Ever tried training with your dumb annoying brother?
I'm doing just that and I'm almost regretting choosing him as my trainer.
"FOCUS!!"
"Geez skyler that's exactly what I'm doing " I said dodging his strikes.
" fine then I'm increasing speed"
His hands started striking faster than before. I tried as much as possible to keep dodging them.
He is such a pain.
I wasn't fast enough and one of his punches hit me sending me flying to the floor.
"Agh"
Ky ran to me shouting
"Are you okay? " he asked crouching down beside me.
Immediately I grabbed his hand tightly using my leg as support to hold him up and throw him to the ground. I stood up smirking
" Now I am"
He stood up smiling
"Good one, maybe I was too hard on you today"
"Ya think "
" Now physical combat training is over, let's proceed to your powers"
I sighed
"come on".
Mum and Dad said I had to enhance my fighting skills and learn how to control my powers that I had activated recently. Even though I had taken defense classes a while back on earth. They weren't enough, so I opted for ky to be my personal trainer. And that is going so well(pure sarcasm).
"All you have to do is focus and channel your energy in one direction " Ky said.
It had been a full hour now
And I have been unsuccessfully trying to shoot out 'sonic blasts' from my hands.
" okay okay I get it" I said frustrated.
Imagine you living a normal life and all of a sudden, you can shoot weird stuff from your hands. Won't you be freaking out?
Come on iris, you can do this
I took deep breaths, I can do this. I focused all my energy in one place. I suddenly felt immense power run through me and I aimed at the target and shot with all my strength.
Come on
And it worked, it was working. I finally did it. I did a mental victory dance.
Then suddenly, the energy became too much for me to control. And it kept increasing.
"ky help I can't stop it"
"calm down iris, control have control".
I tried but the energy just kept on increasing, at this rate I could blow up the simulator and a fair deal of the palace.
"Aaaaahh" I screamed expecting everywhere to be blown to bits.
Instead I found myself within a red barrier and my energy contained. It was ky, when he was sure my energy was well contained he released the barrier.
I sighed, sitting on the ground
"that.. was scary and I never want to try it again " I said
I expected ky to look distressed or worried but he was beaming at me.
" Are you crazy? This place would have been nothing but ashes with yours sprinkled on top if you hadn't set up that barrier"
"yes, you almost killed us, that's why I'm here to help you. You have progressed".
"what do you mean? "
" it takes an average of two days to be able to use your powers at a full blown state not to talk of the chosen ones own and you did in less than two hours, splendid. "
I blinked my eyes in surprise.
" wow"
"Great job, sis"
"Thanks, but there is something i've been meaning to ask. What is the chosen one? ".
He switched off the simulator turning the training grounds back to a simple room.
" come on let's go to your room, guess I have to tell you a story"
I followed him, thinking. I had been hearing my family say that phrase "chosen one" for the past week I had been here.
I opened my room door and sat on my bed. Then ky sat beside me.
"come on now spill it "
" yes ma'am " he replied giving me a mock salute.
He sighed and started
" years ago, everyone lived in peace and - - "
" wait wait " I said interrupting him.
" what now? "
I batted my eyelids at him and said
" can you start with once upon a time"
He looked at me in surprise then burst out laughing. To be honest I didn't care how he started the story, just felt like saying that.
"why are you laughing? I don't remember cracking a joke " said feigning annoyance.
He continued laughing and when he finally stopped, I folded my arms with eyebrows raised
" Are you done? "
" most certainly. How old do you think you are? Five? "
" yh yh, you have teased me enough just get on with the story and start with - "
" once upon a time " he interrupted
" Good"
"Years ago people lived in perfect peace and harmony. Wait I think that's supposed to be unity. "
I sighed
" just get on with the story"
"All the clans and kingdoms were United.
The king alpha at that time didn't have an heir to the throne, so he decided to choose his successor from one of the kingdoms. Everyone was expecting him to choose from the aridites, at that time they were part of zyen. As the king alpha held them close to him. But in reality the king alpha only held them close to him because of their nature so he could keep the kingdom safe. The king of the aridites had gone bragging through the kingdoms that the next king alpha will be him. Nobody said anything but on que, the Kings wife, Rosaline became pregnant. This meant that he finally had an heir.

" Mr Joyner "I completed.
" Right, Elix Joyner was not accepting it. He felt that the crown rightly belonged to him. He paid the king a visit demanding for the crown and was of course refused, he left but not before promising to make the king pay. People were not surprised as the aridites were very greedy and nasty people. They had the ability to not age, they wielded the dark power and at least one of them had the ability to use the cursed fire. "
I gasped.
" the fire that can kill me "
He nodded and continued
"Elix disappeared with the aridites for a whole decade but he came back to wage war on zyen, our world. He was powerful enough. Lots of lives were lost but unfortunately for him, he was defeated, thanks to our Grandfather, Luc.
Elix was going to a bomb containing a large amount of cursed fire, it had enough power to blow up an entire realm but grandpa used the nellibet barrier, it was a forbidden power because it used up everything in its wielder, knowing fully well grandpa used it to protect all of us. He successfully contained the cursed bomb but at the cost of his life. Grandpa was almost dead by the time they got to him and his last word were unbelievable at least to mum and Dad. He always had visions so he had to be right"
"what were his last words "I asked
" Do not fear for his end is near, the chosen one shall make its way to the world and will be here to stay. The lost peace will be brought back even after a lot of blood. And with that he died".
"can you take me to his grave? "
He smiled
" maybe later"
I nodded, then he continued
"that now brings us to why mum and dad were scared for you. Over the years, since the first chosen one came to this world. Each of them always died before they were three months old. People said they were too good for this world. You passed the age limit but that meant your life was in grave danger. It is believed that only the chosen one can end them but in my perspective, Ivar can stand a chance against them "
" Who's Ivar? "I asked confused.
" oh you don't know his name"
"who's name? "
" The next king alpha "he said flatly
" Oh" was the only thing I managed to muster.
He is the person I am supposed to marry, that I am betrothed to.

Ky snapped his fingers and pulled me from my thoughts. He smiled at me.
"Don't worry, Ivar is a good guy, he might look all stoic and expressionless but he's not that way with those he cares about"
"And I'm sure I'm not one of 'those he cares about' "
" come on"
"I don't even want to get married but I just want to make things less stressful for mum and dad, they made a deal with me as the stock exchange. Whatever that means but I understand why. They were desperate and they snatched the opportunity to have me back"
"this might be a bad time to tell you but all the same, we are going to the capital tomorrow for two reasons. One I have to attend the summit meeting tomorrow in place of Dad and you have to see your fiance"
"well I don't want to see him. Can I not just ever meet him? " I said in frenzy
" Don't be daft, of course you have to meet him "
He put his hands on my shoulder and said
" don't worry, you'll be fine"
I nodded and he hugged me
"I'll take you to grandpa's grave when we get back"
I smiled and said
"thanks ky means a lot"
"Anything for you sis"
And he left.
