Granger stared at his body covered whole of bandages as his heart remain at rapid pace. Minutes have passed since he woke up and his anxiety is still through the roof. Nightmares were common for him, but they were worsening the more they visit. They were getting scarier and gut-wrenching, more so that they are related to his past.
Granger takes out his violin and begins playing a soft tune. Everytime his demons strike, playing his violin was the only thing that would calm them down. He played a song opposite to what he would play for his victims. The melody was of joy and peace. The rhythm calm and steady.
After becoming satisfied and relaxed from the music, Granger stared at the coffin for what seemed like an eternity, pondering whether what was for the best.
Her freedom or her safety? Because Granger wasn't really taking her back to her abusive parents for the big reward, it was so she would be safe and well even if it meant having her forced to commit into an arrange marriage.
He remembered what Lancelot said earlier on: "You would've been the one to marry my sister and you wouldn't be as lonely as you are now!"
Had he remained in the Baroque Palace, he wouldn't stand a chance against Gusion Paxley anyhow for he would be a servant his entire life.
He wouldn't have any title or riches that would impress Guinevere's father unlike the Paxley boy. It's better being a demon hunter anyhow as lonely as it sounds, so long as Guinevere was safe, he would be at peace with himself for his whole lifetime.
For whatever choice he would choose, he can never have her.
But what if he woke up Guinevere right now and asked her to run away with him? No, that would be what the insane and oh-so-charming Alucard would do and he doesn't want that.
He wasn't fond of her image yet. Still he couldn't believe it was the same impish little princess he befriended in the past. Even so in her unconscious state and invisible inside the coffin, the fact that he was alone with the same room as her still makes him very uncomfortable.
She wasn't just an impish and adventurous princess anymore. She was also a very alluring lady who would make a thousand knights swoon and bow to kiss her feet. For the past long years, she had become a goddess and she doesn't even know it.
Granger could feel his eyes glowing in a strong shade of red as his gaze now felt like it could tear the coffin apart. Half of him wanted to open it, and he obeyed.
The coffin melts into ashes, revealing one beautiful sleeping body. He's never been this nervous before, probably because he's never kissed or has been kissed by anyone other than his mother, which had been ages ago.
Just a kiss to wake her up, nothing more and nothing else should be done after, Granger guaranteed himself.
Biting his lip, his knees weakened and he clenched his fists harder. He was now crouching before her like an archaeologists finding a rare artifact. He was in awe and his eyes couldn't help but to wander her body. Her body, especially her cleavage—it was making him crazy.
He was now inches away from connecting their lips. He scanned her for a moment. Her lashes were thick and dark it boosted her dollish features.
Then something underneath him grew warm as his heart was beating at maximum. But when he kissed her, the warmth felt like he was now on fire. Her lips were as soft as flan. And when he placed his hand on her cheek, it was like touching brand new silk.
The monster inside of him had rose from its hellish depths. Granger thought it was time to stop, but he couldn't. It was as if his body was having its on mind. All of a sudden, he felt her kiss back, pulling him down in a desperate force like she was sucking the life out of him. It was only then did he realized she was now awake when a muffled moan came out of her mouth. How it made his insides shake in excitement.
"Gwen!" After pulling away for air, Granger widened his eyes as he looks back at Guinevere. They both give each other confused expressions.
"What's wrong?" She broke the silence. She seemed rather disappointed by his sudden aversion.
Granger turned his back against her. He distanced himself, not wanting to let himself get carried away with his temptations. "I-I shouldn't have done that. I'm sorry, Gwen."
Guinevere stood up. He could feel her slowly getting near. When she hugged him from behind, her bodily warmth soothed and tortured his anxiety at the same time. She was a few inches shorter than him but she was tall enough to rest her head on the crook of his neck.
"You don't have to run away from me anymore, Granger," Guinevere pleaded in a low hum. "For we can run away together. I know you're still the boy I met before. He's always there inside you, I know it."
When he carefully grabbed her hand and look at it, it was small compared to his. But as tiny and vulnerable as it looked, it was as deadly as a hidden blade.
"Aren't you in love with Gusion Paxley, though?" Granger wanted to make sure.
"The truth is, you're the one I'm in love with, as crazy as it sounds. I've always been in love with you and missing you."
Granger scoffed in disbelief. "We only met once."
"I know, but our meeting was the most memorable memory of my childhood. Even when you left you still remained in me and I've been desperate for you to know that."
His wounds were beginning to hurt under the bandages but he wanted to cherish this moment while it lasted.
"Gwen..."
"Yes?"
"Will you..." He bit his lip, wincing, hesitating. "Will you run away with me?"
Guinevere's eyes lit up and she was becoming giddy, the two of them were. "Yes, Granger, I will run away with you." The redhead responded with a wide smile.
Guinevere turned him around, clasping his hand so close to her chest that he couldn't contain his lustful hunger anymore. In his own will, he pulls her for yet another kiss, much more passionate than before.
