Chapter 6 - Him, again.

' A mafia war is about to take place between the two major gangs of Italy. I'll come back for you after the war Melina. Will you wait for me?', Leonard asked Melina with anticipation to which Melina replied, 'Yes, yes I will '.

Leonard kissed Melina on the forehead and after a long moment of embrace, he left her.

Melina couldn't believe what had just happened. Leonard came back to her? Maybe, years and years of longing and prayers, hours spent drenched in tears made destiny itself pave way for both of them. All was for the better. That was what Melina thought before she drifted off to sleep filled with sweet memories of how her lips were claimed by his majestic ones.

The next day she woke up and went to work. Weird or so, she felt being watched by someone. She decided to shrug it off, but as the day passed the feeling only became stronger. Her instincts were kicking so hard that someone was watching her. In the middle of work, she used to turn back and look at the window but to no avail. By the end of the day when she reached home, she still felt that odd feeling that she was followed.

'I should stop watching too many crime thriller movies', she says to herself, and of course, going home, watching another crime thriller was the first thing she did. Typical Melina. Making resolutions with absolute will power one day and forgetting it by the end of the day.

Days passed and that feeling didn't go away. Meanwhile, she was waiting with all her heart for Leonard to comeback. Good things take time which makes it worth the wait.

Months passed until one day, she received a familiar patient in her clinic, which made sense of her weird feeling that she was being watched.

Just like any other day Melina set out for work in her clinic unaware of what and who was waiting for her. She went in and began treating her patients. After a few hours, she went into the storage to pick up a few apparatus required. When she came back in she was completely shocked to see who was sitting on the patient chair.

HIM. The stranger whose stab wounds she had treated a few months back was sitting there as if he owned the place, staring at her intently.

Melina was flabbergasted and didn't know how to react. If there's one thing she knew about him, it was that his very presence screamed danger. Melina was dumbstruck and looked at him with a hint of fear in her doe-like eyes.

'We meet again. I'm Massimo Milano' , he said and extended his hand. Now in the clear light, Melina could see him clearly. Pitch black hair with cold, dark brown eyes which held secrets she'll never know. Chiseled jawline with thin lips that held arrogance. He was dangerous and she didn't need to know him to know that.

Melina hesitated but decided to be professional and shook her fragile hands with his strong, large ones. 'Hello. What's the reason for your visit?', she asked him very formally. 'I wanted to check my stab wound and make sure it's alright', he said with a smirk.

'Please take your seat', she said and went towards him. She gently lifted his shirt and inspected her stitches feeling his intense eyes on her. 'You have healed well. There isn't any problem. Make sure you have a good diet and that's it', she said and hurried towards the table eager to get away from him. Suddenly she heard his voice, 'Would you go out with me?'

She froze. She didn't expect this. Not from HIM.

She turned around and saw him staring deep into her soul through his dark chocolate brown eyes. For a moment she lost herself in those depths. When she realized what was happening, she quickly regained herself.

'I'm sorry...I can't', she said and hurried towards the door only to find herself caught by him. He held her wrists preventing her from going anywhere. He came towards her. As he came closer, she went back and finally hit the table.

He came even closer, his face only inches from her. Melina was terrified and her eyes began to tear up fearing what he could do. 'Why wouldn't you go out with me?', he asked Melina in a dangerously low tone which sent Melina a shiver down her spine. Melina was beyond terrified. She stayed silent. She was looking down the entire time, praying he would leave her alone.

'Look at me Melina', he said but she refused to look up fearing what emotions his eyes would hold. The next thing she felt was his other hand grabbing her chin and forcing her face up which made her whimper since he was so rough. She still didn't meet his eyes.

'I don't like to repeat myself. Now look at me! ', he roared and Melina looked at his stone-cold eyes with fear while his were emotionless staring deep into her. 'Please let me go. I don't mean any harm. Please..', Melina said and began to cry.

He sighed and wiped her tears with his calloused hands. He held her face in them and this time his touch was gentle and his eyes were kinder. He then asked, 'Princess why wouldn't you go out with me?'.

Melina knew he wouldn't like her answer but she also knew he wouldn't leave her alone without an answer. 'I...I have a boyfriend', she said stuttering.

Within an instant, his calm demeanor changed. He was angry beyond anything. Melina was scared so badly that she began shaking. He flipped the table to the other side while Melina watched him with her eyes going wide with fear.

She screamed and tried to run away but he caught her and pulled her against his rock hard chest caging her. She tried to escape and punched him hard but it made no difference. He only held her closer and tighter.

'Please...please let me go', she sobbed against his chest. He came closer and whispered near her ear, 'Princess, you are mine', and giving a small kiss on her forehead, he released her. He then left the place while his words left Melina shaken to her core.
