Chapter 6 - Chapter 5

It's monday, and students are busy for their reviews for the coming midterm exam.

Quuen is beside me—we are going to the bench. Almost all of the benches are occupied—most students that are here is studying. The air in this side of the school is fresh because it has bigger trees that's why it's ideal for reviewing.

"Oh! Kein is in our spot." Quuen said in the middle of our walk.

I turned my attention to our table. He's really there, reading his notes seriously that I think that was the notes he got from me.

A sudden memory came in kind. Tsk, I must be crazy. Thinking about crushes wasn't it? Do I have a crush on him now to react that way?

"I just notice that wherever we are, Kein is also there." She said wandering but amazed by her thoughts. I sighed and ignored her newfound theories.

"Maybe because he's our school mate and slash classmate?" I sarcastically said that she highly disagreed.

"You don't understand my point."

We reach our table but Quuen still pushing her ideas but even so, she sit in front of Castillo without getting permission first. I looked at him and he seems to not care about us. So, I decided to just sit beside my friend.

We started reviewing—it's quiet at our side. Quuen would ask me some things that only the source of little noise.

I stopped reading when I felt someone's gaze on me. Castillo is staring at me that made me sway a bit. I furrowed my brows to cover that up.

"What?" I asked him to cover my then reaction.

He looked at Quuen and then to the other benches—that I also did. The three of us is the only people here. I look at my wrist watch, it's lunch break already.

"Quuen, lunch." I nudge her to get her attention.

"Right! I'm hungry already, P but wait I have to finish this." she swiftly read the last paragraph of her notes. Before I could finish putting my notes into my bag—she is done already.

She also looked at Castillo and smiled at him like something's amusing to her.

"Wanna join?"

What she just said made me stop. I thought she was ashamed about what happened before? She's inviting him like it was nothing on her now.

"No thanks, I can manage." Castillo said while still eyeing his notes.

"You will not eat?" She pry more. I think I'm the one who's stress about my friends' personality. How could she have that guts to talk to someone who barely associate his self to others!

"I said I won't join you but I didn't say I will not going to eat." He sarcastically replied.

I pull her to my side to get away from there, she's really insensitive at times.

"Pacey! Going for lunch? Can I join?" Gilbert called me out of nowhere. He's my classmate from my other subjects. And..we are not friends nor close so why would I?

I said no and I'm about to step away from there when suddenly Castillo is on my side already. He's blocking Gilbert's view on me.

"Where to?" He asked with his signature line.

Quuen is smirking on my left, like her plan just worked. Plan my ass, she's imagining things again.

"There's no way, Sison, it's a friends' lunch date." Quuen exaggeratedly said to our schoolmate.

Friends huh! For all I know he just agreed again today because he was forced by Quuen. And maybe..he's also hungry already.

We are walking towards the best fast food just inside the campus.

"So, you already have a girlfriend?" Quuen is the only one running for the talkative of the year. I'm like the referee between the two of them, only that Castillo didn't talk.

"Is she beautiful? Is she in our batch? Hoy many? For sure you have a lot!" She's like a reporter from the way I see her prying on him.

We're already inside the fast food but he is still not responding.

"I'll be paying today, you can leave if you don't want my treat." My friend meant it for Castillo. But he didn't even care about it—instead he also lined up in the counter.

So in the end, Castillo payed his own meal and did not sit on our table—as my friend instructed.

He's really serious right? I chuckles when I realized that he's not kidding. Quuen on the other hand is annoyed by it.

"I thought we are friends, Kein? Won't you let a friend pay for you?" My friend said dramatically. But he would just not care.

My friend is really spoiled that she's used to get what she wants. But there's always a time that your wants will not be granted.

Walking to our next class, Quuen is still not over with what happened. And Catillo is on my right which didn't care much—we're classmates for this subject.

My phone vibrated when we are 10 meters away from the classroom. I got it to see what it's all about this time. It's my classmate from this now subject, saying we have no classes for the afternoon.

I sighed and put back my phone into my pocket and stop walking. Quuen notice me that she stopped talking and looked at me blankly. While Castillo continued walking.

"Where should we review?" I asked her instead.

"We have no class?" She confirmed. Castillo stopped from his track when he heard it. He tilted his head and brows furrowed while he stared at me for a minute. I sighed as he did that.

"There's no class for this afternoon. Teachers will be preparing for their test papers." I firmly said and turned my attention to my friend.

"I think the library's good. I bet it's not crowded." Quuen said that I immediately agreed.

We walked to the path where the library is—without minding of Castillo. He looked like he have something to do and not up to join us.

I just saw him walking towards the school gate. I remembered how he seriously studied back in the bench that I thought he's somewhat studious. And maybe he's not really used with people around when reviewing.

When we reach the library—not a lot of students are here. I only saw studios students. We took the latter part of the library, and sit in the corner. It is comfortable to study in places like this.

The school's library is quarter as big as our classrooms, its interior is well designed. All the books that will be needed by each grade level are here, so basically, we won't have difficulties finding some references.

The library is also air-conditioned that many students prefer to stay here, though our classrooms are already air-conditioned.

"Q, it is better if we memorize the keywords of this subtopics so we could easily remember the whole idea of it."

College exams are not up for underestimation, if in middle school we could take exams without reviewing, now, we're not in that situation anymore.

"The library will close in 10 minutes." An announcement was made through the speakers. They also installed speakers within the library for announcement purposes only since this library is big.

We got out of the library 5 minutes before it closes. 5:30 is the closing hour.

As we stepped out of the library—a man suddenly showed before us.

"What the hell, Sison!" Quuen exclaimed before I did.

He scared the hell out of us! What's with this guy?

He smiled sheepishly. He's so weird. From where I saw it, he's kinda anxious now that we are face-to-face.

"H-hi, Pacey!" He instead said inspite of being embarrassed.

I nod at him without minding if my indifference towards him is visible on my face. Quuen is still irritated by it.

I started to walk and passed him. Quuen is following me while Gilbert is standing there folly. After a while he followed us, I thought he's going to go on his own way but I was wrong. Even until we reach the parking lot, he's still following us. What is his problem?

"Why are you following us?" I said irritated. He's creeping me out! And I bet Quuen's feeling the same.

He was taken aback from my sudden outburst. He's more nervous now but still trying to put a smile.

"A-ah! I-I'm just making s-sure you'll arrive in the parking lot safely." He mumbled.

"We don't need your security, Sison. Leave us alone, you're creeping us out." I coldly said and left him dumbfounded. Quuen shakes her head disappointedly.

Gilbert finally did not follow us after that. That's good, I think he just realized his doings now.

"I can feel his affection towards you, but I don't agree with how he showed it. It's just creeping me out." She commented when we are near to our cars.

"He's just being friendly, but he overdo it that's why it's somehow creepy." She rolled her eyes at me and slid herself immediately into her service. Before it drives away, she slide down the window of her car.

"You knew that I'm good at reading people, right?" She said teasingly.

"And I'm not?" I sarcastically answered. She laughs and nodded her head.

"But you know..you can't see it since it's you." She meaningfully said.

"Just go already!" She smiled at me playfully before she signed the driver to start the car.

I slid in my service and rest my head at the back rest as the driver started to maneuver the car.
