-1-Star beast POV 5 mins before end of last chapter-
Man, just another regular day of using those crappy no-stars as toilet paper. When will life get interesting? It's just the same-old, same-old.
Wait ... what's that!?!
I can't sense the auras of my soldiers anymore. They're getting killed?
Ha, so a strong human has finally arrived on this island. Hopefully they're enough to satiate my hunger. Well, let's wait.
-Back to third person-
Katarina had been exchanging blows for around 10 minutes against the Lycan-Taurus or whatever it was and now she was thoroughly exhausted.
*Pant**Pant*
'Why isn't this massive piece of shit going down!??!??' Katarina was both annoyed and tired at the moment and she couldn't hold on for much longer.
"System, maybe some help here? Aren't all missions supposed to be doable? This isn't my definition of do-"
*Crack!!*
Katarina narrowly avoided a swipe of the beast's claws and used the time to spring onto the Lycan's arm. Sprinting up the massive beast Katarina jumped and landed on top of the Lycan's head. Drawing all the power from her body and putting it into her fist, Katarina aimed at the beast's eye and let out a devastating punch that could easily pulverise iron.
*Boom!!!!*
[-900 HP! Critical strike!]
[1600/2500 remaining!]
[Dealing more than 500 damage in one blow]
[Beast had entered rage state. All attributes up by 20 percent.]
Katarina cursed as she heard the notifications. Se could barely fight the beast while it was normal and now it had rage status.
Turning around she quickly started running. This wasn't a time to kill the damn piece of shit. Katarina started sprinting in the direction of the forest but she felt something hit her head and she passed out.
-Time-skip a few minutes-
Just like before she arrived in this world Katarina woke up in the circular black room again. However, this time she wasn't alone. Katarina looked up and saw a little boy that she immediately recognised.
"T-Tet?!!!?"
Katarina wasn't joking, the little boy looked exactly like Tet from the anime 'No Game No Life', complete with the beret, the red hoodie and his signature multi-colour eyes.
"Tet, is that how you see me?" the boy asked with a flicker of a smile on his face.
"Who are you, and why do you look like Tet?" Katarina asked.
"I am your benefactor, your sponsor and your customer," said the little boy sitting down in a carefree position.
As the boy said the word 'customer' Katarina immediately realised who he was.
"You, you're a supreme being aren't you? Do I have to kneel or anything?"
After hearing her question the Supreme being seemed amused.
"No, no you don't need to do anything like that, I prefer casual. As to why I look like Tet, that is how you perceive me. Anyone who sees me, sees anything with a human appearance that they think is the cutest, I am the great god of Cute things, Jayden!"
*clap*clap*
"Nice speech." Katarina commented. "Anyway, why are you here and am I dead?"
Jayden got up and stretched. "I am the sentient spirit currently residing in the System so of course I would be here. As for your second question, no, you are not dead."
"You said your a supreme being, right? Then why are you residing in the System?"
As soon as she asked that question Jayden seemed to sit down sulking. He mumbled something.
"What was that?" Katarina asked.
"I...lost at...rock paper scissors."
Katarina started to laugh.
"Anyway back to business, due to my calculations not accounting for your sheer unluckiness you were given a mission not quite in your grasp. Therefore, time has been adjusted a bit and you will be sent back to the time when you were appraising the 1-star beast."
"Hold on, what do you mean unluckiness? And if your going to send me back won't I just lose again?"
"You were supposed to kill 40 no-star beasts, right? In that period you should have obtained around 40 stat points. Instead you barely obtained 20, leading you to near-certain death against the 1-star. That was the meaning of unluckiness. And you probably won't lose, since you have an understanding of its attack patterns now. However, just in case, we left a present for you in your inventory. Well, goodbye now, don't die!"
Just as Katarina was about to reply she got sucked back into the vortex that led to the other Katarina's body.
After a few minutes of torture Katarina woke up again.
****************************

****************************
After staring at the appraisal window in front of her, Katarina remembered what Jayden had said, a 'present'.
"Inventory"
A grid appeared in front of her
Unnamed Sword x1
Summoning it into her hand, Katarina nearly fell. It was so heavy! At least 40 kilos! It looked like a black katana with shining blue lines going through the decorated hilt and black blade.
"Appraisal."
Name: Unnamed Sword
Rating: Legendary Mythic
Durability: ∞/∞
Understanding: 3 percent
Note: Growth-Type weapon forged from the mythical metal Black Orichalcum by novice blacksmith.
Extra Note: Cannot be found anywhere on this World.
"System, why is it, wait why do you talk in that mechanical voice while calling me host when you're a supreme being?"
[*For fun.*]
"Stop talking like that. Also can I call you Tet or maybe Jayden?"
[*Call me Tet. Also I'll speak like myself.*]
"Much better, anyway why does this Sword have a mythic-legendary rating when it was forged by a novice?"
[*It was forged by a novice in the Supreme Realm. Before you ask, yes the Supreme Realm is the abode of the Supreme Beings. True swords forged in the Supreme Realm can't be compared to the trashy swords in this World so I asked a novice to make you a crappy sword and this is it.*]
"Crappy...Mythic legendary is crappy, is the whole world crashing around me or what."
[*Stop overreacting and go kill that weakling.*]
Katarina shook her head to clear any stray thoughts and jumped off the tree. From the weight of the sword a lot of smoke and dust surrounded her vision from the landing site.
'Time to test this katana.'
It might have been over 40 kilos but to Katarina with her doubled weighted stats it felt like holding a heavy metal pipe.
She swung the sword sideways and the smoke cleared. However as she looked to her left she noticed that she had cut the two trees next to her by accident.
"This...this is...too OP."
Katarina started sprinting to the 1-star who had noticed her by now. The Lycan-Taurus had started stomping towards her and something started appearing in its mouth. From her view it looked like a growing, pulsing ball of red light.
"You're joking...breath attack?!?"
In a split second, Katarina contacted Tet for help.
'Tet, can this black katana cut that breath attack?'
[*Yes, but you have to channel your mana through it, which you can't, soooo...run!!!*]
Cursing at the fact, Katarina started sprinting towards the Lycan-Taurus as she had just gotten an idea. She used her momentum and quickly jumped forward right onto the knee of the Lycan-Taurus. It turned its head down and saw Katarina but the breath-attack was almost finished.
Seeing that the pulsing red ball was about to release Katarina initiated her plan and summoned all her strength to her feet and exploded off of the knee and onto the head.
*BOOOMMM!!!!!!*
[-2100 HP! Critical strike!]
[400/2500 remaining!]
Just as she had planned the red light ball had hit the Lycan-Taurus's leg and now it had lost significant HP.
"That one red ball could do 2100 damage?!!!?! If that hit me I would have 21 times over!"
As the beast was in pain Katarina took out her sword and with 1 smooth slash detached the Lycan-Taurus's head from its body.
****************************
[-500 HP!]
[0/2500 remaining!]
[You have slayed a Lycan-Taurus! EXP earned: 200] [Magic core obtained.]
"Finally, Tet, can you absorb the core please?"
[Core absorbed, no stat points earned.]
[All requirements for quest: Know Your Place (E-Rank) have been completed.]
[Katarina has obtained
- 40 stat points
- 1 basic Swordsmanship training manual
- 1 basic Blacksmithing manual]
****************************
Katarina had long since been used to her unluckiness so she didn't even bother to try and throw a tantrum. Instead she rejoiced at her rewards. She opened up her status to add the stat points.

She started looking around and was shocked to see her eye-sight improve. It wasn't as monstrous as seeing seeing ants clearly from the corner of your eye but it was still quite amazing. However it seemed that along with sight her hearing had also increased.
Now it was time to get the sword and the blacksmith manual.
"Inventory, sword manual. blacksmith manual."
As soon as both the manuals appeared in Katarina's hands 4 notifications appeared.
[Basic Swordsmanship Manual]
[Does Host wish to absorb: (Y/N)]
[Basic Blacksmithing manual]
[Does Host wish to absorb: (Y/N)]
"Yes, yes."
A glowing sensation overflowed from Katarina's body as knowledge flooded through her brain. If any other person had seen her right now, it would have looked like she was basking in yellow light.
As the feeling faded away Katarina analysed her memories and she could see things she hadn't seen before, knowledge of basic forging, sword stances, metal-shaping and everything you need to know to just get a simple touch in blacksmithing and sword-mastery.
[Ding! Ding! New Skill Obtained!]
