Chapter 56 - 3 Chapter

I strode forward down the carpet until I reached the bottom of the platform, every eye in the court following me as I half folded my wings, lowering my head in respect "Anaxa." I addressed Queen Ni'Korish using the title of a female ruler of a Clan "I descend from your skies, offering gifts."

The young queen was sitting very still, the only sign that my glamor had any effect on her was her right hand that had closed firmly but she gave me a slow nod.

I took a step back, taking in the rest of the court. Even at half glamor, they were all staring with glazed looks in their eyes. The jedi next to the throne had closed her eyes.

Slipping my hand into a pouch on my carrying harness, I pulled out the gifts before shifting them so I had one in each hand.

Nobody reacted...and honestly I was unsure why I was not searched before entering the room. I could have been carrying actual weapons. Maybe Lightsabers do not show up on weapon sensors...and now when under the influence of my glamor, very few guards would think to act against me unless I did something very threatening.

"Anaxa, the tale of these gifts are wrought with courage and danger, profit and loss..." I started, telling the story on how we delved into a Sith tomb in search for treasure and knowledge, a hard fought battle against the ghost of a Lord of The Sith at the side of a old Jedi master.

In the art of classical storytelling I exaggerated my own role in the battles and search, using my glamor to accent the story for best effect "...and so the evil ghost of the Lord of the Sith was slayed, his evil essence returning from whence it came, allowing us to claim the treasure and knowledge contained in that horrid tomb." I finally finished the story, igniting the sabers and crossing the lightsabers in front of me, letting the red light reflect in my eyes before I turned them off and brought them together in my hands.

I lowered my beak and raised my hands, resting the Sith weapons in my palms as I offered them to the ruler of the Hapes Consortium "These ancient twin weapons are my gift to you, Anaxa Ni'korish." I said, letting my glamor flare to full before bringing it down to almost nothing, just to some background radiation.

Queen Ni'Korish swallowed visibly before she slowly stood up before walking down the steps to me. As the rest of the court were still trying to recover she smiled slightly and carefully picked the ancient weapons from my hands, making a show of looking them over.

"Traveler, I accept your Token. Your wing can rest here. This nest welcomes you." She said in somewhat badly accented Creole, clasping both weapons in her hands, using a traditional Morrigi greeting between male and female.

To say that I was surprised was a slight understatement.

My surprise must have show as she smiled "I was curious, Captain Atreus. I looked your species up while I was at the Jedi temple."

Oh. Well, that make sense...I did answer a ton of questions about my species and culture. That would be stored in the semi public part of the library.

I raised my head fathers, folding my wings in fully as I lowered my tailtip "Anaxa, It is good to see you again." I said happily.

The young ruler of a civilization smiled up at me "It is good to see you as well, Atreus."

The Jedi looked like she had been sucking at a bitterroot. Apparently she didn't approve of my gift. Too bad.

Jedi do not have exclusive rights to lightsabers.

I looked around my room in the palace and I was more than impressed. After the audience with the Queen, Tesika brought me to a room close to the top of the castle to show me to my room.

The area was...perfect? A large chamber, around twenty meters across with eight or so meters of space between floor and ceiling.

There were several carved pillars from floor to ceiling, the white marble walls covered with expensive looking drapes and paintings. Along one wall there was several large, soft looking purple pillows.

And half the outer wall was missing, the entrance only blocked by a air energy shield, only there to keep the wind and weather out.

The place looked like it was made for Morrigi.

The old human bowed "If there is anything you require, Captain Atreus, there is a com unit next to the door. Channel one will connect you to a servant."

I nodded "Thank you, Chief Coordinator. I will need to get some things from my ship tomorrow."

The old human woman nodded as she answered "I will send somebody up to accompany you tomorrow, Captain. Good night."

As she walked out and closed the door, I looked around once more, planning to ask exactly when they got this room changed next time I saw the Anaxa. This...could not have been cheap.

I walked over and tried a pillow with my front paw before I changed my mind and gave in to the urge to sleep I then turned and moved over to the closest pillar, digging my claws into the carved pictures for support. As I did I pulled my communicator out and called up Commander Swan.

"Captain, What can I do for you?" The small holographic human asked as the call connected.

I tilted my head "I'm wondering how my crew is doing."

She smiled "We are fine, Captain. We are quartered close to the bottom of the castle, we all have pretty good views of the sea actually."

"Good. Keep a eye out, I was not joking when I said that this place is Nar Shaddaa's lower levels but with a nicer look to it. Also, there is a Jedi in the castle." I told her and she visibly frowned.

"Jedi?" She asked.

I nodded "Jedi. They sent one to help keep Queen Ni'Korish safe. Where there are Jedi..."

"There is trouble." Swan finished the old saying "I will tell the rest of the crew. Was there anything else, Captain?"

I shook my head "No, that is all, Commander. Good night."

"Good night, Captain."
