Guinevere frowned. Then it turned into a scowl, again. She couldn't stop blaming herself, how she's so powerful yet so... stupid. She could've easily dodged Helcurt's attack if she wasn't as slow. Was it because of the hormonal changes in her body, of the baby, causing her reflexes to be delayed?
She doesn't even know how to tell Granger about it, even though he's been staring at her heavily occupied state for the past couple of minutes.
He was at the other side of the room, sitting at the window seat where Swan Lake could be overlooked in a scenic panorama.
The bedroom decor was had girlish pastel colors which was how a little girl's bedroom should be, though it was only one of the few guest bedrooms in Oddette's Castle.
The bedroom was familiar, similar to Guinevere's in the Baroque Palace. She knows she will never go back there but she admits she misses the comfort of her sheets and her battles with sleep in the morning.
Granger acknowledged the bedroom's innocent and childish design too. He imagined it belonged to a little girl. In the morning, she's being awaken by her parents. Her mom opening the curtains while her father lifts her up into the air, energizing her soul for the day.
Granger remembers his father used to throw him around like a doll, fortunately no bones were broken. His mother would be cooking breakfast in their little kitchen. The conversation they had is still vivid in Granger's mind. They were talking about getting their beloved little boy a puppy for his birthday.
He never gotten his present though because a day before his birth, the War of the Empire and the Southern Mountains had ransacked his village, including its people. And his parents.
He was later on brought to the Monastery by the Imperial Army. His life changed since then, promising to himself he would fight for no one but himself.
Of course, his selfish promise had altered. He was going to protect not himself anymore, but the person he loves.
Guinevere was born of talent and royalty. She was his complete polar opposite, but his heart knows why he's the one in hers.
Not that opposites attract, but they simply shared the same dreams, and Guinevere admits she sort of has a thing for antisocial demon killer.
Guinevere had looked up, glancing at Granger. He looks up too and makes eye contact. Both of their bodies grew warm as they looked away, both flushed.
"Why... are you so far away from me?" Guinevere softly asked, avoiding his glance. She bites her lower lip nervously, patting the space beside her. "Come here."
"I'm comfortable here." Granger declined, turning to look outside and pretending to admire the view.
Guinevere shook her head, smiling, before making a move. She stood up and stretched in her pink pajamas, yawning tiredly. She was sleepy still but she needed his physical comfort.
She claimed the spot next to him and as she was about to place her head on his shoulder, she pulls back when her chin almost collided with his coat's spikes.
"Remove the jacket!" She seethed.
"No, thank you." He replied lowly.
"I'm not requesting. I'm ordering you to."
"No."
"No?" Guinevere pouted childishly.
Granger sighed in defeat. "'Kay fine." He groaned in his typical bored tone. Yet she knows that bored tone could make anyone's skin crawl.
Guinevere clapped her hands as she watched him take his coat off. Once off, he can't help but to cross his bandaged arms protectively. Why was he afraid of what she thinks of the bandages? It wasn't like she never saw them before.
Guinevere nestled her head in the crook of his neck, unbeknownst that he was uncomfortable. She felt the warmth of his skin as he feels strongly for her touch.
She smiled, seeing full of his face at last. Guinevere felt like she was seeing Swan Lake for the first time since it was a rarity to see his face whole.
Thus it would've been better if he stopped hiding such gorgeous features. Perhaps then his targets would not only be knocked senseless of his lousy music but also of his handsomeness.
Sigh. She doesn't need a charismatic demon hunter anyways. Not that she's talking about Alucard.
About Alucard, she wanted to ask Granger about his well-being. But she worried it might ruin the moment.
She could hear his heartbeats quickening as she slid her hand to his own, clasping them together.
They fit ever so perfectly like they were made for each other. But the fact that his heartbeats and hers weren't the only ones she was hearing floods her with worry. Should she tell him or perhaps it is too early for that?
It seems too soon. Another time then, Guinevere finalized.
Granger wouldn't be the type of person who likes surprises, and this one would absolute make him faint.
She snuggled him close as though he was a teddy bear, though not likely as soft as one. Little did she know, she was hurting him. There were still unhealed wounds underneath the bandages. The blood rose, but Granger didn't complain about it. He never got the chance to be this close to her earlier since he was busy keeping themselves alive so he'll cherish this while it lasted.
"The scars you showed me when we were kids," Guinevere spoke carefully. "Are they still there?"
"They're a part of me so yeah, they're still there." He stuttered.
"I think I want to see them again."
"You'll regret it."
"Why would I? I love all of you and they're a part of you, unless you feel provoked..."
Granger unwrapped the bandages on his arms upon her request. He felt provoked, yes, but only a little. If she was someone else, he surely wouldn't let her be five meters close to him.
There wasn't only scars. There were recent ones. Some were bruised and some were swollen. It was sad to say it ruined his pale skin.
Seeing the wince on her face, Granger immediately rewrapped his arms.
"Granger..." Guinevere trailed off in concern. "It hurts more everytime I hug you, does it? God, I am so sorry."
"What are you talking about? Your hugs numb the pain. But as for your lips, they tranquilize me."
Guinevere giggled. "Are you flirting with me?"
"Somehow, I got infected by Alucard."
"Flirting isn't a bad thing, though, unless the person you're flirting with doesn't like you."
"Do you like me, Gwen?" Granger said, putting up a charming smile.
She scoffed at his act as she climbed on his lap, sending electrifying signals down to his core. "I like you when you're sane. Now begone, stranger! And bring me back my gremlin." She commanded.
He smiled sheepishly as she leaned forward, bumping their noses playfully. The two of them laughed and their nose bumping soon turned to french kissing right when Lancelot came in without knocking.
"Oh, sorry!" The knight awkwardly grinned at the two of them before going back out. Oddete peaked in chuckling and Guinevere dug her face in Granger's shoulder, her body shivering as she stifled her laughter.
Oh, how uncomfortable it was for Granger to keep himself tamed while her legs were absent-mindedly stroking him, making it harder to breathe properly. And Guinevere staring at him knowingly wasn't helping.
He gulped nervously and turned away from her melting gaze.
"How did your eyes became red anyways? Weren't they brown before?" Guinevere minded to ask, keeping the tension a little tight.
"U-Uh, by engulfing the powers of the first demon I killed." He was now biting his lip, trying hard not to let himself away to her seduction.
"Hmm." Guinevere pretended to act innocent as she scratched her chin, pondering, when in reality she was teasingly humping on top of him. "How does one engulf a demon's powers?"
"F*ck." It managed to escape form Granger's throat.
"What did you say?"
"Nothing. Just... Ah."
At last, he moaned. Guinevere couldn't help but to feel a spark growing into a wildfire from her core as well.
As Guinevere was about to lean in, Granger pulls away, only to be pinned to the seat. "The door isn't locked." He said, anxiously. "Your brother might come in on us again and-"
"Are you even hearing yourself right now?" Guinevere snickered. "I've never seen you this nervous before. Is it because I'm the one on top this time?"
"I just want you to lock the door." He muttered.
"Oh. Why didn't you say so?" Without moving from her position, she summoned her magic and telepathically closed the door.
"The windows too, please."
"Stop panicking!" She cackled.
"I'm not panicking." His reply was instant, meaning he was panicking. "I'm simply being cautious."

Can I just say that this book has no ending. Sometimes I'm just in and out of the mood to update a few chapters long and short alike for the plot. I also think that my writing had become... LaZy ರ╭╮ರ since the writer's block is getting to me.
I'm trying to rank up from Grandmaster to Epic though having either Granger and Guinevere as my mains.
Though I am practicing on Haya. I heard you're able to carry a whole team with him if you're good enough.
The Filipino servers seemed to be full of trash talkers and nub teammates lately, forcing me to always report all of them and make me lose stars.
But if you haven't found out about my ML acc already here it is // Creamsticks //
Yep it's my username and don't even ask me what it means coz I don't even know why I chose that instead of something else better like theLegend27.
Lastly before I end this A/N I just wanna give rereca_ and RoseyLightz for being the first ones to read this book. It might not mean much to you but it means everything to me, gives me motivation to write more Granevere fluffy moments (especially with a lil rated PG s*** (◠‿・)
Later.
