One day while wandering through the doors, she came across one which was usually locked but was open that day. She entered the room and switched on the lights. It was his workroom, it seemed. She was greeted by a large table and a chair and numerous shelves stacked with files. She didn't know that mafia requires this kind of organized back work. 'Whoah this guy is really organized', she thought.
She knew she shouldn't be wandering here, but she just can't help it. She began running her clumsy hands through the shelves. She began reading the file names: Luca Rossi, Roberto Romano, Angelo Caruso, Giuseppe Martini, Alfonso Lorenzo...
'Wait a minute. Alfonso Lorenzo?', Melina thought. She was dumbstruck for a minute. 'Why is Leonard's dad in his files?', she thought. She knew she shouldn't open that file, but did it anyway.
"Alfonso Lorenzo, Don of Italy dominating the mafia for nearly four decades got taken down finally in accordance with the plan. Rumours still circulate about the existence of a son but no proof is still found. Any evidence that could have existed has been wiped out, aiding the existing suspicion. The search for the currently non-existent son is to continue for another five years."
"Massimo planned Don Alfonso's assassination? Oh my God', she gasped, the shock settling in, with each moment passing. She turned the next pages to find the transfer of properties and reducing Alfonso's kingdom from a major mafia legacy to a minor non-existent gang. 'He was really something. From underdog to the King of the Italian mafia...', she shuddered thinking about everything she came to know. She was shocked to know that he was just 21 when he inherited it all.
It was only then it all made sense. Leonard's father feared a situation like this and left his son as an orphan when he was born though he was in his mafia prime at that time. He should have predicted this and that was why he hid Leonard once he was born. He was 17 when Massimo took over and exactly 6 months later Leo went missing. And for 8 years Leonard had been preparing himself for taking over what was his right.

'Today the search team broke into a possible hideout to find the son of Alfonso Lorenzi, Leonardo Lorenzi, putting an end to all the rumours, proving them right. He had wiped the entire squad except one though every member of the squad was extremely proficient and trained. The one spared was to send a message, "I'm my father's son, coming for what is my right." Everything that happened indicated just one thing.
An inevitable Mafia war.
The leftover survivor described him as a 5'9" individual with brown hair and brown eyes. Tall and well built. Skilled proficiently with extreme accuracy. The face is said to completely resemble the Former Don Alfonso Lorenzi.
A further search revealed a huge exchange of weapons and ammunition. It is also said that huge hidden manpower exists which he had been gathering over years. Buying them off is not an option, since the manpower he has, had sworn their loyalty to him. Hence it is concluded that war is the only solution."
It was at that moment she realised what the war was really about. Massimo was the person Leonard was talking about the day he returned. Massimo was the person Leonard wanted to keep her safe from. She was shocked at the revelation.
Her being here was a great drawback to Leonard. She was his only weakness and he had hidden it well. She knew Massimo had no idea of her since there was no record of her in Leonard's file.
She was the one thing Massimo could possibly use against Leonard. The only chess piece that would lead to checkmate. It all meant one thing.
She needed to escape.
