Chapter 5 - The Volcano

When life first began to blossom on Earth, mighty mountains blossomed also. Rising from the Land, mountains became a host to varieties of wildlife and plants, shining as the pride of the world. When the Ocean saw the majestic works and shining examples of the Land's mountains, it was filled with jealousy. Driven by spite and loathing, the Ocean created mountains of its own. However, while the Land's mountains were created and fostered from creativity and passion, the Ocean's pale copies were driven by fear and imitation. With no plants or animals willing to inhabit them, they grew cold and lifeless, with exteriors of rock instead of lush plants. On the inside, however, while the Land's mountains were filled with steady stone, the Ocean's mountains burned with hate for themselves and what they could have been. Eventually, the hate grew to be far too much for the cold mountains to handle, and they exploded in fireworks of grace and flame, giving birth to something beautiful from their barren shapes. Today, volcanoes still dot the world, creating sprawling fireworks of beauty with every explosion of their anger.
