"How was it?" Quuen asked as we exited the test room. That was the last!
I look at her face, she's okay. Not obvious that we gone through the hell.
"Fine." I answered lazily at her.
"Of course! It's you." I smirk at her, she's exaggerating again.
"No, it's just that, I understand the topics." Because it's true, being intelligent is not all there is. Studying and understanding the discussions is the must.
"Okay," she scoffed, halfly agreeing to my sentiments.
"How was it?" I asked back and I see her usual expressions after an exam.
"It wasn't really hard but it was so stressful." She sighed really deep again that anyone would think she got some serious problems..and I guess it's really a serious problem.
Our exams are either identifications or essay. Plus the fact that it was a moving exam—it's really that hassle huh!Of course, that's college.
"I can feel you." I said while smiling at her.
"Feel my ass! Pigs can fly" she said sarcastically. She stopped walking as if she remembered something.
"Anyway, We'll be having an after party tonight. I'm just letting you know, because I know you won't be comin' and you'll be alone at this point.." she glance back at the room we just exited from. A group of socialite girls came out from there.
She looked at me, confirming that she will be going with those girls. Quuen is a socialite, that's why I am not surprised if she would go to a party.
"Hi, Pacey! You are not coming with us?" Jizzy asked when they reach our side. I nodded and faced Quuen. I saw the girls disappointed look from my pheripheral vision.
"Of course you would not!" Jizzy said as if she expected it.
"You just have to drink a bottle and then we will let you leave!" Britenae, the prettiest in their group said. She have this angelic aura that I thought at first her behaviors are also like her aura but I was wrong. Looks can be deceiving, really. But there's nothing wrong with enjoying life and..we have different way of doing it.
"You can't convince her, she's hard as rock." Quuen giggled at them. She really know me, I must admit.
I just smiled at them and bid a good bye to Quuen. I never, even once, go out with them. That must be why they are dying to have me in their party. Maybe if it's school matters, I would gladly go but I could never agree to parties.
"Take it easy." I told Quuen because there was one time she was so wasted that she did not get to call her driver and luckily my cousin saw her.
"I will, I learned my lesson, P."
I left her with the group.
I'm not really used in going to a party nor in a bar. My life usually revolves around school and home. I read books and hang out with Quuen only, even my cousins would be having a hard time convincing me to come with them. Well, you can say that my life is boring, coz it is.
As I was walking, I notice that there's only few students in the hallway. They must be partying now too.
I smiled, we really have different way of making our lives worth living huh!
"Your life must be boring." That was an statement, like he's sure of it. I saw him leaning in one of the classrooms. He's so attractive even in his school uniform, so wow.
I noticed, I complimented him most of the time, but..he shouldn't know that.
I rolled my eyes at him, "Says the one who's not even any better," I continued walking and saw him walked beside me.
"What do you want?" I muttered. He just shrugged that urges me to talk.
"Your life must be boring too. Being friendly today and distant the next time." He chuckles at my remarked that made me roll my eyes.
I realized it the other day. It's not because he doesn't like to be with people but because it's just how he grew up.
"I did not know that you're that observant, Sangco." He said with sarcasm.
"Shut up, Castillo."
I'm not being observant, it's just because we see each other often for we're in the same class! So..I think it's nothing to exaggerate.
Instead of going to the parking lot, I took the way to the Bo's Coffee. My driver isn't here yet.
I ordered in the counter and so is Kein. He also sat in my table after ordering. Amusement is visible on his face, I don't know for what.
"You're weird," I took a bite from my cake after saying that.
"What kind of weird?" He rebutted and laughed. Some screw is loose I think. I don't know what happened but I realized I'm laughing along with him.
I stopped laughing when he stared at me. I sip from my coffee to ease the embarrassment I feel inside. I'm sure this is the time that I would pray to God to take me home in an instant. I think I just blushed!
"So, you don't like going to parties?" Accidentally, I met his impressive eyes. His eyes is so opposite to his character.
"I didn't know that you're so nosy." I coolly said. He chuckled, again, for the third time! I'm trying to keep my cool here and he's tryin' to break it by showing his beautiful smiles!
I don't know what's happening to me. I think, it's not me anymore. I stared at my coffee to avoid his gazed. I must be going crazy.
"You're just like me." he suddenly said. I looked at him, a little smile still visible on his face.
"Definitely not." I uttered.
He chuckled as if he found it ridiculous. "We'll see. You're not the only aspiring psychiatrist here." He meaningfully said. What did he saw in me? Sure, I can see that he will have a good future in psychiatry but if there's any that he really saw within me, then I bet it's nothing the same to his. I may be living a boring life but I'm definitely different from him.
I cleared my throat and change the subject instead, "You seemed happy today, huh!" I scoffed.
"It's because I finally found my subject for the next year's assignment." He said as he looked at me intently.
"And? Who's the unlucky man?" I roam my eyes in the coffee shop. There's a group of girls just a meter away from our table, it's from behind me.
"It's not a man, it's a she." He confirmed my hunched.
"I know, it's from those girls right?" I looked back at the group of girls, he followed my gaze and frown at me.
"How did you became one of them?" I stared at him. He just looked at me like there's nothing wrong with what he said. He glance at his wristwatch and stood upon seeing the time.
"It's late already, I think your driver is already in the parking lot." He said.
I silently stood up and exited the coffee shop mindlessly. While walking to the parking lot, I am processing what he said. I already know what he meant but I can't understand why?
My phone beep, the mayordoma in our house texted me that my driver had an urgent appointment, so basically I'll be waiting here longer.
I halted and so is Kein when he realized I stopped. "I think I'll just take a cab." I smiled at him and started to walk away and towards the school gate.
"Your driver?"
"He's got some urgent appointment and I don't want to wait any longer." I told him while still walking.
"I'll accompany you."
"No thanks, I don't want to be indebted." I rejected his offer. That's not even the best option here. After this, I think I need some consultation for myself.
A taxi is waiting for me outside. Kein jogged towards it and open the door of it. And because I'm determined to get away from him, I slid myself in the car without glancing at his beautiful face.
He bend over to level our sight.
"Take care, my subject," and just like that he then closed the door. I shook my head, what was that? The taxi maneuvers and my sight is on the side mirror. Kein is still standing where I left him. Waiting for me to disappear from his sight before leaving. Kein Castillo..what's the deal?
Now, it's getting complicated.
