When humans made their dramatic entrances onto the stage of the Earth, they were soulless husks, wandering the lands. They were empty, hollow, as if they were merely clay jars and not living beings. But some were determined to create something from the nothing of their lives. The first spirits of emotion awoke, with the purpose of helping humans live their lives, creating a new, emotion-filled one in the process. The first emotions were Determination, Happiness, and Sadness. The emotions filled the hollow containers of humans, inspiring them to do great things. Many more emotions followed in the wake of Happiness, Sadness, and Determination. But none of the emotions were more critical than Determination. Whenever the great waves of fate washed over the humans, bringing with them debris unlucky or fortunate, the emotions would leave. In times when luck abounded, Sadness would drift away. When misfortune made its name known, Happiness would dash away. But in every situation, no matter who left, Determination would stay. Determination helped many souls overcome many obstacles, spurring Inspiration and Hope to fill humans. In hard times, though Happiness or Sadness may drift, though Hope may fade, remember to keep Determination close.
