… I don't want to be in this place. This place is weird, the people freak me the fuck out, and I hate the fact that i'm given a job the moment I get here. Hero my ass. What kind of hero has shit stats like this?
A large blue window opens in front of Xyle as he thinks about it and shows him a list.

The window vanishes and he sits up and looks out the window of the room he was in.
The "Gods" or whatever said I need to find their kings' temples starting with the one nearest here because the yellow one needs his eyes back. Whatever that means… I how the hell am I supposed to be a fucking hero?
It's been a few weeks since I've been summoned and I haven't been told a lot about where I am. Only what I'm supposed to do I guess. According to the people of the high grounds, I need to go through the dungeon trials and retrieve the hero's items to build my party and save one more god from slumber. Hayula the white god. Her blessings have stopped appearing around the place since she fell and no one knows why it happened. Which is stupid. All these history books and lore tales and you don't know why she fell asleep. I had to go around and look for the information I needed on my own since it seemed like no one was capable of helping me. Except for that Ramisus guy. I almost always see him in the royal library looking through one book that looked like records. I think it was his family record he always looked through, but he never stayed to finish it. Just a few pages and then he leaves as soon as he's seen. He doesn't hold his head high like the others and doesn't seem as confident as he sounds but he is a lot more helpful than the others. If he doesn't know something he'd go find it out and come back with something useful. Yet the more we interact, the less I want to be around him. He reminds me a lot of her. Reserved, uninterested, and only speaks when spoken to. When they speak, it's simple and to the point. Sometimes it's sweet to the ears, most other times it's harsh common sense. It's hard to stay around him but he's the only one I can't think of to be of any help, even though he tells me he doesn't think so.
Maybe one day we could get along if I keep up the act. Keep showing him I want to be friends. At least I'll have some familiarity to feel like I'm back home, but he just won't open up. His brother and mother are like flies to garbage whenever they see me with him and he leaves every time, like he doesn't care for them. I don't either! I want to be out of this house! I want to see the markets I've heard so much about from these two! I want to see the knights training ground down the way! Let me come with you! Don't just leave me here! They are exactly the same. She left me with that obnoxious mob of people to deal with while she sat in the back of the room to herself doing whatever! Where is he going?! Why does he keep leaving me here!?

A month of this constant praise and ignore circle from the Campbell family, I can finally get the hell out of this suffocating house of contradictions. Ramisus and his dad are both antisocial nutcases and his mother and brother are manipulative bitches. This is the worst house I could ever be stuck in! Shit. okay. I can go out and meet other people. Hopefully there aren't nobles… and I stand here jinxed. I got to meet three people from the central sector, Caletone. Two guys named Antonio Delrose and Clatin Rosby, and a beautiful woman named Dressrosa Baltese. Though, I say beautiful, you can tell she's completely two faced with how she's sizing me and the other guys up. I know that feeling way too well and I hate it.
I didn't think I was going to be stuck with two muscle heads and a headhunter. This is going to be an interesting venture.
We finally headed to the market district. On a coach. Why couldn't I sit next to Antonio? Dressrosa's perfume is fuming so much that my nose is burning. Though, Antonio looks like he's not having a good time sitting next to musty Clatin over there. It takes a few hours of Clatin's loud stories of nonsense until we get to our first shop. I'm actually thankful for every one of them being here. They all seemed to know what I needed for my basic build, but they didn't seem to know my fighting style so they kept making me try swords that are heavier than what I'm used to. Which would essentially be most of them. I can't get my handle on the short swords well and the long swords don't fit my style. I know kendo for sword fighting and that's it. I didn't want to do fencing cuz it was more of a sport while kendo was mostly about using self-defense as an offense.
If she was here, she would probably be able to tell me what could be used for those kinds of skills and help me learn how to hold the sword that fits. There are so many of them that I don't recognize though. I finally decide on a long sword that Antonio picks for me just to get out of there. The blacksmith was looking at me funny before we left but I didn't pay it much attention. We headed down the street for a bit, I wanted to try out some of the vendors' food. The cooking smelled great and the people looked happy. It was a nice change of pace but I don't think I can relax with those three… well two of them at least, being absolute dicks about the common life. The hell is wrong with it? Antonio just seemed to be preoccupied by something else. Curious as to why he's distracted, I look at what took his attention and find a noble lady with her servant talking to a goblin that stood at her shoulders in height. They were talking as if they were the best of friends and this was obviously weird in this world because I noticed that everyone around was watching them now.
The strangest thing about this is that the goblin is not only talking to the noble girl formally, but he's also baby faced unlike other goblins. Most of them would have a manly aura about them as far as I've seen, yet this one has the most androgynous posture. I say 'he' loosely, because I can't even really tell what 'he' is. He doesn't even have hair so he's obviously fresh blood. That's what I've heard them call the newborns or younger ones so far. And for some reason I can't take my eyes off of him either. Like something is telling me to check him for something.
I guess it's that 'hero's intuition' thing in my status kicking in for maliciousness?? He looks like he's having fun though, so I'll leave him be for right now. As soon as I think this the noble girl drags the goblin into the high class store that Dressrosa wanted to go into. She's not gonna like that. Shit… maybe I can keep her out of there until they leave? … and she's off. Great, now we have to wait for her dress order. Guess we can go look for stuff for us cuz why not.
I somehow got the guys to do the same and look around with me for a while even though Antonio was being a little difficult after seeing the weird goblin from earlier, so we didn't take long looking around and got back to the wagon just in time to see the goblin leave the store by himself. Which, one, was odd, two, Antonio was looking at him like he had to kick him to the next field goal. And he knows I know what he's thinking but I also know that Clatin would be the only one stupid enough to say something about…
"Would you look at that?" Fuck, he spoke. I don't want to think about this. "The ugly green turd came out by himself. What happened to his master? She ditch him?"
"They went to the other shop down the way, Clatin. They're not far from here." Antonio replies. I see he was right. The noble lady and her maid were at the food stall getting snacks.
I look back at the goblin and suddenly our eyes meet. I suddenly felt the urge to just say hi to him. It wasn't even a bad feeling either. It was actually a really good feeling. I think I will talk to him.
… let's say hi before he runs off on me, since he looks so nervous. I can probably put his mind at ease as a 'hero'. But before I could get myself ready to speak, the goblin bows and gets ready to walk off on his own.
Shit! No no no no! Don't go yet! Think of something to say! Say something!
"Whoa there little guy! Wh-whatcha got there?" smile. Look friendly. Don't intimidate him.
"I'm sorry?"
Holy shit. That's a husky voice. I thought someone else was talking to me! Shit my ears are vibrating listening to this goblin. I'm trying to be friendly but not familiar like I would with the nobles since I'm technically one of them.
"Uh.. your bag?" seem curious. Act friendly. "What's in it?"
"... My clothes. I just got done shopping with my mistress. She told me to wear clothes more befitting to the household since I'll be indoors."
Ok. good. I got his attention. Uh. How did people approach me again? Wait, is this even okay. Forget it, let's keep trying to get him to talk some. Be cool… But the more I tried to get him to chill the more uncomfortable he seemed. Is it because of the guys behind me? Or because he's a monster and I'm human? Maybe I'm being too forward? I don't know. I'm just curious about him.
"You don't mind me having a look do you?" It's just a curious question. I just want to know what kind of style he'd wear. I don't see a lot of goblins around so seeing one shopping was kind of interesting. A lot of people had asked to see my things out of curiosity since they wanted to be friendly with me. I'm only doing the same but my feelings are genuine.
"... I doubt that's reasonable, sir. Since you're not the guard of this sect." … He's so rude! His manners were good. His actions are humble like a regular person. And that was the odd thing. Is he toying with me? Does he not not actually know how to interact with nobles? Or is it arrogance? Whatever the case is, the only thing he hasn't shown to us thus far was timidness. It was easy to tell how guarded he was. He hasn't done anything to warrant him being in trouble or anything so what is putting him so on edge. Come on. I'm not even trying to intimidate him! D-did I say it wrong?? Maybe I came off too strong? Ahh… What should I do? Apologize! That was a dumb question! I need to-
"Watch your tongue, you filthy monster!" what!? What did I…! Oh. wait. That was Clatin. Fuck! No! Don't scare him off, you idiot! Go away! "You should be begging this honorable man to search your stolen goods!" What!? No! I need to stop this!
"W-whoa whoa. Hold on a second."
"Miss Christa! Madam Venessa!" the goblin suddenly calls out to the noble girls. They instantly jump to attention and rush over like they were the servants. Odd but I honestly can't really blame them. That's one wicked ass voice he has.
"Tessa! What happened?!" … Tessa…???
"These guys think I stole this bag of clothes. What do I do in a situation like this?" wait wait wait wait!
"Oh my god!!" the noble girl shouts. "Please lower your sword! This goblin is mine and I would like for her to be dressed appropriately for her acceptance to the main house!" Wait, what!!? Who!? CLATIN!! WHY!!?
"You dare disrespect the great summoned one!?" Shit!
I suddenly hear metal snap like it just hit something harder and see the blade of the Clatin's sword in the goblins fingertips with cracks in it like it was getting ready to crumble under the pressure. Holy shit…
"Never point your blade at the ambassador's daughter." the Goblin suddenly demands. I instantly got chills of death running down my spine. I gotta stop this now. That goblin will instakill all of us.
"Okay!! Okay! E-easy. T-that's my bad. I didn't know he was with you… uh… m-miss?" Is that right? Is that how I address a lower noble kid?
"H-Halliway! Vanessa Halliway! I don't care who you are, no one degrades my sister goblin!" Halliway. Halliway?? Oh! I remember! Ramisus told me the Halliway family supports the goblin alley. That makes sense! She's kind of cute… wait she just said 'sister goblin', right? "Is that clear!?"
"Dah! Uh- yes, ma'am! So, wait… that's a girl? With that kind of strength?" if that's really the case then… her name… it can't be… even so, I pray to those shits in the heavens that it is.
"Yes she is. She's a rare breed and should be treated with more respect than even me! Is that clear, Mr. Hero?" yes ma'am, feisty ma'am.
"Okay. I got it. My apologies." thank the heavens. If this is really her, I truly thank the heavens that only a sword was broken today.
"So long as you understand your wrongs. Come, you two." wait! Not yet.
"H-hold on! I still have a question." Please. Please. Please.
"What is it?" the goblin asks. " I don't have all the say you know."
"Your… goblins name." I guess that means I have to ask the master. Ramisus told me Goblins don't usually have full names and are given entitlement names from the Halliway family. Which means they basically take the halliway name and stay near the house. It's rare for a goblin to have a first and last name without a house associated with them. And if that's the case then she can give herself her own name. "Does she have a full name? Like when you give them names of entitlement?"
"Of course she does." the noble… lady Vanessa says. "It's Tessa. Once she is accepted, she will be Tessa Halliway."
No… that can't be all. She has to be. There's no way this is a coincidence. Some goblins take on names from others that they've met or take hereditary names. There is no way that her name was passed on to another."Where did you get your name from?" Please.
"... I've always had that name." That's not it. It's not hereditary. But how does she have this name??
"Where did you get your name from?"
"Ah~! What the hell? That hurts!" shit! No! I didn't mean to!!
I need to calm down. Calm down, Xyle. It's a possibility. It's not out of the question. She lives with the Halliways which means she's more than safe and in the right hands. I don't need to worry for now… that's if she really did become… this. If she did… if she did… wouldn't that be my fault then??
"Master Xyle!" what!? Who the… D-dressrosa… "What are you doing? We must hurry back now. My fiance will be here any day now and I need to look my best. I'm sorry to make you come all the way here, but this is my family's shop after all." Shit she doesn't like goblins. If we stay here any longer she might start something. I can't have that.
"Uh… yeah. Sure. it's no biggy." … we gotta go. I think I caused enough trouble for one day… if I ever get the chance to meet her again. That goblin. I have to ask. I have to know. I don't want to be the only one here. I know that's really selfish of me, but I don't think I can handle being in this world by myself like this. If that really is you… then I can already understand why you would treat me like a stranger now.
