Chapter 4 - Chapter Four

Andrew's POV

To say I was nervous and excited was an understatement, but also the truth. I feel like this right now because Felicity is sitting right beside me on the love seat. And get this, we are SHARING a blanket. I am exploding with emotion, on the inside of course I don't want to freak her out, because she is my mate and I love having her this close to me. My inner wolf is howling with happiness. I am nervous because I really do not want to mess this up. I really want to put my arm around her, but I don't know how she would feel about it. I also do NOT want to do something cliché like the "movie move."

Just then Felicity laid her head on my shoulder. I looked at her to see that all of her focus was trained onto the movie. It was almost as if she did it without knowing she did it. I wasn't going to say anything though. I liked it. Throughout the whole movie, I watched her watch the movie. Wow, I am such a stalker. But I couldn't help it. Every time something would happen, she would have the cutest reactions.

Towards the end of the movie Felicity fell asleep. When I saw her head start to droop, I turned our bodies so that her head rested on my chest and my arm was around her body. I looked at the time on my phone it read 9:15 P.M. I don't have a curfew, but I wonder if Felicity does.

"Does she have to be home at a certain time?" I whispered to her two best friends.

"No. She normally stays 'til about 10 or 11. It really depends on what we are doing," Ace says just as quiet.

"Don't her parents wonder where she is?" I ask.

"Well, her dad works a lot since the accident. When she is ready to tell you about the accident you will understand about her mom," Aiden responds this time.

"And, she doesn't like being alone in the house," Ace adds.

I thought about for a second. I know the accident hurt her because I felt a fraction of what she went through in class today. I also knew the accident had something to do with her mom. I was very interested to find out, but I wouldn't pressure her into telling me. She can tell me when she is ready.

I checked my phone and saw that I had a few missed calls from my father. Normally, he doesn't call me so to have more than one, it must be important.

"I have a few missed calls from my father, and he normally doesn't call me. Do y'all mind if I call him back?" I ask Ace and Aiden.

"Nah, man. Go ahead. If you need to leave the room, I'll sit there and hold her," Ace says.

"No, I got her. I was just gonna call from here," I say.

I dial my father's number and hit call.

"Andrew, where are you? Are you okay? Why haven't you answered my calls?" My father almost shouts into the phone.

"Dad, calm down. I'm fine. I met my mate today. I wanted to talk and hang out with her more, so I went with her to her best friend's house, which happens to be Ace Thornby. He is in our pack," I whisper.

"Why are you whispering? Why didn't you call and tell me you were going somewhere after school? And, you met your mate? Wow, the Moon Goddess must love you to meet her on your first day here," My dad says. He was still pretty loud at the beginning but seemed to calm down a little towards the end.

"I am whispering because my mate is asleep. Not only am I lucky to find her on the first day, but dad she is truly amazing. She is perfect. Oh, and I didn't call because I didn't really think about it. Ever since I caught her scent this morning the only thing on my mind is her. Which reminds me, I need to ask you a few questions when I get home."

"Anything bad?"

"No. It is just about something that confused me, is all."

"Well, I can't wait to meet her."

"About that. She is human. I have to ease her into everything. I will go only on her terms. I will not force her to do something that she isn't ready for or doesn't want to."

"Okay, son. I wouldn't ask you to make her uncomfortable. So, with her being human, does she know about you and what y'all two are?"

"Yes, and yes. She isn't ready for all of it, but she did agree to be my girlfriend."

"That is a good start then. Well, I'll see you when you get home, son. Drive careful. I love you."

"I will. I love you, too." I hit end on the phone call.

"Bro, you have it bad. You should have seen your face when you talked about Felicity. You had this dreamy look in your eyes. Your face had kind of a blush, too," Ace mocked, while laughing.

"Shut up. I can't wait 'til you meet your mate. Then you'll understand. I don't even know how to describe it, but I wouldn't change it for the world. It is the best feeling in the world," I state, confidently.

I stare down at Felicity. She is so beautiful. I know I sound like a broken record, but she really is perfect. I do not know how I got so lucky. From the first time I smelt her scent this morning up until now with her curled up on my chest, I can confidently say that she has, and will always, occupy my mind. I know this because well, we are mates. But bigger than that, everything I do in life will be because of her. I want to make her happy and take away her pain. I want to see her dance like no one is watching and hear her sing like no one is listening. I would do anything to put that gorgeous smile on her face. I want to be her everything just like she is mine.

At about 10:30ish, I woke up Felicity to see when she needed to go home. She grabbed her phone and said now is fine. So, here we stand outside her house, which by the way is like four houses down from Ace's. She is looking at her house and I am looking at her. And before you say it, yes, stalkerish, I know. But she looked as if she didn't want to go in.

"Felicity, are you okay?" I finally ask.

"Huh....what?" She asks in a daze.

"I asked if you were okay. You have been staring at your house for about five minutes now. What's wrong?" I respond.

"I'm fine," she says. But I give her a look that says, 'I am not buying it.' And to that she says,

"my dad's car isn't in the driveway. That means he isn't home yet. I don't like being here by myself. I think I'm going to go back to Ace's," she says as she turns to head back the way we came.

"If you want, I can stay until your dad gets home."

"He might freak out if I am home alone with my boyfriend," she says, biting her lip.

"If you want, I can jump out a window when he comes through the door. That way he doesn't see me."

"So, you don't want to meet my dad?"

"Of course, I do. But only when you want me to. I told you, I will go as slow as you need me to. I know it's only been a day, but I don't want to lose you."

"Okay. Let's go inside."

We walk to the door and she pulls out a set of keys. Once we have made it inside, she gives me a tour.

"This is the living room." We went through an opening. "The dining room/kitchen and another door to the porch. Down this hallway, there is bathroom to the right, and my dad's office is across the hall from that. Upstairs is my room and my dad's down the hall from mine. There is another bathroom separating our rooms," she explains while leading me to her room.

Her room was full of personality. She had a bookcase filled with books from all genres. A flat screen tv with an Xbox plugged into it. In the tv stand was her movies and games. There was a desk against the wall with a desktop MAC computer with a MAC laptop sitting on the bed. She had pictures all over room hung up by lights. She also had quotes on sticky noted attached to her desk calendar that was pinned to a board. Her overall theme though was definitely Paris. Eiffel Towers were everywhere.

"Have you ever been to Paris?" I asked.

"No, but I have always wanted to go. Actually, I want to travel all over the world," she replies.

"Same. It has always been a dream of mine to explore the world," I say.

"I know that feeling. I wanted to know everything growing up. I wanted to be able to speak every language just so that I could talk to everyone when I did. I wanted to understand all the cultures and backgrounds. I wanted to try exotic food and go on adventures," she says with a little wonder in her eyes. She looked as if she was dreaming but also experiencing a nightmare at the same time.

"What made you stop?"

"I wouldn't say I stopped. I just became realistic. I still dream about seeing the world, but that is all it will be: a dream. Anyways, books take me places. That will suffice. I mean I get to go to all four corners of the Earth without ever leaving my comfort zone."

I just kind of looked at her in wonder. She looked lost but was trying to hide it. I really want to know why she gave up hope on this. But there is one thing I know for sure. I WILL take her to see the entire world. She names it, we go. I will do anything that heart of her desires.

As soon as I went to ask her another question, I heard a car pull up. Then a door shut and a few seconds later the front door opening.

"Felicity! Are you here?" Her dad yells.

"Yeah, I'm in my room." She then turns to me, "You have to leave."

"Okay, I'll see you tomorrow at school. Or do you want me to pick you up?"

"I normally walk with Ace and Aiden." She states.

"Okay. Then see you tomorrow." I pull open the window. I turn to her and kiss her cheek,

"goodnight, Beautiful," with that I jumped out the window.

I walked back to Ace's house and knocked on the door.

"Hey, Andrew, what are you doing back here so late?" He asks.

"I was wondering if you minded if I park my car here in the morning and leave it here while we are at school?" I ask.

"Why would you want to do that?" He asks.

"So, I can walk with Felicity back and forth to school," I say, and mentally add a duh.

"Sure." With that he closes the door. Then he opens it again and says, "you got it bad!!" And slams the door.

I just shake my head and get in my car to drive home. I haven't stopped smiling all day, like my face kind of hurts. I park in the garage and walk into my dad's office. It was time to get some answers on this mate bond. I need to understand why our bond is so much stronger than others who have been together for years. Being the son of an alpha, I can feel all of the bonds that link a werewolf to a pack, so I know that what I feel for Felicity is different. I need to why and how. Plus, I really wanted to brag to my dad about my perfect mate.

Today could not have turned out any better if it tried. I woke up feeling out of place and later I'll go to bed knowing I'm exactly where I'm meant to be.
