Chapter 3 - Chapter Three

Felicity's POV

Today has flown by. At first, I was skeptical about having every class period with Andrew. Now don't get me wrong, I like the guy. I just don't understand how I can already feel so much for him. I have never had these feelings about anyone before. Yes, I love Ace and Aiden, but even I don't feel this much towards them. Of course, I don't love Andrew, I just meet him. But there is something there. Throughout all of our classes we have joked around and talked. I really like spending time with him. Which is weird for me because I generally don't like people, especially new, good-looking people.

"Hey, Felicity, I have two questions," speak of the devil.

"Ask away," I say.

"Okay, first question. May you show me where my locker is?" He asks.

"I'm a terrible person. We have every class together and I have seen you carrying every book you got today and didn't even think to ask you about your locker. I'm such an idiot." I ramble.

"It's fine. I promise. I'm strong," he states while sticking his chest out a little.

That made me look at his chest, which made me blush. I needed a distraction.

"And your second question?" I ask.

"May I drive you home?" He asks me.

To say I was taken back was an understatement. I was completely flabbergasted. But what confused me the most was how bad I wanted to say yes. The only thing holding me back was that I normally walked home and then hung out with Ace and Aiden.

"I really want to, for real. But I normally walk home and then hang out with Ace and Aiden." I say apologetically. I really wanted to hang out with him though. Plus, I needed to know if he was a part of the supernatural world that my friends lived in. So, with that thought in my head, "would you like to join us?" I asked.

"I would really like that," he says.

With that he hands me his paper with locker number on it. As I read it, my eyes grew wide. I cannot tell you how much I have been rendered speechless today. The only thing I could do was laugh.

"What's so funny?" Andrew asks.

"Your locker is in beside mine. Ace and Aiden are on my right and you are on my left," I say still

a little baffled.

I start walking down the hall and as I'm walking a word pops in my head, fate. Fate brought this gorgeous specimen to this school. Fate put him in every class that I am in. Fate put his locker beside mine. I think the universe is speaking to us.

We made it to our lockers and head out of the school. As Ace, Aiden, Andrew, and I start walking out of the school, I remember Andrew asked to drive me home which means he has a car. Why would he walk with us if he drove?

"Andrew?" I turn and say.

He turns his head to look at me with his eyebrows raised, as if to say "what?".

"You offered to drive me home, which means you have a car. Why are you walking with us?" I ask.

"You said I can hang out with y'all and that y'all walk home so here I am," he says.

"But, what about your car?"

"Whenever I leave, and I can walk back and get it. It's no big deal."

"Or you could drive us to my house?" Ace suggests.

"I could, if I had enough room. You see I drive a red 1969 Corvette Convertible," Andrew shrugs.

"NO WAY!!!" Ace and Aiden scream, literally.

"What kind of car is that?" I ask. I know absolutely nothing about cars. I will willingly admit that I am nerd in all subjects, except cars. But cars are the one thing I have no intellectual knowledge about.

"It is a very nice car," Andrew says, smiling.

"That is putting it mildly," Ace says.

"Are you sure its safe in the parking lot?" I ask.

He digs into his pocket and pulls out his keys.

"Here. Just don't break it," Andrew says while handing the keys to Ace and Aiden.

Their jaws hit the ground and then grabbed the keys and took off running towards the parking lot. I looked at Andrew incredulously.

"You're really going to let them goofballs drive your very expensive car? What if the wreck it? Or mess it up? Or I don't know take off with it?" I ask.

"It's fine. It's just a car. It can be replaced. And I want to spend time with you," Andrew says.

Be still my beating heart, I think. Holy cow, this gorgeous guy wants to spend time with me. I cannot even think straight. Again, speechless.

"So....," he says.

"So....," I say.

"I need to talk to you about something." He says cryptically.

"Okay. Not the best way to start a conversation," I say.

"I know you know about Ace and Aiden's secret, and I wanted to let you know that I also have a supernatural secret. I am a werewolf," he says.

"I knew it," I whisper.

"There's more," he states.

I look up and see Ace's house. Andrew's car is in the driveway, that means Ace and Aiden are inside.

"Would you like to go inside or there is a hammock in the backyard?" I ask.

"Hammock. I would like to finish our conversation before I have to share to your attention with them," he states.

I start walking to the backyard. We go through the gate and sit on the hammock. I look at him and raise my eyebrows.

"Like I said there is more. Do you know what mates are?" He asks.

I racked my brain for any information I had on mates.

"Ace said that when two werewolves are mates, they are destined to be together by the Moon Goddess. Something equivalent to soulmates for humans," I say.

"Yes, but werewolves can have human mates as well," he says cautiously.

"Really? Why didn't Ace say anything about that?" I ask.

"I think that might be a question for another time. But I have more that I need to share with you now,"

"Okay, what is it?"

"You're my mate."

"Mates? As is in mates mates? Like we are going to be together forever? But we just met today. I'm human. How is it a life mating process if I age much quicker than you? What about,"

I start asking questions one after the other before Andrew interrupts me.

"Felicity, deep breath. I cannot answer all of your questions if you do not give me time to," Andrew says irritatingly calm. "First, yes as in mates mates. Yes, together forever or at least until death do us part. Yes, you will age much quicker than me, but there is another option, but it is completely up to you because, for one, I will never pressure you into anything, and for two, it is like you said we did just meet today. I grew up knowing that I would only have one true love and yes, Ace has described some of it to you, that doesn't mean you fully understand it," he explains further.

I just sit there thinking. I don't know what to think. I mean we just met. Yes, I do feel something deep for him, but to know that I want to spend the rest of my life with him within a few hours? That is crazy. Yes, I'm a hopeless romantic, but even I'm not that insane.

"What does it mean? I want all the facts I can get. I don't like only knowing parts of the facts. I need to know all of them to analyze it," I say.

"Felicity, I will tell you what you want to know. You can ask me anything, and I will answer it to the best of my ability. Even though I have only spent a day with you, I already know that you are about to bombard me with a whole bunch of questions," he says. "Which you have every right to, but I ask of you one thing."

I look at him to go on. I really needed answers and fast.

"Please keep an open mind. I know you are new to this so I will try to help you understand, but you have to remember that I have been waiting for this day since I was born. Even though you have not accepted me, I am so glad that you are my mate."

I am rendered speechless once again. He is right I do need answers, but this is an exciting day for him.

"I promise to keep an open mind. Now, first question, you said there was a way for us to be together forever, or death do us part or whatever. What is that way?"

"Just jump right on into the hard stuff, why don't you? Okay, so when a werewolf and a human are mates, especially true mates, the human mate can choose to be turned. The way that happens is by having the Alpha's, of the pack that the werewolf mate is in, permission. The human would shift at the first full moon after the bite has taken place."

"Does it hurt?"

"The bite or the shift?"

"Both."

"The bite would only hurt for a few seconds, if done by their mate. If someone was randomly bitten for no reason, which isn't allowed, then it would be very painful. The first shift hurts, a lot. The second one hurts a little. The third is just a little uncomfortable, and by the fourth it doesn't hurt anymore."

"I know that you can shift whenever you want because of Ace, but why does the first full moon at your turning point make you shift?"

"My best guess is because the Moon Goddess is the one who made us. I don't know the scientific facts, I'm sorry."

I mulled over that for a moment. The bite and shift didn't seem so bad, but I wouldn't do it anytime soon.

"If I went along with this, would I have to be turned?" I ask.

His face deflated at my question, but he answered me none the less.

"No. You can reject me. And, if by chance, you did accept me, then I already told you. The choice is all yours. I would never force you to do anything," he says dejectedly.

"What do you mean I could reject you?"

"You would have to say my whole name and then say, "I reject you". You can reject me at any given time before the mating process, but once the mating process is over you are stuck with me."

"Can you reject me?" I ask. I am really afraid for his answer.

"Yes, but I wouldn't even in a thousand years," he answers immediately.

"Why?"

"Because like I said, I have been waiting for you for a long time. And, no matter how many nights I stayed up picturing who my mate might be, nothing I could ever dream to conjure up, can compare to you. I like you a lot, I'm not going to lie. But I know you need time to process. So, I will wait for you as long as it takes."

I thought about what he said. He answered a lot of my questions. I like him a lot, too. I knew I wasn't ready for the whole mating process nor was I ready to turn. I did, indeed, need time.

We laid there on the hammock for about an hour. I was tucked into his side with my head on his chest and his arm wrapped around my shoulders. Due to the fact that I have never had a boyfriend before, I have never cuddled with someone before so I may not have much merit but cuddling with Andrew on the hammock is probably the best feeling in the world. All day he has made smile and laugh. He was considerate and charming. He even let my idiot best friends drive his car just so he could walk with me.

"Andrew?" I ask.

"Hhmm?"

"I know I'm not ready for the full mating process, as you called it earlier, but I'm not going to reject you either. I think it will help me if we maybe, hung out and stuff first."

"You're not going to reject me?" He asks with so much hope that I knew I made the right decision not to reject him. Who am I kidding? I don't think I could even if I wanted to, which I don't.

"No, I'm not." I say with finality.

"Will you go out with me? Be my girlfriend?" He asks.

"Yes, and yes." I agree happily. "I think we better get inside. There is no telling what those two dipsticks got in to."

He stands up and reaches down to grab my hand. He pulls me up, and when we start to head to the house, he doesn't let go of my hand. The feel of my hand in his is my new favorite thing in the world. I'm pretty sure it beats Birthday Flavored Oreos dunked in milk.....no never mind nothing beats that. But it sure does come close.

We played video games for about two hours, and then we decided to watch a movie. The boys said I got to decide, so I went to Ace's movie case and started to look. I know what you are thinking, 'you have been friends since you were five, you should know by now what movies he does and doesn't have.' But with Andrew being here I had to choose the best movie. I didn't want him to think I didn't know anything about movies, but I also wanted them to suffer. You know, just a little.

I scanned all the shelves, and then the perfect one caught my eye. I picked it up and put in the Blu-Ray player and told the boys to go get drinks and snacks while I got the movie started. I didn't want them to know what movie I choose until it came on.

I skipped through the previews and hit start to the movie. Once I got it by the title, I paused the movie. The boys came in carrying popcorn, candy, and my personal favorite, mint chocolate chip ice cream.

"Are you guys ready?" I asked the very nervous looking teenage boys.
