Once the dinner was finished , we went upstairs and that was when the thought hit me.
' WE WOULD HAVE TO SLEEP ON THE SAME BED !!! '
I was starting to freak out when it came to my mind , ' He doesn't like me at all and neither do I . He also doesn't look like someone that would allow a stranger to sleep on his bed , so maybe he would make me sleep in another room or the sofa . That happens in books all the time , doesn't it ? '
With that thought in mind , I slowly followed after him towards the bedroom , waiting for him to tell me to go to another room .
Once we were inside the room , he directly went to the bed and sat down on it while I stood still like a statue near the door . He was checking his phone but stopped when he saw that I was not on the bed . He looked towards me and asked , " Alexandra , why are you standing there ? "
" I-I ... " I stuttered while thinking of a response . When I finally found something to say , he beat me to it .
" Alexandra , tell me . Was this a contract marriage ? "
" Umm ... no "
" Did your parents force you to marry me ? "
" .... no "
" Then , why do you think that I will let you sleep in another room ? "
' How in the world did he come to know that I was thinking that ?! CAN HE READ MINDS ?!' I was shocked .
" I cannot read minds, Alexandra . It's just that you're pretty easy to read. " He sighed and continued , " So are you coming or ..... do you perhaps want me to lift you and place you on the bed . " He ended his remark with a devilish smirk on his face .
I got flustered on hearing his words and started taking off my cardigan when I suddenly felt unnerved at the thought that I was just wearing a sleeveless mid-thigh length black silk gown underneath . Suddenly the silk gown which always made me feel comfortable was making me feel uneasy . For the first time in my life, I started regretting the fact that I had stopped wearing full-length pyjamas .
" Sweetheart looks like you need a bit of help . " Lucifer said .
" NO ! I-I am coming . " I quickly replied .
I unwillingly took off the cardigan and hung it in the closet . I went towards the bed and sat down on its edge before slowly laying down . I dared not get anywhere near him so I scooted even nearer to the edge and adjusted my position in such a way that I would be far from him without falling off of the bed during the middle of the night .
Thankfully the bed was broad enough for both of us to sleep without touching each other.
" I still can't believe that you are a chivalrous person. " I suddenly said .
" My mother always told me that if a man does not even open the door or buckle the seat belt of his wife , then that man isn't even worth calling a man " he said and went quiet .
" Oh ... your mother was wise ... Anyway , good night , sweet dreams . " I said and closed my eyes, I knew very well that if this topic was to be extended even a bit more, the situation would turn awkward. Who likes to talk about something so personal with a stranger, right?
" Good night . " he said .

The next day
I woke up when the sun rays shone on my face . The moment I opened my eyes , I was greeted with the sight of Lucifer's face .
' This Devil looks so handsome when he is asleep . Why did he become a businessman ? He should've become a model instead . What a waste of such a handsome face .
I was so consumed in my thoughts that I did not even realise that he had woken up .
" What are you thinking about ? " he asked .
" You know , you look like those people who could make a ton of money just from selling their face . You are extraordinarily handsome and it makes me feel as if all the good looking genes in the world were given to you . " I unknowingly spoke while in a daze .
" Hahahaha "
Suddenly the sound of his melodious laughter woke me up from my daze . I felt astonished over the fact that I had once again spoken the things on my mind .
" So you think that I am extraordinarily handsome ? That all the good looking genes in the world were given to me ? That I could just make tons of money just by selling my face ? " He said in a teasing manner .
" I did not mean that ! "
" Oh , then what did you mean ? Do tell , I am very curious to know . "
" Ugh ! You are the worst Lucifer !! " I said and ran inside the bathroom .

Lucifer's POV
" Now I know why people like to tease each other . " I said to myself .
I switched on my phone and saw that there were numerous missed calls and many messages in our group chat from my two friends . All the messages were from yesterday . I started reading the messages .
Friend 1 : LUCIFER !!! WHY THE HECK ARE YOU NOT PICKING UP YOUR PHONE ?!
Friend 2 : Lucifer , this was all set up by you wasn't it ?!
Friend 1 : How could you do this to us Lucifer !!! We haven't even seen sister-in-law !!
Friend 2 : SEEN ?! WE DON'T EVEN KNOW HER NAME !!!
Friend 1 : Did you seriously just switch off your phone now ?!!!!
Friend 2 : At least tell us , why you are committing such torture on us ?
Friend 1 : Wait , don't tell me . LUCIFER DID YOU DO ALL THIS BECAUSE WE TEASED YOU THAT DAY ?!
Friend 2 : Lucifer how can you be so petty ?
After I read all the messages , I replied with , " You deserved it . "
I was met with an immediate response .
Friend 1 : It was such a small matter .
Friend 2 : Yeah , but anyway now tell us , when are you going to introduce sister-in-law to us ?
Lucifer : Well I was planning on making you guys meet today but after ' some people ' said that I am very ' petty ' , I changed my mind . I am now planning to shift that meeting to the next month .
Friend 1 : NO !!!!!
Friend 2 : Bro !!! Please have some mercy on us .
Friend 1 : I swear , I'll never tease you again . Please let us meet her .
Friend 2 : I swear too . Please bro .
Lucifer : Hmm ... I am in a good mood today so I guess I will reduce your punishment .
Friend 1 : Thank you so much bro .
Friend 2 : Thank you !! So when will we meet her now ?
Lucifer : On Saturday , 8:00 pm
Friend 1 : The usual place ?
Lucifer : The usual place .
After that, I kept my phone at my bedside and stood up to get some clothes from my wardrobe before going to use the bathroom of the adjacent room .
While I was showering , I suddenly remembered the events which had led to the earlier chat .
Flashback ( Refer to the chapter - the dance , in case you don't remember )
Third person POV
They took the lift to the parking lot and upon reaching , found that a few people were standing just near the lift . The moment those people saw both of them , they stopped talking to each other and said , " Good Afternoon Sirs "
" Mr. Lucifer as told us to give you something , so do you mind coming with us towards the car ? " one person said . Lucifer's friends recognised this man as one of Lucifer's trusted bodyguard . So , they just nodded and followed after the few men .
The man took them to a car and opened its door . Then , they pushed both of Lucifer's friends into the car before getting in themselves .
" WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING ? " Friend 1 shouted .
" ARE YOU TRYING TO KIDNAP US ? " Friend 2 asked .
" Sorry sir but we cannot tell you anything except for the fact that we are not going to harm you and we are also not under the order of your enemies . "
" Wait ... Did Lucifer tell you to do this ? " Friend 1 narrowed his eyes and asked .
The bodyguard stayed silent at this , so he tried calling Lucifer but Lucifer declined his call . After a few more tries , Lucifer switched off his phone but they still spammed their group chat with numerous messages , in an effort to get an answer from him . All this easily confirmed their suspicions that Lucifer was the one behind all this .
