Chapter 30 - Movement

The answer was not long at all, he was faster than anyone of the constructs, but the five of them attacking him at once, under my control, he never had a chance. The fight was quickly over. Life has gone from Prot.

The cheers that resounded from my team around me were quite impressive; they felt great joy at surpassing what they saw as insurmountable odds. Bin Ji was still looking at me weirdly, obviously waiting for the answers behind everything that happened over the past few hours. She would be disappointed, however, as I had no plans to explain anything that happened today beyond I was the disciple of a grand elder.

Now was the time to prepare for the next attack. The members from the Demonic Hair sect that went to the tower, they would soon be checking out the spiritual fluctuations from the town and would be coming at us in force.

So our next step was to either get the constructs to the tower or get the force to come to us.

I hadn't lost the connection I had to the construct in the tower, so they hadn't gone too far into the tower yet. They were planning what the best course of action would be taking on the rogue construct. So that gave us a bit of time to prepare for the eventual conflict.

Looking through the arrays, I checked how Yurt and the others were doing in the fight against the cultivators. The stone golem was looking a little worse for wear, but it was still going strong fighting off against a much smaller force than earlier. It had gone through the rest of the cultivators with excellent efficiency.

"Bin Ji, get in contact with Yurt, tell him it's our victory and to come down here with the others as fast as he can."

She broke the talisman in her hand, allowing her to communicate with Yurt. After a few seconds, she nodded at me. It had been done. Soon the whole team would be back together, and we can make a concrete plan from that.

It wasn't long before Yurt, and the team joined us in the control room. We now had a total of six Core Formation constructs under our control. So the team was finally feeling a bit calmer about our chances in the upcoming confrontation.

"Right now that we can, we should contact the head sect and get them to send reinforcements. That way, we still gain huge merits but also the safety of the Head sect."

That swayed most of the team. The squad had been gung ho to get some merits and rewards for themselves, but after seeing the actual forces that were against us now, they were getting cold feet to push their luck any further.

Even Yurt was happy to get the big guys involved now. This job had guaranteed his path to the golden core stage. He had no reason to take any further risks when such an illustrious position was available right in front of his eyes.

So I had no backing to continue our more risk-prone tactics. The rest of the team overruled any opposition I was posing, which was only half-heartedly. Indeed the sect coming now would be a boon, as it would force the Demon Hair sect members to retreat to the town where we would be able to deal with them.

So the call went out—our emergency distress signal. The response was immediate. Bin Ji had outlined our issues and our victories in the message sent with the distress signal, so the Headquarters were happy to send a strong force to destroy the enemies that had taken hold of their watchtower.

It was also around that time that I felt the tether between me and the construct in the tower be dissolved. The construct had been taken down. A shame I couldn't gather the energy that it would have condensed into when I beat it. A tower core had fed it for the past few months. It would have been enough power to get me through a few stages of core formation when I advanced.

That was a real shame, but with the response from the main camp, I would be able to let loose my vengeance very soon.

I began to march the army out of the base. It was a quick journey up. We had to set up a simple teleporter, but for basic constructs that were very easy to transport. So the whole process was swift. Soon there was an army arrayed within the town limits. We had evacuated all the mortals by that point as well. Letting mortals die needlessly was against the sensibilities of the Towering Mountain Sect disciples, so they had been moved to a safe location outside the town, which we quickly built up.

So now it was only us and the remnants of the rogue demonic hair members to keep us company. I had no eyes on the tower, but the spiritual vibrations coming from that area were told to a battle taking place.

"Is everybody ready?"

Bin Ji ever the leader was keeping an eye on everyone before the festivities. Making sure each of us was at our peak of health. Despite the fact, none of us would be directly engaging in combat if we could help it. Everyone had been given a small battle station where they were in charge of several constructs. Ensuring they acted intelligently and efficiently in the battle.

A battle that was fast approaching.

The fighting kept getting closer as the cultivators from the Demonic Hair sect were continually being put on the back foot by the righteous cultivators. The team around grew tenser, their fist's clenched tight. Their palms sweating, I could smell the fear wafting off of them. They had never gone up against a force of this size.

With a massive supernova in the sky, the battle finally arrived.
