As the village was undergoing a huge change, Leila at the moment is unaware of the bombs dropped by the elders. Although she is aware that most elders of their village were not ordinary, she never thought that these people were actually old monsters who survived the test of time. Something that has really not come to her mind even if the humans here actually have longer life spans compared to those in Reilas.
In her point of view, it is quite reasonable for her not to turn her mind to that direction. Humans are in all their limited lives. They may achieve all sorts of things, but living forever is impossible for them. As she has observed, without a huge attachment to something, most people who lived past a century or more are prone to be more and more tired as they continue living. They either turn less restrained and dare to do absurd things as most of what they wanted were already fulfilled.
