Melina set out for work that she genuinely loved. After a day of hectic work, she set out for home. On the way back she noticed a dark figure near the dumpster. She knew she should not mind it since it was none of her business but she couldn't. She felt as though it was someone who needed her help. She slowly walked towards the dumpster being aware of every movement around her. To her surprise, it was a man who was stabbed in the stomach. Her doctor instincts took over.
'Hey are you all right?' she asks worriedly for the stranger's life. The stranger gently lifts up his head and looks at her as though he was surprised by something.
'You should not be here, get somewhere safe' he said with a deep low voice which she knew took him a lot of effort. 'You are wounded seriously! You need help, let me call the ambulance' she says and tried to take out her phone. He caught her hand in one sharp movement and warns, 'Don't' with a natural authority.
That was when Melina realized he wasn't any ordinary man. Though wounded his presence screamed authority and power and his hold was so strong on her which made her wince. He loosened his grip seeing her wince from the pain. She decided not to mess with him and nodded and he released his iron grip. She took out her first aid kit. The man didn't question her and silently watched her entire movements. She lifted up his blood-stained shirt and noticed multiple stabs. Her eyes teared up a bit. He noticed it all ..with his deep, dark eyes.
Melina took out a medicated towel and told him, 'I'm sorry, I don't have pain killers so this must hurt...Please hold on'. He just nodded. She wiped his wounds but there wasn't any response, not even a twitch. He had experienced things worse than that and his scars told the story. She knew that too since she noticed how deep the scars were.
After stitching up his wounds she gently covered them up. 'Do you feel better?' she asked to which he just nodded. She was about to leave when she felt raindrops on her skin. She took out her umbrella and handed it over to the stranger.
'It's about to rain, you should keep it' the mysterious stranger told her. Melina just replied, 'You need it more, stay safe' and gently smiled.
'You had no reason to do this, yet you did. Why?' he asked looking deep into her eyes. 'I'm a doctor it's what I do' she smiled at him.
He chuckled and tried to give her his ring which looked quite expensive. She stopped him and said, ' I don't want this. The next time when you see someone helpless, help them with whatever you can. That's enough'
He just stared at her and for a moment she thought she saw the corner of his lips rise. Since it was about to rain she just nodded and left for her home. Those dark eyes stared at her until she disappeared out of sight.
