Chapter 3 - Visualization

"This is the place?"

When they arrived, Claudia poked her head out the window.

It was an old two-story place.

"Mmm." Mercredi smiled at the dilapidated building, her eyes sparkling. "I'm going to tear it all down and start anew! A bakery at the bottom, living space on top!"

Claudia hummed. "Then where are you going to live if not here?"

"Hm? An apartment."

Claudia pursed her lips.

"You have everything figured out I see."

Judging from her pouty expression she seemed to have some complaints.

Mercredi blinked, looked elsewhere, and counted.

5. 4. 3. 2-

"You know, if you told me you were coming to China I could have helped you look for a place! You could live next to me?"

There it was.

Mercredi's eyes widened. "That'd be troublesome!"

"What do you mean? I live in a gated community!"

"I'm not trying to spend all the money, I managed to earn within my lifetime on a house!"

"I mean you could live with me!"

"No way."

"What do you mean no way?! We used to be roommates! Don't tell me, you're still upset at me over that one time...that one time..."

A question sign hung over Mercredi's head. To think Claudia would quiet down on her own. What was it? For her it may have been one time but for Mercredi there had been multiple instances.

Claudia pressed her fingers together as she stared at the floor pouting. Her round cheeks filled with air.

It was times like these, Mercredi found the girl exceedingly lovable and gave-in. She patted her on the head.

"I just don't want to eat a free lunch, that's all."

"Eh? Then! I can hire you as my chef!"

Mercredi blinked at her. She felt as if they were speaking two different languages.

The two of them were both in the culinary department back at Pastel Academy, what did she need a chef for?

"Well, I can't say no to easy pay."

Claudia elbowed her and giggled.

As the two girls walked back inside the car, a black car parked not too far away.

The silhouette of a man seated in the back of the car asked. "Which one is it?"

"The one with the glasses, sir." The driver handed the file back to her. In various pictures, a short girl stood next to a fashionable older woman.

"They're moving. Follow them."
