Chapter 25 - Chapter 25

(As a few more days pass, Dante walks through the halls of Crow's Perch and makes his way downstairs to the sparring grounds where Lenneth and Marcy are seen sitting, watching some of the other Crows and students train. As Dante makes his way towards them, everyone who sparring suddenly stops at the sight of seeing Dante.)

Dante: Well don't stop on my account. If you wish to get stronger then you must train.

(As Dante says this, all his fellows Crows & students bow and continue on with their training.)

Marcy: I thought you were the leader? Why did they all bow before Dante?

Lenneth: Its a simple show of respect. Everyone here knows the feats of Dante and seeing him walk in here on his two feet after surviving what would've killed ordinary men, that is them in awe of his presence.

Dante: What brings you down here, Marcy?

Marcy: Kitara told Lenneth about my progress in training, so Lenneth wanted to show me how she trains her students.

Lenneth: You're up early. How are you feeling?

Dante: I'm a little sore, but I think I'm well enough fight.

Lenneth: Well enough to spar against me?

(As Lenneth says this, everyone stops and gasps at Lenneth's challenge.)

Student 1: No way! Are we really going to see the Grand Master face off against her number one?

Student 2: I've always heard about both of their power, but I've never would've thought that we'd get to see them spar before our own eyes.

(Lenneth stands up and walks onto the training floor.)

Lenneth: What do you say, Dante?

Dante: Sure, why not?

(As he says this, he stands across from Lenneth.)

Dante: Whatever you're ready.

Lenneth: You'll soon come to regret that decision.

Dante: Well what are you waiting for? An invitation?

(As Dante says this, Lenneth dashing in with impeccable speed and begins to let off a series of strikes and kicks that Dante either blocks or dodges to everyone watching suprise, except for Lenneth.)

Lenneth: Your movement looks well. Although your footwork is a step or two behind though. We'll see just how long you'll hold out.

(As Lenneth says this, Dante comes in with equally fast strikes, but not to his surprise, Lenneth's defense still proves solid. After this, they both smile, but soon begin battling it out. Both matching one another blow for blow. Lenneth goes for an axe kick, but Dante blocks it. Shortly after this, Lenneth sweeps Dante's feet, flips into the air and comes down with a double foot stomp, but Dante rolls out of the way and jumps back up onto his feet. As Dante regains his balance, Lenneth comes in with yet another quick punch, but Dante side steps it and guts Lenneth with a breath taking knee strike to the stomach and another quick, but powerful punch to the jaw that knocks her off balance. This garners a surprised reaction from everyone watching.)

Dante: I don't think this room is big enough for us to get serious.

Lenneth: My thoughts exactly.

Dante: And yet I fear that despite this, nothing is going to stop us from trying.

(As Dante says this, Sin walks up with a letter in hand.)

Sin: I'm sorry, but afraid you will have to settle this fight another time.

Dante: You were always knew we to ruin the fun, Sin. Maybe it's time we settle our differences.

Lenneth: Save it for later, Dante. What do you have for me Sin?

Sin: A letter from Damon LaRouge. Its said to be urgent.

Lenneth: If LaRouge says its urgent, then it must be serious. Follow me to my office.

Sin: You all can continue your training now. Crows, back to your positions.

(As Sin says this, he and Dante follows Lenneth to her office. Once there, she opens up the letter and begins to read it. After a few moments she puts the letter down and takes a sit.)

Dante: Well don't just leave me in the dark. What did the letter say and just who is Damon LaRouge?

Lenneth: Damon is one of my contacts in the West Region. He's a good man, one of the few non paras who actually wants to help people.

Dante: So what's the problem?

Sin: Believe it or not, it's the very same group you tried to wipe out.

Dante: Ragnarock?

Lenneth: From what I gather from his letter, it would seem that Ragnarock is looking to expand. Over the past few weeks they've been gaining momentum across the Four Kingdom Region. Not only that, but they have a new member within their top ranks.

Sin: And from what I've heard he's very exceptional.

Dante: What else does the letter say?

Lenneth: Ragnarock has large groups of men making their presence felt. The city's patrol can only handle so much. He's asking for some assistance before the situation gets worse.

Dante: Then that settles it. I think it's time I pay Ragnarock back for their little ambush in New Dawn City.

Sin: Would you like some assistance with this?

(After hearing this, Dante starts to grin.)

Dante: Did I hear that correctly? You want to aid me? A Fallen Crow?

Sin: You can never seem to let things go.

(As Sin says this, Dante gets in his face.)

Dante: No, I guess I can't.

Lenneth: Dante, not now.

Dante: No need to worry, Lenneth. I do not wish to fight Sin. And as for your offer, I'll let let you know when I know more on the situation there. What's Damon's location?

Lenneth: Lexington City.

Dante: Lexington City? Well I guess I'll be on my way.

Lenneth: And what of Kitara and Marcy? Surely you've thought about them before making your decision?

Dante: In fact I did. Kitara is still recovering from using up her magic and Marcy has taken a bit of a liking to this place so I'm sure she wouldn't mind staying while Kitara rests up.

Lenneth: So are you going to inform them or shall I do it?

Dante: I'll leave it to you. I have a lot of traveling to do. I'll grab a few things before I go.

Lenneth: Very well then. Safe travels.

(As Lenneth says this, Dante leaves.)
