyoya"
Yasuo Kyoya: "Kyoya Yasuo"
*End of Flashback*
Location: Yasuo's studio apartment, Evening, Hot
It was getting between the afternoon to evening. Tamaki and Akui were both sitting in the kitchen as Tamaki had listened to the history that both her and Yasuo share.
Tamaki Kurogaki: "So that's how you two met?" (She was shocked)
Chiharu Akui: "Yea" (Embarrassed)
Tamaki Kurogaki: "Woah, who would've thought this guy actually had the balls to face Yakuza and more importantly survive while saving a life"
Tamaki looked over the kitchen doorway seeing Yasuo still slump on the sofa.
Tamaki Kurogaki: "Oh, how the mighty have fallen" (She said disappointedly)
Chiharu Akui: "I'm sure he just wanted to be more polite towards people" (She whimpered)
Tamaki Kurogaki: "Ew don't defend him"
Chiharu Akui: "But it could be true!" (She pleaded)
Tamaki Kurogaki: *sigh*
Tamaki stopped looking at Yasuo and focused her attention back to Akui.
Tamaki Kurogaki: "So, you both knew each other way before working together obviously"
Tamaki Kurogaki: "But what I'm confused about is, why does act like he barely knows you? And what's the meaning behind this certificate?"
Akui leaned back a bit on her chair and had a worried look on her face. Clenching her hands into fists.
Chiharu Akui: "It was around the time when Yasuo was being mentored by Sasho-sensei into becoming a Mangaka"
Akui looked up to Tamaki.
Chiharu Akui: "The day Yasuo's words cut me from his life and the day I helped a man become what he is today"
