Chapter 6 - Merchants

The voices awoke Katarina from her slumber and she opened her eyes.

'Well, let's try this.'

Immediately in the blink of an eye, she disappeared and appeared right in front of the men that were talking outside the forest, albeit tripping along the way.

Of course, her agility stat wasn't high enough for her to run that fast as that but in the few hours before she had started sleeping she had learnt a new skill.

*Flashback*

"Uhhgg! I'm bored! Tet hasn't given me anymore quests, my sword's disappeared so I can't even increase the level of my skill! Even worse, how am I supposed to increase the level of my blacksmith skill if I have no facilities!" Katarina complained.

However, that was when a brainwave struck her brain.

'Of course! If I can't train my existing skills, I'll just make new ones! But how do I make skills?'

[*You can either get skills from manuals given to Host by the System or Host can make her own skills.*]

"Thanks and anyway, I told you to drop the Host and stop calling yourself in 3rd person. It's annoying!"

[*Very well, Katarina.*]

"Much better." Katarina sat back down and started thinking of a really powerful skill that she could learn. After around 20 minutes she finally found it. In One Piece there were 6 superhuman skills called the Rokushiki that were extremely difficult to learn. However the author had only specified how one of those techniques worked, Soru otherwise known as Shave.

It was a movement technique that worked from kicking of the ground 10 times in the blink of an eye.

Katarina got back up again and tried doing Soru. She prepared her leg muscles and kicked off as fast as possible.

*SFX for trip and crash*

[*Supreme Beings are laughing at you. Stat points +1]

Ignoring the notification and wiping the dirt from her face, Katarina stood up and tried again.

-2 hours later-

Katarina disappeared from her starting point and after around 2 seconds reappeared at a tree around 20 metres in front of her tripping over the pebble that happened to be in her way.

Of course she hadn't actually managed to kick off the ground 10 times in the blink of an eye. That would be impossible without the right fitness and training. Instead she had managed to kick off around 2-3 times since her stats weren't that high yet.

"That took long enough, ah, I'm exhausted," said Katarina as she slumped down onto the uncomfortable ground, closing her eyes.

*Flashback End*

As Katarina appeared in front of the men, time slowed down for her as she activated her perception stat (which had now increased by a few points due to the Supreme Beings laughing at her). Time slowed down for her as she took in all the details of the people in front of her.

There were around 14 people of who 9 were male adults 2 were women and 3 were children of which there were 2 girls and 1 boy. This was her first good look at what people of this world wore and she inwardly cheered at what she saw. What they wore was pretty much modern clothing with a few minor changes like a slightly bigger collar on some shirts.

However these people were wearing rugged dress shirts with buttons open and sleeves rolled up with coats covering their shoulders and most of them were wearing cropped pants and shorts. They looked a bit like pirates but more noble.

The thing that struck Katarina as odd was the fact that some of them had green or even purple hair. She concluded that it was probably dyed.

Katarina finished analysing and mustered up the most confident voice she could.

"Who the hell are you and what are you doing on this island!?!"

Katarina had been expecting surprise, or maybe even shock but for some reason the men who gazed upon Katarina looked down towards her body and the boy who seemed like he was her age blushed. Wondering why they averted their gaze to her body, Katarina looked at what she was wearing and nearly died of embarrassment.

Her shorts could barely be considered shorts anymore what with most of it being ripped showing a large amount of her thighs and her shirt looked more like a bra from the multiple rips in the clothing after battle with the giant Lycan-Taurus.

Feeling the deep red blush creeping up her neck Katarina was about to run but one of the women came forward and wrapped her coat around her.

"I think we should be the ones asking that to you, little girl." The woman answered in a kind voice.

*Time-Skip 1 hour*

Katarina couldn't have possible told the merchants that she was transmigrated into this world with a system so she had simply told them that she had no memories and had just woken up on this island.

She thought that they might have been a bit rude but it was the complete opposite. They were the nicest people she had ever met, they had even given her new clothes to wear!

Katarina had also taken time to get to know the 2 girls and the boy who came with the merchants. The 2 girls, Layla and Alicia were sisters, 10 years-old and 8 years-old respectively while the boy, Adam was 9 years old. The girls were quite nice to her but it seemed that Adam was a bit shy, so Katarina didn't spend much time talking to him.

She was just about to go into the forest to do her daily exercise when one of the men that Katarina now knew as Adam's father came up to her. Adam's eyes lit up and her ran to his dad's side.

"Why are you here, shouldn't you be relaxing dad?" Adam asked.

He smiled and ruffled Adam's hair. "Its fine Adam, I'm just here to speak with Katarina here."

Adam's father looked away from Katarina and looked at her with eyes that were clearly serious. He opened his mouth and spoke but the question he asked confused Katarina even more than she had been in her entire life.

"How would you like...to become my daughter?"
