Fifteen minutes ago:
Prince Gua started swimming vigorously downstream and the water was helping him gain speed. He was like a carp in water, fully determined to swim his way out.
But as the water stream slowed down, he had to swim past many floating water plants. There were lotus plants. Its roots often got tangled up on his legs. He ripped it out and still swam ahead. As he was swimming, another water plant got stuck on his face.
"That darn tree, I'll make it regret the day it was born," He shouted, spitting the water plant out of his mouth.
After swimming for a while, he still could not see any traces of that deceptive tree. Then he saw a log floating on the corner of the river. That's when realization hit him.
He had been tricked.
Trees can't swim. Even if they were magical trees that can talk, they only float. If that tree had gotten downstream, he would have seen its traces by now.
