Good morning kings of zyen" Ivar said as he stood up and addressed everyone at the table.
Geez, I was so hungry and they were busy exchanging greetings. I walked to the grand dining table and took a sit beside Ivar.
Breakfast was fried bread, bacon, fried eggs served with Earl Grey tea. I settled down and busied myself with my food, kind of happy to be ignored.
But that joy was short-lived.
"Princess Iris"
"Huh? " I said looking up from my food.
It was the Janacek's king.
" I would like to personally thank you for saving my life and others. Even though you recently came, you still performed your duty. "
I was astounded. The Kings whose places where taken where later found unconscious in the palace. Now that everything was okay, I didn't think I would be praised even after I messed up.
I swallowed down my bread, then turned to the king.
" uhm.. There is no need for that, I'm happy that I was of help."
He nodded in approval.
Ivar then stood up.
"On that note, I would like to officially introduce our future queen"
He held out his hand to me. I sighed and placed my hand on his and stood up.
Why can't I just eat in peace?
"Princess Iris Nilan of Axona, the chosen one. " he announced.
Everyone present at the table gasped. Why where they surprised? Did they think that my power just came like that?
I guess it was the right time to confirm who I was.
" Your majesty, I don't think it is enough to claim her as the chosen one, I suggest the band of Luc " The mitans king proclaimed.
" Very well" Ivar said and snapped his fingers, the same bracelet, at least that's what I thought it was, Grandpa's own appeared, still laying on its cushion.
Ivar leaned in and whispered in my ears.
"Iris, go forward and place your hand out, the band will reach out to you. "
" Do I have to do this? " I whispered back.
" Yes, to prove who you really are "he said smiling reassuringly.
Ivar was smiling at me, so who was I not to do what he says? It's not everyday one gets to see him smile. I just knew him like yesterday and I knew that fact.
I smiled back at him and squeezed his hand gratefully stepped forward and held my hand out to the band.
What if it doesn't choose me? Am I really the chosen one?
All those foolish thoughts vanished the moment the band started glowing. It started rising gradually in the air.
Suddenly, it lunged forward with evident force and stayed put on my wrist.
For a second or two, the room was silent. Didn't they believe the band too?
Then they all stood up and erupted into a cheer.
"She is the chosen one. "
At that point I knew what I had to do. I opened my mouth and let words flow through.
" I know I'm new here, I know I may not know the laws and customs of zyen,I may not deserve to be your leader. Hell I'm not a lot of things but for once in my life, I'm looking at the bright side, who I am not who I'm not. No matter where I've been, where I grew up, how bad my life was.. It doesn't change who I am. I am the chosen one, the future queen of zyen.
When I thought all was lost, I found this, I found something more important than what I always wanted;a family, love and zyen. So no matter what, I will do everything in my power to protect Zyen because life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain. " I said letting out the breath I didn't know I was holding.
Ivar started clapping and slowly everyone else joined him. Ivar came to my side and said
" You're going to make a good queen "
" Oh I know " I said smirking.
Sighing, I thought.
I finally found home.

Kim, ky and I had gone up to the garden after breakfast.
" where did you learn to give such a speech? " ky asked.
" I don't know, it just flowed out of my mouth. I guess there are some moments even you don't know what you're capable of "I said caressing my new band.
They both nodded.
" Enough of that, tell me when you both are getting married. " I said.
They looked at each other . I sighed.
" come on give me a shocking reply and I'll react " I said dryly.
" Since I need a queen before I can assume the position as King of Axona. The wedding has been scheduled for next week "Ky answered.
" That explains why Dad stepped down from the throne" I said nodding.
Ky rose an eyebrow.
"So you're not going to throw a fit, try to kill me or insult me till I want to end my life since I didn't tell you about the wedding? "
" I should probably be doing that but I guess I'm so used to it I can't even pretend to be hurt. " I said shrugging.
" Still we're sorry for not telling you "Kim said.
"It's okay, though Ky when we were you planning on telling me? I mean mum and dad didn't even tell me too"
" we just wanted you to settle in first before giving you any news besides Kim and I have been engaged for two years. It was a coincidence that you came the same time our wedding was scheduled. "
I nodded.
" Are we going back to Axona today? "
I crossed my fingers and prayed he would say no. Please say no, say no.
" Yes, we are going later in the day".
My shoulders slumped. I didn't want to go just yet.
"Ky, Kim excuse me, I have to do something ".
" Sure but don't go too far".
I rolled my eyes and walked away. I silently prayed Ivar was in his room, I didn't want to have to go down the stairs again.
I opened the door slowly and walked in.
"Ivar" I called out.
The room seemed empty. I walked to the closet and opened the door. Immediately my eyes landed on Ivar,he was shirtless but still wearing trousers.
I felt color rise up my face as I turned red. His face was completely expressionless.
"I.. I.. I'm "I stuttered.
I turned around and slammed the closet door behind me.
" Oh no, oh no " I said pacing around the room.
I walked in on him while he was dressing . He looked indifferent to it like it was totally normal for a girl to walk in on you while you were dressing.
No I'm just overreacting he was just shirtless, no big deal, It's not like he was stark naked, that would have been hilarious.
No it wouldn't. Oh heavens I'm going crazy. I should probably just run away before he comes out.
I put my hand on the door knob, about to open it and get the hell out of here.
"Iris, where are you going? "
I squeaked, now I'm done for. I turned around.
" Hello " I waved like the foolish person I am.
Then he did the unexpected, he started laughing. THAT was like the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. It was even more beautiful than his smile.
Ivar was laughing... AT ME!
"What? Why are you laughing?" I said trying to keep my cool.
"You're almost as red as your hair ". He said still laughing.
Breathe Iris, breathe.
" wait, so you're not mad I walked in on you? " I asked trying a diversionary tactic. I didn't what him to be thinking I'm as red as my hair. Hmph!
" Am I meant to be angry? "
" I don't know, I guess so. "
" well I'm not. "
" Oh okay, I just came here to have the proper conversation "
" Come on outside, let's have a seat " he sind gesturing towards the balcony.
I rubbed my arms nervously.
" Well, uhh, I'll rather not"
"Why? "
If I lied now, he'll still find out later. No one knew about this not even Ky.
" Because I have phobia for heights ".
